Based on other reviews we must have been in one of the updated rooms because the room was actually very pleasant. Nice bed and couch, it's an older building so it's not all nice but it was clean. The windows were left open as one other review mentions, which was strange because the curtains were left drawn. Never would have known if I hadn't checked; luckily we were on the second floor. Ultimately we were looking for a cheap hotel and we got one: breakfast is served from the front desk, staff was friendly (in a way that would have seemed quaint if this hotel was located in a small town, instead it read as a touch unprofessional), and we were told at least three times by different people that we were in a bad part of town. But we were smart about how we walked back and felt perfectly safe once we were in our room.

Inn is very good value. It's an older motel, but improvements are ongoing. Clean and beds are super comfy . Staff is friendly and helpful. Appreciate the complementary breakfast - coffee, juice, muffins, cereal, yogurt available. Located in a neighbourhood that regenerating, close to LRT, Northlands. We've stayed here a number of times over the past 4 years and expect to continue to do so.

This nice little motel is easily one of the best value for money but don't judge it without spending time to enjoy the nicely appointed suites with all the amenities that are very rare at this point. The queen suite is nicely decked out in cozy leather couch and homey feeling chair.A/C is efficient without freezing your toes, ample spaced fridge, microwave and the TV is good size for the room. Check in was a breeze without the need to sign dozens of pages of paperwork and a CC hold thats comparable to the cost room. All you need in an honest, clean and convenient location next to an LRT station & a bus that runs frequently and past midnight. 5 star property!

Staff is very good and they try their best.
Price is too high.
Phone booking system is bad, I booked 10 days in advance, called one day in advance and they did not have my booking.

Room is horrible: carpet dirty, holes in covers from cigarettes and during summer A/C runs everywhere at night and it's noisy.
No access cards just keys, and they buzz you in at the reception and entrance after hours.
Breakfast is coffee, muffins, yogurt, orange juice

Hotel should forbid smoking in all rooms, since all doors are outside.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! I booked this hotel 8 months in advance as me and my daughters are attending a concert in Edmonton in August. At the end of June they call me to tell me that they can no longer accommodate us and cancelled our reservation. Due to there being a concert it was very difficult to find another hotel and now I am having to pay over $100 more for another room because it's only 2 months before the concert and now we can no longer walk to the venue as it is much further away. When I spoke to the manager to see if there is anything he could do, he said no and hung up on me. I have never had such terrible customer service and a hotel that can just cancel someone's reservation 6 months later and take no responsibility or try to make it right in any way is unacceptable.

This place is very very gross. My wife and I stayed there over the weekend and the room absolutely stunk like cigarettes to the point where any time we spent in the room was absolutely ruined. The beds were sinking I'm at weird points and not comfortable. If you need a place to crash and are strapped for cash, this will do but I'll be avoiding ever going back here if I can manage it.

This is by far the absolute worst hotel in the city the service is horrible not willing to listen to any complaints or address any concern about the situation. There are ppl smoking drugs right out on the upstairs walkway and even found a couple of siringes scattered around the parking lot. Unless u are recently out of jail and wanna get back into drugs or prostitution this is NOT the place for u!!!!

Response from ArmandEdmonton, General Manager at Eastglen Inn
Responded 5 Apr 2012
After an in-depth conversation with the agents that dealt with your issues, It became clear to me that your group came to Edmonton for the purpose to attend an Oilers game. Unfortunately, for some unknown reasons issues came up that prevented your group from attend the game. When you notified the agent approximately four hours after you checked in that you no longer needed your room and wanted a refund your request was denied because your room had already been used. Given the circumstances our agent dealt with this situation appropriately. Later in the evening this group decided to party in the hotel room into the wee hours of the night and caused significant noise. This type of raucous behavior is not tolerated at our Inn. Many people lost sleep because of your behavior and police had to be called as a result. These individuals are not welcomed back to our Inn.

Horrible weekend staff. Very Rude, talking to family members on phone while I wait. When I tried to get her attention she simply turned her back on me. The windows have no security locks at all There seems to be permanent low income residence smoking pot out side there doors. Police attended a couple of times.
I was up every hour checking my car through the window.
The Room: HIDEOUS & STINKS ! Left the premises after dispute with front desk clerk. Plenty of brand name hotels 5-10 minutes away from the Expo & Rexall such as B W, Comfort Inn Super 8.

Thank you for your important feedback, I apologize for the inconveniences and disappointments during your stay. I am very disappointed that you had this experience at our front desk, I can assure you that the front desk agent has been given a copy of this event and understands how the actions taken do not represent our Inn professionalism. We take as many security measures as possible to ensure the the safety and well being of guests during there stay and I can assure you that we do not endorse illegal activity at our Inn. I am extremely proud of our security measures and security history at our Inn during my 20 plus years as General Manager at our Inn.
