This was a 2 night break with Groupon for a total cost of £160 to include breakfast each morning, cream tea on arrival and dinner on 1st night for two people, so it was really good value for money. However, don't expect the best room in the hotel for this price! Our room overlooked the building of an extension and...

Two night stay at the damson dene in March..very picturesque setting near crosthwaite. Very comfortable room with shower. Excellent food with locally sourced ingredients. Both the main restaurant and the bar food were very good. A nice relaxed atmosphere with a huge log fire and comfortable couches in the lounge. The young staff couldn't have been more helpfull and polite...

My partner and I have just got back from a weekend break here (groupon voucher). The only was to describe the hotel is ok. The staff were friendly enough but could do with a bit more cheer, apart from the barman who was lovely and chatty. The reception area is beautiful but the rest of the hotel is in desperate...

We took advantage of another Living Social voucher to re visit the Damson Dene after our enjoyable stay last year. Again we were met by friendly staff, in fact every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. The food again was lovely. We didn't go feed the ducks this time it was a touch too muddy and slippy....

I've read other reviews and yes the hotel is tired and dated in places but, big BUT, it is so relaxing. The staff are brilliant, so polite and attentive. The reception area with open fire is lovely.
