We wanted a weekend away in NOTL and were looking for something that wasn't overly pricey but wasn't a typical hotel either and this B and B fit the bill. It's really easy to find as it's on the main road into the town - and although the road can busy, the traffic noise was not evident once you were inside the house (or out behind the house for that matter). Parking was easy and there was lots of space. We were welcomed into the property by Linda and she was really helpful in getting us settled. Check in was a breeze and the information cards available in the room answered all the questions we had. The rooms were spacious and more than we could have ever wanted. We booked the suite because we wanted a bit of extra space and it was fantastic - well worth the price. We never did…

We booked Abagale's B & B for just after holidays via Expedia. There were plenty of confirmations and instructions sent regarding how to pay & check in. Cash is accepted onsite for your stay. We were the first arrivals and gave our host the heads up on the time we would be arriving, this way you get a lovely personal greeting and check in. Our host was a very sweet woman. She greeted us at the door and went over the B&B with us, giving us a tour of the mainfloor & amenities. She gave us recommendations for local eateries, wineries, etc. ,with coupons for the Prince of Wales & Pilliteri Winery. Also instructions on how to use the hot tub. She provides slippers at the door to move about the B&B in:). Our room was directly to the left of the entrance on the main…

Linda was very friendly and nice. She gave us coupons for local food / wine and made great recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and fresh and the home was in great condition. The hot tub was definitely a great feature. Definitely recommend this place.

A very lovely little B&B close to town and the wineries. The rooms are very big and clean. The service was good and breakfast was also excellent. We didn't use the hot tub or bike service but will this summer! Our trip was just like staying with your inlaws! I'll stay here again.

My wife and I found Abagales B n B because of location, originally. We had been to the region before but were looking for something better than we had previously experienced. When we stayed at Abagales 3 years ago we found the owners warm, friendly and accommodating. The facilities were wonderful. Clean, quiet and the breakfast...DELICIOUS! You leave the table wanting for nothing and offered everything. We were too comfortable/busy to take advantage of the hot tub, yet we're encouraged to do so. We were so impressed with our stay, we returned the next year with friends. This year, we and our friends came back to Abagales and were just as impressed with the warm welcome and the friendly disposition from Wally (co-owner) as in the previous year. We are returning again the…

What a dream! This was our second time here at Abagales B&B. Once again it was very clean and quiet. We didn't hear even hear the other guests except when they were leaving. They gave us the Tiffany Room (with 3 beds) even though we only booked the Rose Room! Internet log-on was easy as 'Guest' was obvious for the network name.We found the staff to be polite and patient and very informative. Breakfast was fantastic and the food was fresh and very filling. They even accommodated one of us with a gluten allergy with no problems whatsoever. After breakfast, we shopped at many shops that they suggested along the strip. What a delight to see Santa at the "Just Christmas" store. They also suggested several places for local touring and offered us free winery passes but we aren't wine…

TL;DR - rooms are clean, washrooms are clean, but bring toiletries, owner will make things harder than necessary. Overall, not worth it. We were there for one evening at the end of October 2014 for a Saturday wedding. My friend booked a suite for me, my husband and my infant son. We had two adjoining rooms at our disposal. The place was very clean. The bed itself wasn't all that comfortable, it squeaked a lot, and seemed to dip/sag in the middle. My husband tells me that the mattresses in the other room weren't as squeaky and were probably more comfortable. However that was where we put our son's portable crib and he was already asleep by the time we discovered our squeaky bed, so we stayed put. The washrooms were also very clean. They provided towels and hand soap. That…

Response from butlerbb, Owner at Abagales Victorian Hot Tubs and Suites Bed and Breakfast
Responded 6 Nov 2014
Thank you Trip Advisor. I am never disappointed when I receive a review that needs correcting as it allows the owners to showcase the wonderful attributes of their B&B which coincide with the majority of "five star" reviews from previous guests. There is a host at both B&Bs 99% of the time, but as we operate the B&Bs from "a" to "z", someone has to shop and run errands and shopping is not in the Village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We stress that approximate arrival time is important in order to spread out arrivals, fit in shopping and errands and have time to spend with guests. When guests arrive more than two hours late on a Friday afternoon when there are many other arrivals and one host we do our absolute best to check guests in, show them around, provide a detail map of the Town, instruct them on using the outdoor hot tub, offer winery tour and tasting free passes to 31 wineries, offer recommendations for dinner and discount coupons (this couple part of the wedding party..assumed rehearsal dinner), provide theatre and attraction information, etc. and repeat all the information on a stand up display in every room. I have never in 26 years had a guest say not enough time was provided on checking them in. This couple had a two room 600 square ft. suite with three beds all with high quality new mattresses which provide us with the most compliments. They had their choice of three beds in the two bedroom suite. Just to clarify, Expedia added $50 charge for third person not realizing an infant. This charge was REMOVED and the huge suite billed at exactly HALF rack rate. This was done to give them an extra bedroom for the baby. There is a wicker basket as you come in the front door with every toiletry you can imagine (FREE) from shampoos, conditioners, shower caps, shoe shine kits, packaged tooth brushes and tooth paste, etc. I am not sure how anyone could have missed this. The wi-fi information is given first on the information sheet and once you search available networks, you see the word "GUEST". All other guests have managed to select this one. The coffee maker and kettle are set up the night before and ready to be turned on by the first guest rising. Cream and milk are in the fridge. Full hot breakfast is 9:00 a.m. which guests prefer and full hot breakfast or full continental is ALWAYS available as early as 7:30 a.m. This guest gave the impression she was rushing out at 8:00 am to meet up with the wedding party in another hotel. So sorry did not realize early breakfast was wanted or it would have been made for her. As for the keys, there are two sets for this large suite and only one was handed in. We do pride ourselves in offering the best B&B experience to our guests and with over 75% repeats, we know we are doing many things right. That does not mean that we are not always looking for ways to offer more I thank this guest for her comments and had she stayed longer than one night, there is no doubt they would have had a totally different impression. Of course enjoyed many gourmet breakfasts. They had the most adorable infant son Ben who was very well behaved as B&Bs are not normally suitable for children and he turned out to be a very good little guest.

My husband and I have visited NOTL at least once a year (usually 2 or 3 times) over the past 8 years. We usually stay at Butler Creek House, but there were a couple of nights (on different occasions) when Linda was completely booked. So, she offered us rooms at Abagales, which is just across the back yard from Butler Creek and owned by her son. We found it every bit as warm and welcoming as Butler Creek. Rooms are immaculate, breakfast is delicious! Anita makes the best omelettes! There is always so much to eat that we usually end up skipping lunch. And if you're looking for suggestions on things to do, Anita is very knowledgeable and helpful. Abagales is our go-to B&B when Butler Creek is booked!

We just got back from our delightful 2 nights at Abagale's. We had a perfect experience! Very friendly, immaculate, helpful in places to eat, see. The breakfasts??? Can I say "Out of this world???" They were incredible! We loved Anita, the chef there! Felt very comfortable and the location is super easy to get to and within easy distance of everything! I would definitely recommend Abagale's!

I've stayed at Abagales Victorian B&B at Niagara on the Lake over a number of years and have loved it every time. It's so conveniently located in Canada's most attractive town and the perfect place to stay in order to enjoy the top notch Shaw Theatre Festival (getting better every year) as well as the many varied wineries (getting more varied every year - hiccup). This B&B is flexible and offers great food, and beautifully appointed rooms. There are always good fellow guests to enjoy and chat with. Don't miss it.
