When first walking into the lobby you are greeted with an uncomfortable smell, as if someone left the kitty litter a little too long to change. Our room was small (which is manageable), reeked of cigarettes and the bedding was pilling. After approaching front desk we were quickly switched to a room that was a little more breathable and tolerable....

If you like, or don't mind walking a few blocks to the waterfront area, this hotel is a good choice. Clean, quiet, with a convenient cafe next door that does a decent breakfast and decent coffee. Staff pleasant and helpful. There is also a bar attached but we didn't check it out. Close to shopping on Robson and Granville Streets,...

Chose this hotel because of the price and location. The hotel itself is older, but has been kept up nicely. The rooms themselves are smaller, modernly decorated and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, but what do you need a large bathroom for? I've read some concerns that the walls are thin and certainly at times we could...

Old building that has been touched up, musty smell, tiny rooms with tiny beds, on busy street thus noisy... Def not worth the value or star rating... Service was great, but wouldn't recommend have stayed in nicer hotels in Vancouver in the past!

The hotel does not have central air. The thermostat is set at 75F. If you want a cooler room, they will supply you with a portable unit. Also the hotel is only 4 stories high. You will hear all of the street noise if you get a room in the front of the building. Don't be fooled by the pictures...

Unlike others, we had a clean and nicely appointed room. Very good location but I must say, the floor in our room was slightly tilted. Yes, tilted. No doubt since this hotel dates back to 1908. However, dont let that deter you. Helpful staff and good location. Also, honest people. We mistakenly left our Kindle in the nightstand. After realizing...

Stayed here for 3 nights earlier this week. Hotel definitely looks better online. Rooms are tired nd inneed of a refit. Quite disappointing as looks sharp in website pictures. Wifi intermittent, tv operated by a bizarre light switch which even when on, made navigating through channels a hassle. Toilet seat was creamy yellow, faded colour, worn and abrasive, as though...

The hotel room looked rundown but generally clean. I did a usual check for bugs as van is know for having a problem. After putting my suitcase in the tub we went out. When we returned an hour later we walked in our room we were face to face with a bed bug!! Obviously we left immediately the only offer...

The Moda is in a fairly central and thus very noisy area. We requested a different room as ours was on a corner and the noise was unbelievable. Jack at the front desk was beyond helpful and courteous; we were upgraded to a lovely suite across the road from the main property. Unfortunately a drug gathering in the adjoining parking...

This is a newly remolded hotel which was very nice. What you see is what you get. I couldn't be more happier which the hotel cleanliness and the decor. The only thing I didn't like is that the elevator was very very small only fits 2 people and barely enough room for your luggage. This hotel is 1 block from...

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
