It is a collection of period houses that are connected. It is an easy walk to museums, shopping, the waterfront, brewery and the hospital. The restaurant with the Halliburton is a bit pricey but so delicious that it is worth it.

Charming and comfortable with more character than we could see from other hotels. Spacious as had living room and kitchenette. Very friendly and helpful staff at all hours. Sadly the restaurant for dinner was closed but menu sounded very good.

I love the quaint rooms the bed is extremely comfortable. It is close to everything we could walk to all the stores and bars. They have a breakfast every morning. The staff is lovely. There's really nothing bad you can say about the place.

The building is beautiful, the staff is wonderful but it all ends there. Our room in the Lithgow building, was like going back in time - think of visiting your grandmother and staying in her guest room that hadn't been lived in in years. This was room 303. Upon entering the room, the air was stale - there isn't any...

Stayed there with a friend this time, and previously for a romantic weekend and both stays were fantastic. This hotel is in a great neighbourhood easy walking distance to the waterfront, and seaport. It manages to combine historic charm and furnishings with modern comfort. Impeccably clean, pleasant helpful staff and great food. What more could you ask for!

We were very pleased with our room and how we were treated by the staff - very friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to all down town attractions and facilities, especially the boardwalk along Halifax Harbour.

I've stayed here a few times over the years, mostly due to business meetings there. I really like it, and the rooms have beautiful 4 poster beds, very comfie. Restaurant is one of the best in town, and the staff very accommodating.

A charming historic hotel with a lot of character. The room is well updated and the bathroom is modern, yet the furniture and atmosphere is that of a bygone time. Not a cookie-cutter hotel, but well-managed and full of nooks and crannies. Central to downtown Halifax. No elevator so not suitable for people who don't want to use stairs.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with TripAdvisor readers. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our nooks-and-crannies! Thanks for the note about the stairs, yes not for the faint of heart. Sincerely, Robert Pretty Owner, The Halliburton Hotel Halifax, Nova Scotia

We received this stay as a gift from our children for our anniversary and decided to tie it into my wife's birthday. The room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We both enjoyed the shower. All in all a wonderful gift and a lovely stay.

Really enjoyed staying here. The room was big and had a lovely sitting area. So much nicer than a chain hotel. Would most definitely go there again. The breakfast was included. It was in a lovely dining area with lots of choices.
