We stayed with Lynn and MIchael at the end of September 2011. The level of luxury and attention to detail throughout the entire property was outstanding. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The breakfasts were a work of art and very scrumptious. There was so much food we had to take some for morning tea. Michael went out of...

The Room, The Breakfast and most importantly the Hosts, Everything is just lovely, so much thought and love goes into running this B&B, the attention to detail and all the little extras tell you the hosts enjoy what they do. Location is perfect, in a quiet street, with N0.20 bus at the end of the road taking you straight into...

This B&B is exceptional. The room we were in for 2 nights was tastefully furnished, with a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. In-room facilities were excellent and Lynn and Michael's care and attention to detail were very obvious. But the highlight was undoubtedly breakfast; Lynn's creations (not too strong a word!) are a great start to the day. Just one...

We stayed for 2 nights on the last 2 days of Aug 2011. We arrived from the UK rather tired but were made to feel welcome by the hosts Lynn & Michael. They were very helpful with local information on transport and dining. Room(Mollys) was small but fine. The breakfasts were a feast.

Lynn and Michael did wonders with their home. Their great hospitality makes you fill as if its your own home. The food Lynn makes every morning is great for its taste and for its appearance. The location is good with restaurants and bus round the corner. It is an outstanding place and we hope to visit there again.

We stayed at the Bee & Thistle just last weekend (Sept. 22-25th) in the Lion's Den. The views from the room were great of Vancouver, the size was perfect, and the experience relaxing. The entire B&B is very tastefully decorated, the hosts wonderful, and the breakfasts were the best I have had at a B&B (and at most restaurants). We...

We stayed with Michael and Lynn for the third time while visiting our daughter in Vancouver. They always make us feel like we are part of their family. Each of their breakfasts seem to outdo the one before; wholesome, creative and never the same. The in-room notebook is very convenient and saves us from unpacking our own computer. If you...

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
