I recommend this hotel for a very authentic and "untouristy" holiday stay. The view is the most obvious outstanding feature, and it is absolutely spectacular - the light constantly changes and, if you're lucky, there will be a thunder storm over Milan while you're there that will illuminate the sky. And do not miss a walk to the Sanctuary, very... More

Once you've got up to the hotel you are set for a stunning view from the balcony of your room, and the picture windows in the dining room and breakfast room. The light on Lake Orta changes the view all the time. The room is decorated in a rather sparse manner, but the view is all. The bed was comfortable,... More

We stayed in June for a few days prior to our departure from the Milan airport which is an easy distance away. Food was excellent, well prepared and fresh. Road up is unusual for most U.S. citizens fortunately my husband learned to drive in the mountains of California and West Virginia. The views are lovely and there is good terrace... More

This hotel offers the most stunning view one can get of the Lago 'd Orta. But beside this view, the food is of excellent quality (a not too sophisticated card), the rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The road to the hotel is perhaps a bit difficult for less experienced or drivers, since it is... More

We were headed to Lake Orta, and we had no idea what fabulous surprise awaited us. We had booked a night at the Hotel Panoramico, and all I knew, is that the address said Madonna del Sasso and that there was to be a beautiful view of the lake. We kept going up, and up, and up this narrow road-and... More

Stayed at this hotel in August for 3 nights, they didn't have a room with a view which was a shame, but overall the room was very comfortable. No lift if needed. Breakfast very disappointing and basic, cheese and ham limited if you arrive last minute, didn't top it up, coffee nothing special either. Did eat one evening in Restaurant... More

The drive up wasn't bad andnthe morning view was fantastic. Should have checked in earlier to get the sun set as well. You get what you pay for. Room was fine. Maybe a little thin walls, or the neighburs might have been half deaf. The couple who runs it seemed quite morning crumpy and I wasn't allowed entrance o the... More

It's a fairly daunting drive up a steep and winding road to this hotel, especially in the dark, but so worth it for the amazing views, though I wouldn't want to attempt a walk from the hotel to the lake. I understand why it's called 'panoramico'! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake and the owner was... More

A very comfortable and quiet hotel with fantastic, panoramic views of Lake Orta. The food in the restaurant is very good and the couple who run the hotel helpful and friendly. There is a steep, winding road up the hill to the hotel from the Lake but this didn't bother us as we were out sightseeing most of the day... More

If you want the ultimate room with a view, good food, and great hosts pay the little extra for a superior room and go demi pension for a rewarding experience. We have stayed in many hotels all over the UK and Europe and this one is excellent. One downside is of the location / view is the road to the... More
