Since our hotel of choice, the Westin Bayshore, was fully booked (see my other review), we decided to spend a day checking out the Chinatown area, and decided to port over to the downtown, and chose the St. Regis Hotel. When we opened the hotel door, we literally gasped - we'd never seen such a top-notch presentation in an older...

I've just arrived from Vancouver. Stayed 8 days at St Regis, 4 days to visit, 4 days to work. It's a wonderful choice to visits and to go to the Congress Center. The breakfast is included, as are all the distance phone-calls. There is an excellent steak restaurant in the same building, and a bar with good salads and snacks...

This hotel is literally 2-3 blocks from everything in Vancouver: the waterfront, Gastown, Chinatown, Robson... By our second day, the staff at the front desk recognized us going in and out. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Especially Ryan, Gary, Diana, as they were there the most. The room was clean and nice sized. We didn't spend much time in...

I found the St.Regis to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at for a number of reasons. First of all, the staff. Very helpful and friendly and professional. We arrived early in the morning after our cruise ship docked and they stored our luggage for us while we went out to lunch. Upon returning we found...

As with all hotel, I always check out TA to see if they fall into the top 10 prior to booking. It actually took me a really long time prior to finalizing this hotel. I actually reserved the L'hermetiage & the rosewood Georgia while deciding. Then cancels both. the L'hermetiage sounded awesome but after hearing about the construction across the...

I had booked this hotel after reading the reviews on TA. We arrived very early in the morning but despite being unable to check us in the staff were so helpful. Our luggage was stored, they gave us maps of the city and suggestions of what to do for the day. I also mentioned that I was unsure if the...

Booked this Hotel for a 4 night stay before a tour and cruise. Fabulous hotel, great staff, wonderful location. We found the St Regis easy to access via the Skytrain directly from the airport. Vancouver is a walkable city, and this hotel is well located to most attractions. Our room was very comfortable, clean and sufficiently spacious. Beautiful bathroom with...

My husband and were I were pleasantly surprised with how good our room was. We booked the corner room and were a little unsure if it might be a bit small but there was plenty of room. Good amount of light with opening windows was a plus. The bathroom was a standout and was as good as any at 5...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
