Wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived. The hotel is undergoing major renovations. The building externally looks outdated and bland but inside tells a different story. Our room upon entry had a modern kitchen, table and chairs which sadly two had stains and the bedroom carped was slightly worn along with very slightly worn furniture. Having stated the negatives...

The Helms Inn is fabulously located - within walking distance of the clipper ferry dock, parliament buildings, Victoria museums, downtown, harbor. Not a luxury hotel but clean and comfortable and homey - and recently redone, so the charm has some spiffiness to it! Adequate parking, your own wifi router in the room - ours had a full kitchen, as well....

Quiet, VERY affordable, Super clean and modern furnishings with a small patio outside. Full Kitchen & table, "living room" was super comfortable as was the beds. I will definitely stay here all the time when in Victoria. The Imax and Museums, waterfront, parks, all short walking distance. 2 Thumbs up. Oh and very friendly staff.

We stayed for several days taking in the parks, walking the waterfront, visiting the museum taking in IMAX there all just a couple of blocks apart. The kitchenette was well stocked and easy to work in. Coffee and lounge at the enrty and convenient parking.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Helm's Inn week before last. We occupied room 304 on the second floor of the Mount Royale building overlooking Superior Street. Our room had a kitchen with full sized refrigerator, sink, and microwave. We ate out every meal so we only used the refrigerator to keep water cool. A dining table...

Enjoyed this hotel right next door to the museum and park and very easy waking distance to other attractions. Laundry really useful too and parking very convenient. We arrived very late, midnight but wasn't a problem, very helpful staff. Loved Victoria especially the museum and wharf area.

The staff were friendly and able to answer questions about the area. The location is perfect walking distance to all the key spots. This hotel room was spacious and immaculate. It had a small, fully equipped kitchen area, a dining table, comfortable armchairs and good bathroom. The location is perfect - just next to Beacon Hill Park, and the museum. It's only a tiny walk to Inner Harbour and all the restaurants. Great staff. Highly recommended

My wife and I stayed here for one night in June on our way up island. Despite our late arrival we were warmly greeted and given directions on where to find breakfast in the morning. The hotel is self-catering and has no eating facilities. It is close however to several places, including a Cora's. Our room was fairly small, but...

Stayed here as family of 4 and had room.105 which is ground floor below road level. Spacious room with separate living room, with sofa and single arm chair. Small kitchenette with microwave. Decent sized bedroom with 2 king beds. Small bath but adequate for our needs. Staff very helpful and willing to help. Good rapport with the guests which made...
