This is a hotel where the staff cares about their guests. The rooms are large and the lobby is great. The staff recommended sites and restaurants which were great. The only negative is paying for parking at $ 25 per day but it is downtown Halifax and have to expect that. Entirely, a pleasant stay and a well done for...

Had 2 rooms for the family. Suite included fridge with small kitchen - i.e beer fridge coffee maker and dishes, nothing else. Well situated. Close to waterfront and restaurants, laundromat. Lovely staff! Call to get best reservation pricing. Get parking and room package.

This was a very nice hotel & enjoyed my stay. I probably wouldn't stay here again as it Costs $25 a day for parking. That adds up if your there for any length of time. There's hotels that are just as nice as this one with free parking & breakfast to boot. They have a buffet breakfast which is also...

Thank you for your review Barb H. I am sorry to hear that the parking cost was too high for your liking. It is true that some hotels in Halifax include parking and breakfast in their given rates, but we believe our service and friendly staff separate us from the rest. Perhaps on your next visit we can discuss some...

The Lord Nelson has been my favourite hotel in Halifax for years now; I travel to Halifax on business several times per year. I love the old school touches; no other hotel still has a doorman 24 hours a day. The onsite restaurant is very good and the location is second to none. Yes, the rooms may be smaller than...

Wow Kim D! Thank you very much for those great words - I couldn't have said it better myself. It is always our pleasure to accommodate you on your travels to Halifax. We spent four days at the hotel and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in to our departure the service was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful in assisting us with recommendations in the area with things to do. The hotel is conveniently situated to the waterfront, the public gardens, the many restaurants, bars/pubs...

When we check in we were givien an upgrade to a 2 room suite. The accomodations were excellent and the location of the hotel is very convienent to the waterfront and the whole city. It is a 10 minute walk to the waterfront. I want to tell you that the staff was exceptional. Ryan was very helpful in giving us...

Stayed here for 7 days with our 2 dogs. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The food in the bar was good. Our room was really big and reasonable priced. The bathroom was a little small but that did not bother me. It was nice to see real cups and glasses instead of the crap we got at the...

Hello tersanna! We thank you for your review and for staying with us - you were a great guest and I know your pups were a big hit among our guests. I absolutely agree about having real glasses, and how could a hotel ever forget the importance of real glassware and corkscrews? Glad we could help you out with that....

We chose the Lord Nelson as one of Canada's Railway Hotels, and it did not disappoint. It is located downtown, steps away from the Citadel, and adjacent to restaurants and a Lawton's for groceries. Parking is available below ground at the hotel, and driving in/out of town via South Park/Bell/Quinpool is easy. The hotel is sometimes limited with what they...
