It was hard to decide how to rate this place. On the one hand, I loved the quirkiness of it, everything from the decor to the owners. On the other, this place is full of creepy dolls. We are talking life size in some cases. My friend had to lock one in the closet in her room. The breakfast service...

We spent two separate nights at Marshlands going between Nova Scotia and Maine. We ate dinner and breakfast there both times. We stayed in the main building which was built a long time ago and is quite large. We were impressed with the quality of the maintenance. Yes, it was a little funky but we liked that too. The dining...

I spent 3 nights at the Marshlands Inn in the Carriage House, which is separate from the main inn, just behind it through the parking lot. I was there for a conference and many other participants stayed there too. My room on the main floor (room 2) was cozy, toasty, and very quaintly decorated (if a bit overstuffed with antique...

Really weird. I'm not worried the owners will read this since they are trapped in the 90s as far as technology goes. Their website reassures you that they read email three times a day. Three! But don't believe it. They also don't reply. Phone. You must phone. When you ask for an email confirmation they sound confused. When you Google...

I recently stayed for two nights at the Marshlands Inn. Being close to the university and 'downtown' was a bonus -- no need to drive anywhere other than the liquor store on the other side of town. My room was okay, but be sure to ask for a room with a TV if you want one. There weren't enough outlets...

We got to Sackville late and in the dark looking for a motel when we came across Marshalls inn by chance. So lucky we did! We loved this Victorian mansion with atmosphere and period furnishings, particularly the myriad of dolls scattered all around including the stairs. We enjoyed having coffee in the parlour after a delicious, beautifully presented copious meal...

Was it the creepy dolls in the bedroom, the slightly shabby state of the furnishings, or was it the eccentric manner of the staff that made our stay at Marshlands Inn unforgettable? Something about this place has come unglued from its reputation. The food was quite acceptable, but the service was perplexing. Was surprised to be sent to the Carriage...

The restaurant here has great food and the people who work here are friendly and dedicated... But, our room in the carriage house left a lot to be desired. Creepy dolls all over the place, mould in the bathroom caulking and no ventilation. The air freshener in the hallway was really cloying. Won't recommend or be back despite their impressive...

This is a charming inn, full of interesting antiques. We enjoyed a wonderful chowder lunch and dinners that were both presented beautifully and were delicious! The servings are very generous, so arrive hungry! Some of the veggies were fresh from their own garden. Marshlands is in a great location, within walking distance of the university, art galleries, shops and quaint...

This is an old mansion that is simply beautiful. stepping through the front door feels like stepping back in time. Very friendly host and hostess. They have a dinning room that serves breakfast ,lunch(?) ,and dinner. We ate dinner there and had steak and wild blueberry pie .Both were very delicious. They do have rooms upstairs but we did not...
