Husband and I had to go to Vancouver for a business trip and I was in charge of booking the hotel.... As I've never been to Vancouver I was excited and so was my husband... But this was the worst hotel experience, ever! First of all we get there and there are numerous drunk/drugged out/homeless people and hookers standing right...

the Hotel and its staff are pleasant enough bur it really does live up to the name budget! No way of making a cuppa in your room and nowhere to get any breakfast without a 10 or 15 minute walk somewhere. And the hotel could not be in a worse location - surrounded by down and outs and prostitutes who...

Clean rooms and not so professional staff but helpful. Area not so charming filled with homeless people but they never bothered us. It is only a couple of blocks from Gastown, good for restaurants and night life. About half an hour walk from downtown and cruise terminal.

Well it is clearly no 5 star establishment however the staff are friendly and efficient. The room is small however clean and does the job. The price is very good, especially as many of the hotels in Vancouver seem very expensive. The wifi is free and very good considering most hotels now charge and connecting is very problematic. If you...

The hotel is old, but not in a cute, charming way. The bathroom lacked a vent and the grout on the floors and in the bath tub was moldy. There is no a/c, but they did provide on small fan. The beds were very uncomfortable. The neighborhood is very rough. From our window we saw people selling drugs and sex...

Don't recommend this awful hotel. The help have NO customer service etiquette, they ignore the customer in front of them, and have endless phone conversations. Was promised a queen upgrade by Van, but when we arrived an Asian male, who was very difficult to understand, said NO we were getting a double room. The room needed a make over the...

You will not find a better priced hotel in Vancouver. Location wise --...

We stayed at the Patricia for 1 night while in town to see a concert at Rogers Arena. The location was convenient located on a bus route and was only a 15 minute walk to the show. The area is extremely poor and some questionable people were hanging out around the hotel. However they were all polite and friendly, there...

Compared with most hotels in Vancouver this hotel is very inexpensive. Situated in the East end of the city, which is the poorest district in Canada, this hotel is a gem. Convenient public transportion the door step gets you into downtown in 15 mins and all the sights of this great young city. Comfortable, clean accommodation with good front desk...

The patricia hotel has been around for a super long time and as such carries an interesting history BUT You do not sleep in history. What I liked about the hotel was the friendly staff and the rooms although small were clean. Very old fashioned rooms. The location of the hotel is in the poorest part of Vancouver and as...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
