The owner was gracious and helpful. We enjoyed the unique décor and the included breakfast each morning. You can walk to town to restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed an evening out on the front lawn looking down to the water. If going to Pictou then I would recommend this hotel.

A disappointment......rooms are plain jane, ac units are window-shakers which are only rivalled by the flush valve on the institutional toilets for noise. Went to use the bath tub and their was a scum line on the tub to the point that we did not want to use the tub. When I inquired about the complimentary breakfast, start time was...

We found the Braeside while on the way to Prince Edward Island. It turned out to be much more than just a place to spend the night. The owners are friendly, welcoming, and full of information. The rooms are comfortable, if a little dated. The Inn is within walking distance of the town and its various tourist sights and restaurants....

We went here as all other places we tried were busy. But I must say, a waste of time and money. The manager is very nice, but when the neighbour takes a shower it sounds like you are on a boat close to the engine. We'll go and check out breakfast now, but it will not help to change anything....

It's what I expected for rural Nova Scotia at the price. Really dated rooms, but clean sheets and bathroom. Looks a bit like a hospital theme in the rooms. Staff were so nice and if you are into toast and cereal for breakfast you are set. If you are looking for more amenities I'd stay somewhere else.

The staff was very friendly, the hotel is older and only has 18 rooms, but decorated nicely, beds are very comfy and rooms are clean. The sinks and bathrooms match the older hotel so there is really no room to put anything on the sink. The only major complaint would be they need bigger bath towels. Breakfast is included and...

The Braeside Inn is a quirky little inn in Pictou, Nova Scotia. It has lost its shine of previous years. It has a lovely view of the water, and is in walking distance of the waterfront and restaurants. The decor in the downstairs lobby is delightfully quirky, and there is a lovely room in which to read and drink your...

My family and I stayed here last night, and I have to say, we were well-pleased! It is dated, but I felt that added to its charm. The owner is friendly and so kind, and he even took the time to elaborate on the inn's history. The breakfast was good--standard continental fare, and the dining room was quite beautiful. I'd...

When I go away for any amount of time I love to be in a place that makes me feel like I'm part of the history, and the Braeside did that. I received a warm welcome, was provided with anything I requested immediately, and was impressed that they were able to maintain the historic building but yet provide air conditioning...

The inn is a throw back from the 50's. It was once beautiful but time has not changed anything about the hotel. Our room was extremely small with an old worn armchair, with no room for anything. And, the catch was we were upgraded to a larger room. The town too is suffering from the loss of the ferry. Shops...
