Arrived to find no one. Please phone when you arrive? No signal! Room booked showed and stated a sofa, all there was in the room was a kitchen type chair. Kim did provide to chairs but made it a very small room. You need to be a 7foot giant to reach hanging in wardrobe. No lock on bathroom door. Black...

Dear Rowena Thank you for your constructive review In our defence. when your booking came through You had put in arequest for a quite room Answer the room we allocated to you was because the rest of the rooms in the B&B were booked by a party attending a wedding and we didn't want you disturbed by them returning late...

I only live just down the road but my friend was coming up from London and wanted somewhere local to me to stay, we found Whitton Lodge and I was quite surprised that it was the old Stud farm that I knew as a lad and was only a mile from me! Anyway, we were met by kim and and...

We stayed at Whitton Lodge for the first time on our wedding anniversary weekend. The welcome and hospitality by the family was great with nothing too much trouble, the rooms spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed, the additional games and fitness room was a bonus. I think the fitness room is needed to keep trim after one of Kim's (the...

An outstanding example of what hospitality in the UK should be! We had a genuine, warm welcome from Kim, who then took time to show us around and explain everything. We chose an en suite Garden room (8), which was not only large and extremely well appointed, it was also spotlesssly clean. The guest facilities here put many hotels to...

We had a very warm welcome on arrival and were shown to a garden room which was perfect as we were there on a lovely day and could take our tea and biscuits into the garden to enjoy the last of the sun. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the bathroom was large and modern. There is an honesty...

We wanted a short holiday to visit Hardwick Hall and explore this part of Derbyshire. We booked a garden room which promised access to the garden and countryside views. We packed our swimsuits hoping to use the hot tub outside the room. When we arrived Kim showed us to an upstairs room with a poor view over a roof. When...

We booked this B&B through Booking.com, which advertised it as a hotel, normally £160 a night but reduced for the weekend to £80. It is worth £80, but not £160. Just a warning to others. However, this is a v good B&B, set in a lovely countryside location about 15 mins from Chesterfield. Our room had a TV (freeview channels)...
