After lots of research I thought I had found the perfect birthday setting in Banff. Overall we left feeling happy, but the website was a bit misleading I thought I had booked the room with the claw bath instead we got a very tiny bathroom with the usual shower over bath. The room did have a lovely open fire which...

Loved this place a decade or more ago and it is still charming, peaceful and cozy, but looking worn! Rooms need thorough cleaning - just cursory cleaning done. Hot tub is a nice amenity but warm, not hot! Food in dining room is good but ambience and decor is dated! Staff is friendly. Not a lot of value for your...

We have stayed at this resort multiple times and have been pleased each time. Close enough to downtown Banff, far enough that you feel more remote. If you don't want to drive the transit is nearby. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are comfortable and rustic. The fireplaces are awesome! When in the premier suites the claw foot tub...

Everyone was very accommodating and quick at handling our requests. We were 11 in the group, at the hotel for a full work week and everyone are extremely satisfied. Highly recommended for a work getaway.

Although dated, this is a good place to stay; we loved the surroundings, the balcony view, and the in-room fireplace (although it was too hot in our room to need it). Our only major complaint was the noise; floors creaking, footsteps outside, doors slamming, neighbours' showers, yelling from a nearby balcony...they all combined to keep us up throughout the night....

Nice place but loud neighbors kept us up all night. Rooms were okay but still a little dated for being an "updated" room. Room was far away from parking stall and on upper level so be careful to check if your room has parking near your door. Was difficult to carry luggage from car and up a lot of stairs.

Was very excited about staying Atthe hotel for our anniversary. Room was not great. The carpet was gross and the rug in front of the fire was all torn up. We have stayed at BML numerous times over the years. Once again BML was our go-to accommodations in Banff. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Buffalo Mountain Lodge is a peaceful retreat on Tunnel Mountain in Banff, AB. The lodge is surrounded by 9 acres of towering fir, pine, and spruce trees, yet just a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the shopping, nightlife and restaurants that are on offer in downtown Banff. A favourite visitor pastime is to observe the deer and elk who frequently nibble on the lawn, right outside the lodge's windows. The lodge has 108 guest rooms, an outdoor hot tub, and several options for dining, making it the ideal location for a weekend getaway, wedding, or corporate retreat. Buffalo Mountain Lodge is part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts' family of companies. Rooms at the lodge have fieldstone wood-burning fireplaces, cozy duvets, LCD televisions and Blu-ray players. Many feature patios or balconies. Each room has been carefully decorated to reflect the mountain lifestyle in Banff-the accommodation is anything but 'cookie cutter.' The outdoor stainless steel hot tub is best enjoyed after an invigorating hike, bike or ski on one of the nearby trails-or perhaps to aid digestion after a sumptuous meal in the lodge's highly acclaimed restaurant, Sleeping Buffalo. ... more   less
