Lovely B&B. Totally private stay in The Camelot suite. Air conditioned and very romantic suite. Large with a gigantic 2 person tub and seperate shower. Breakfast dropped off privately in a basket by the door down a stairwell so no interuptions to worry about. Yummy fruit and yogurt parfait, muffins, toast, boiled eggs and OJ. Limitless coffee or tea in... More

This has to be the nicest, most romantic place I've ever stayed in! Exceptional. And great attention to detail in ever way possible. Felt like a step back in time, but with modern, up to date features. Even the breakfast was superb. Nice, quiet place with a nice view. Only regret is not getting there for the 3pm check in... More

I can't believe how perfect my stay here was. I stayed in the attic room, which was enchanting. It was a large room at the top of the stairs, with an included bathroom. The breakfast in the morning out on the little patio was absolutely delicious (I wish I could eat like that every morning). Harriet herself was also wonderful... More

We came across "A Cottage and a Castle" by chance and were enchanted. The studio was lovely, the decor perfectly co-ordinated with attention to details, and with everything we needed to be comfortable. The courtyard outside was also lovely.

We happened on A Cottage and a Castle while driving thru Chemainus-it is definitely a "hidden gem". The hostess is extremely accommodating, breakfast is lovely (delivered to your door in a basket-enjoy it in the privacy of your suite), the rooms are amazing! A one-time stay won't be enough! (we've been 3 times and will go back). There is so... More

The moment we arrived we were received in a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. It was so beautiful and we took our granddaughter down to the beach to enjoy the sunset. We had a lovely breakfast and our family really enjoyed our time together. Thank you so much Harriet. We will definitely be back.

This is indeed a cute property which we had noticed on previous trips to charming Chemainus. We booked 24 hours ahead for a theater getaway, blast emailing all local B&B's. This was the first to respond with a vacancy, so I had not studied all the details but noted all the 5 star ratings on T.A. The price quoted was... More

Let me start with the fact that Chemainus is a lovely little town with beautiful murals telling of the towns history. You can tour yourself or take a horse carriage tour. Now about "A Cottage and a Castle". We were in the Camelot suite, which was basically a themed APARTMENT with a huge bathroom and big soaker tub. Small but... More
