Nice reasonably price in good location. Clean rooms, friendly staff. The one bedroom suite with kitchen is good choice for a stay of a few days or more. There is off street parking for free which is a must in Victoria.
Got a bit stranded with weather affecting flights leaving Victoria, so had to extend our stay at Helm’s Inn not once but twice. The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful at this stressful time. We were able to remain in our little but comfortable kitchenette suite and the wifi and tv channel selection was excellent. We would happily stay here again. Rooms clean and comfy, just could do with a little modernization and soundproofing. Location is fantastic and we walked everywhere.
I cannot overstate how awesome the service from the front desk was - from reservation questions to check in / check out - super helpful friendly and professional I cannot say same for housekeeping. Our room was clean - but it was their complete lack of concern for the customer. And their conversations with front desk (over radio and in person - yes we can hear you) flippant and dismissive of front desk folks who were simply trying to help customers. I hope management can help them understand that they really make an impact on guest / customer experience Aside from that we enjoyed our stay and will be back. The location gives you easy access to ferries, parks and all the hot spots in Victoria.
Great location, very reasonable price. Daily room service, nice sized suites with separate bedroom, living room and kitchen. All requests to staff were quickly accomodated. Handy patking. QUIET. Everything you need for a great holiday.
We booked this hotel as the last stop of our Vancouver Island holiday and weren't expecting much due to some of the recent reviews and the affordable price however we were pleasantly surprised! The staff were extremely helpful recommending local bars and allowing us to check in a little early. The room was very spacious, clean and the kitchenette area was very well equipped.
We booked this hotel to be easy walking distance to Legislature/Empress Hotel, and it is that. Kitty corner to Beacon hill park and Royal BC Museum. Our room was large with a Murphy bed in closet for extra family, and had a full kitchen (toaster, microwave, stove), and a full bathroom with tub (but bathroom was small). Small air conditioner kept us cool. Downside, the room faced a busy road- Douglas(?), which could be noisy. Parking an additional $10.60/night behind hotel.
We weren't expecting anything special but were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. Small kitchen, smallish bathroom, large room with king-sized bed, table and chairs, work desk and plenty of room to place our luggage. Airconditioning a bit on the noisy side but certainly bearable. Bed was comfortable, pillows fine, shower pressure good, large fridge, stove and bench top with sink etc, small coffee machine. Room was serviced daily which is a bonus during covid times. For the price no complaints at all. Car parking onsite, not secure but seemed a relatively safe area. Good to walk to local attractions, fisherman's wharf, local supermarket and bottle shop. Would definitely recommend.
Overnight stay at Helms Inn. Everything a bit dated and well used, but the room was comfortable and a good size. Wi-Fi was good. The only negative thing I could report is the tiled floor in the kitchen area was sticky, so it probably hadn’t been cleaned too well.
It is at the edge of the tourist area but still within walking distance to town centre. Price is good. It consists of 3 apartment buildings of 3 stories each, the top level can only be accessed by stairs. My unit is a small apartment, with full kitchen along the hallway. The dinning/sitting room has a desk and 3 chairs, sofa and TV. The bedroom has a king size bed. There is no USB outlet. The whole unit is newly renovated except the shower. The ventilation in the bathroom is not good. The windows has not been upgraded so cannot close tightly and hear some traffic noise. Room view is parking lot and senior home. Your car can stop at the front for registration, parking is $10/day at the back. Number of parking spots is limited.
Room very clean, tasteful decor. Huge comfy bed. Small kitchen area very well equipped. Brilliantly located. Would definitely recommend staying there. Very friendly & helpful staff. Victoria is a lovely city to visit
