Last weekend my friends and I traveled to Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. One of my friends got seriously injured two years ago in a car accident and she uses a cane and a wheelchair to move around. We picked the Oakes because the location is great and it was easier for my friend to move around. Just few steps from the incline that allowed us to visit the table of the rock information center often and to have a great view of the falls. The customer service experience was good. Anad at the front desk took care of us. She gave us room 519, with a partial view of the falls, ( of course I paid for that). However the tub was very difficult to get in because it was a deep soak tub. My friend struggle the whole time. Anad told us that we need to put the request for our room to get clean a day in advance. I did it for all our stayed. Housekeeping failed only one time and Anad got in contact with me when my friend and I were out to let us know about the issue. I did requested clean towels and when we arrived at the hotel the items were delivered. I thanked her for that. The room, the beds were comfy and the room also has a sofa bed. The bedtime table lamp is in pieces but it keeps working so, regardless it looks terrible, I don’t think it’s going to be change. Housekeeping changed a light bulb on the bathroom ( thank you) and we were able to work on our makeup and hair . The ironing table and the iron got their time already and need a replacement. The elevators are big so we didn’t have any problems moving the wheelchair. The parking in Niagara Falls, Canada is a constant struggle. It’s plenty of parking however the public parking and the private parkings are excessively expensive and sometimes they change the prices at the owners and/ or government leasure. So, regardless the parking at the hotel was also expensive we decided to leave the car at the hotel premises. We didn’t not confront any problems. Overall, we had a nice experience at the hotel. The location is great and to walking distance to best restaurants and areas to hang out.

Able to view part of the falls even if assigned the 3rd floor for courtyard option. May go up to the 14th floor gallery to view the entire falls. Room is comfortable except that there is no kettle. Bottled water is sold at 3+cad for 600ml. Foodcourt nearby at Casino has limited choices. Take the nearby blue line bus (bus stop at opposite direction to incline railway station ) to Clifton Hills for more restaurants & entertainment.

If you’re going to Niagara Falls to see the Falls, a Fallsview room in this hotel can’t be beat. The location is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and the hotel is comfortable and usually better priced than many others.
It is an older property and it could use a facelift. Also, the elevators are slow and crowded. During checkout, you may be “passed by” at least once.

The room is not cleaned daily. When asked for explanations, the staff replied that "the service must be specifically requested". The sink is outside the bathroom, in plain sight when you open the bedroom door. The bathroom, which absolutely needs updating, only has a tub with a plastic shower curtain. Naturally there is no bidet (and consider that there is no shower or external sink). Breakfast must be taken in an external location (Applebee's) where it is not possible to choose anything (and it is not possible to have hot milk). The cleanliness of the common areas also leaves something to be desired.

As a married couple joyfully celebrating the 40th Anniversary of our marriage, we perused our options for a once-in-a lifetime excursion to Niagara Falls, Ontario. The location of the Oakes overlooking Niagara Falls and the amenities stated as a boutique hotel seemed to be precisely what we were looking for. Although the rate for the tower room overlooking the falls ($300 x 3 nights stay--Oct. 3-6) was a hit to our budget, we recognized the importance of this jaunt to Canada and the landmark we accomplished.
On arrival to The Oakes, we experienced a wave of concern and regrets. The front desk staff was ill-informed of the area and there was an absence of a concierge desk to advise guests on arrival.
· The coupons for guests were ridiculous. The free tastings and tours are offered to anyone who enters such an establishment (CPX and Maplestore). The coffee station in the lobby is a disappointment and it is shameful that it’s considered an amenity.
· When asked about WeGo, was told to go over to Embassy Suites for information.
We advanced to our Tower Room (#1127) and along with it a second wave of regret.
· NO HOUSEKEEPING for the duration of our stay!
· (1) face cloth for the duration. Yes, we randomly stumbled upon a housekeeper who gave us a couple more.
· One is left to question the overall cleanliness of the entirety of the property and how well the rooms are cleaned on departure.
· The room was tired, worn and in ill repair.
1. Stopper in the sink is broken and the porcelain is chipped
2. There is a wonky repair of the wall in the tub/shower with a metal plate
3. Remnants of a former personal care (shampoo/soap dispensers) was never removed
4. A shower curtain that was repaired using a safety pin
· Trash not picked up because of NO HOUSEKEEPING hence, we needed to circle around trash bags left in corridor
· Looking of ice???? Roamed the floor and nook and crannies to find an ice machine; checked the lobby. NOPE. Oh, the elevator has information that ice machines are on alternate floors???
· Given the conditions that we were faced with, we were highly suspect of the cleanliness of the pool and exercise equipment. Therefore, we did not enjoy these amenities.
Mr. Khendry, it is unfortunate that this stay put a damper on our mini-vacation. The only saving grace was the nightly fireworks with a perfect view of the Falls. However, this was at quite an expense given that the property failed us otherwise. This property did not deliver as advertised.

We stayed in room 2020 from June 2-4, 2024, and I booked the "Tower Room Premium Falls View King Jacuzzi" because my husband likes jacuzzis. It had a big comfy bed with fluffy pillows with a thick, soft comforter. He really liked the jacuzzi (he said that the jets massaged his back -- I don't really like jacuzzis, so I didn't join him, LOL).
The view was outstanding and basically the room's walls were covered from floor to ceiling glass covered by curtains. All of the photos that I posted are from my room.
You will have no issues viewing the fireworks from this room. However, if you choose do so, I recommend that, if you photograph them to do so with all room lights off because the glass is not glare proof.
The room wasn't perfect (there was no shower gel, the toilet paper was cheap and not soft, and the shower molding around the shower head was damaged), but staff was awesome. They gave us extra towels and pillows and allowed us to use the parking lot a little longer after checkout for no charge because we decided to visit Clifton Hill. 100% I would stay here again and it's totally with it, IMO.

This is not our first visit to the Oaks, sadly it will be our last. We try to just roll with situations and hate to complain but the lip service we got ensured that we were writing a review and never returning. Positive: Good location, quiet, parking is good, enjoyed our view of the river, bed was comfortable and room temperature easy to adjust. Cons: Our room felt like it was where staff went to get items for other rooms. NO hangers. When I asked for some, I was asked how many I needed! Honestly, how many should be there to begin with? Half set of towels. No hand towels, 1 face cloth, and bath mat needed to be shared between the jacuzzi tub and the bathroom 🤦🏻♀️. 1 chair that was broken. So no area to sit and have drinks, enjoy our view and have conversation. When we requested another chair we were told it would be there when we returned from our wine tour... So 8 hours later, no chair. No pictures on the walls (the holes were there but no pictures). Then the issue of the shower head. Again, not fixed. The general condition of the room is poor. Peeling wallpaper, burnt carpet, tile missing and repaired with plastic glued in place. There was also no where to place our suitcase. When I asked for a rack, I was told that they do not provide them.
When speaking with the front desk, we were given the option of moving rooms but had to remove all our items, and leave them at the front desk. This did not appeal to me as we were out for the day and didn't want to then get organized in a new room. We were given a second set of towels and hangers.
The hotel did try to address some issues but in all we were provided lip service to appease us.

Absolutely Magnificent view of the Falls. Shocking difference from when I stayed at the Embassy suites since people looked like ants and although we were much higher up than the 7th floor, it felt like we needed a telescope . Great view of the Casinos next door and across to the American side where the Seneca Casino is. The front desk checked us in quickly and the check out was fast by just dropping our room keys. Summer gave us a Business upgrade from the second floor view of a concrete surface. The shower Fiberglass enclosure was large enough for three people. With thrilling pulsating streams of water. The twin oversized Queen beds were dreamy. There was zero noise transfer from our colleagues on each side. The most enjoyable was the very warm Pool, hot whirlpool tub and Sauna to delight all of us. Fresh Coffee in the lobby 24/7 since no Coffee makers in individual suites. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was very much appreciated.

So there are some bad reviews for this hotel but perhaps expectations were high for some? This hotel is expensive…all the hotels with views of the falls are expensive. I found this one to be one of the least expensive plus it’s really close to the falls! We paid for a premium room since we were only staying one night. We were on the 20th floor (there is a viewing area on the 14th floor if you are staying on a lower floor and want a better view…also there is a falls light show in the evenings plus fireworks at 10pm every night for about 5 minutes…great show!). When you arrive to check in, you can park anywhere in front of the hotel to check in where there is a space available including the Applebees spots as the restaurant is part of the hotel. We arrived around 4pm and the line was to the door but it moved. There is a restroom to the right if you are coming off a long drive. The concierge was very nice, answering any questions those in line had. We had a very nice associate when it was our turn to check in. He even honored my documented $45 parking as I had booked about 8 months ago before the price increase to $50. On this level is also free coffee (nothing fancy but it was good and very hot) and an indoor pool. Plenty of luggage carts. Three elevators that move very quickly. After we unloaded our luggage we moved the car to the parking lot. The parking may seem confusing but it isn’t once you see it. There is no garage…I assumed it was…we made a couple of rights out of the parking at Applebees and ended up behind the hotel where we found plenty of spaces…we could even see our car from the room. Onto the room…it is an old hotel with refurbishment. The hotel price does not reflect the room but the location and view. The room and bathroom were very large. The fridge was good and the freezer refroze my ice packs. There is no microwave (there is one in the lobby) and the ice machines are not on every floor plus they stop after the 12th floor. Lots of counter space in the bathroom plus very good water pressure in the shower. I did find the tub to be a little slippery and there are no handles on the wall…this is my only suggestion to management…I’m sure they don’t want anyone slipping in the shower. The view is awesome and you are very close to everything falls related. The funicular to the falls is right there if you do not want to do a lot of walking. If you do prefer to do a lot of walking, the pretty pathway is just to the left behind the hotel…we walked around to the falls instead of taking the funicular…we had been in a car for 6 hours so we needed to move! If I came back to the falls, I would stay here again.

Fantastic views from our suite but sadly a none functional toilet - eventually overflowing dirty water all over the bathroom ! Thankfully we were in the room to clean it up using all the towels. These then had to be put in the jacuzzi as they were soaking wet (a feature of the suite we paid extra for as well) so as not to flood the room and rendering this also unusable due to toilet water contamination! Reported to receptionist and then we went for dinner to allow time for a deep clean and the toilet to be fixed - guess what they claim we never told them but luckily we videoed me going to receptionist but they claimed human error. Again nothing done until basically begging for clean towels and somebody to sort the toilet out . You do not pay for a suite to be treated like this ! Shame on you you. How about a complimentary breakfast oh fab - let’s pay £500 for a room we cannot use or enjoy and you palm us off with a free breakfast. No thanks ! About like the plague people.
