We have a carefree "let's just wing it!" style of travelling, so it was just by chance that we happened upon the Rendell Shea B&B.....but when Earl answered our knock on the door, he greeted us like he'd been expecting us to arrive all along. We were welcomed in and immediately loved it. The century home is beautifully decorated and...

I an certain there are other lovely B & B's in St. John's but my husband and I are so glad that we didn't miss the experience of staying at Rendell Shea. We stayed our first night in St. John's and even though it was a quick stay, it was enough to tell us that we had chosen the right...

BRAVO to the Rendell Shea Manor for providing the loveliest, most welcoming "home away from home" experience ! We spent 6 wonderful days in this beautifully restored Victorian home, enjoying meeting Earl, and all of his friendly staff members. The location is perfect for walking to the downtown area. Earl is a gracious host, and is very knowledgable about recommending...

This was our first time at a B&B, but in no time at all Lord Earl of the manor made us feel right at home, what a great host, a real Newfoundland gem. Rooms were beautiful, clean, will appointed. The B part of our stay (breakfast) was a spread of the most amazing gluten free food, Lord Earl went out...

Stayed at the Rendall Shea manor june 21-25. This B&B is lovely. We had a very positive, welcoming experience and would highly recommend it. The rooms were spotless. Within walking distance to all attractions. The sun room for afternoon tea delightful. Earl the host was the host with the most. He greeted us when we arrived in the afternoon, showed...

So glad our first experience with Newfoundland was our four night stay at the Rendell Shea. The house is beautiful, location perfect and our host, Earl was kind, hospital and accommodating. The breakfasts were so generous (not to mention creative) that I had to ask for smaller portions. Our stay there set the stage for an amazing holiday and I...

On a recent business trip I had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful B&B. Not being accustomed to the B&B lifestyle, this Manor house was a positive, welcoming experience. This B&B is conveniently located within walking distance of all the necessary downtown attractions (including Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, The Rooms and George St.). Staying for the most part, in...

I had a short but very sweet visit in St.John's at the Rendell-Shea Manor. The location is fabulous; just a walk away from great restaurants and shops, but away from any busyness and just across from the lovely Government House. I was greeted like family by Earl and had a seamless check in, provided lots of information on the area...

Lovely property and Earl made me feel very welcome. I could only have breakfast one day and the food was wonderful. The rooms are beautifully appointed and there is easy access to downtown on foot. Would definitely return.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rendell Shea Manor is a Heritage Home located in the Historic East End of St. John's. This is one of the best areas downtown to walk the city. There are local cafés, craft stores, restaurants and local Pubs. We are within minutes walk of Signal Hill, The Rooms, The Battery, George Street and the Harbor front. Afternoon coffee and tea are available in our sunroom or on our covered deck. The Rendell Shea Home has retained most of it's original period character. It was the home of St. John's first Mayor, Mr. George Shea and his wife Margaret Rendell Shea. The home remained in the Shea family for more than 100 years.
