This boutique hotel is one of Vancouver's best kept secret's. Located in a great area close to Fallscreek and Chinatown. Staff was very kind and helpful rooms were modest as were the prices. One of the oldest hotels in Vancouver 117 years old but newly appointed the bed was the best! Close to shops restaurants and transportation

stayed here on a business trip from Australia. Stayed multiple nights over a two week period! The staff were amazing and so helpful. Cecile and D'Arcy went out of their way to help us with booking things for our trip. Breakfast is nice, location is close to everything. Really enjoyed the stay including the rooms! Will stay again!

We had the opportunity to try this hotel in our own city after an evening of theatre and late- night dining...rather than taxiing home. What a pleasant surprise! Yes, this room is one of the few at this property with it's own well-appointed bathroom and TWO bay windows. Staff was pleasant and helpful. If you have the chance to try... More

Very unprepossessing lobby. Included a nice chandelier but could use some more design. The hallways are bare and picture less with cheap, industrial carpeting. The room was small but comfortable enough. The bathroom, however, was quite nice, as advertised in our guidebook, with marble floors and separated toilet and sink areas. The location is quite good, right in downtown, next... More

Having business in Vancouver required a night in a hotel. We were looking for something with some charm and value. Bingo, The Victorian Hotel did the job perfectly. Having heard good things about the property from a relative, we booked a king room, which ended up being on the inside of the hotel, overlooking the parking area instead of the... More

Stayed four nights in January during a business trip. Pleasant stay with no surprises. Excellent value for under $100 per night. The room was spacious, clean and had all the expected amenities. The bed in particular, was super comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wasn't here during the summer, so a/c and noise weren't issues, as per some other... More

This was our first time in Vancouver so we really didn't know too much about the city and where to go. I used other reviews to help make our decision. This place was quaint, clean and very nicely updated but still held the old Victorian charm. Although the bathroom was shared, it was clean, very modern and I never once... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
