With Friendly professional staff, dog friendly a wonderful beer garden and delightful riverbank walk to hand or boot this is a great place to visit. Especially when the sun shines the beer garden is a delight but with such a friendly atmosphere even the rainiest coldest of days will jst makes its warm and friendly welcome the more appealing!

Dropped in on a Saturday evening, great staff serving well kept beer. The food looked great but bad planning meant that treat still awaits us. We sat in the very pleasant garden and when the sun went down, we were treated to the sight of the bats leaving their roost and flitting around the trees.

I stayed here on business at short notice and was pleasantly surprised. I have passed this hotel lots of times and thought it would be too noisy being on the main road, it was a little noisy but easily bearable. The owners are really friendly, the food is good and the beer is cold!

On our way to visit Muncaster Castle we stopped for a light lunch. Simple food, very tasty, quickly served. Well kept beer and reasonably priced wines. Their chips are some of the best I have ever had.

From the minute we phoned up to the minute we arrived Clive and his staff welcomed us, our two children and Ralph our cockapoo! The children had their first game of pool and were given valuable tips by Clive the owner. The barman was polite and friendly and even the locals were lovely! We ordered our food and when it...

We've been about 8 times now in recent months and have always had a great experience. The owners are friendly & welcoming and make time to chat as well as keeping the kids entertained. The food is cooked fresh so there's generally time to have a game (or two) of pool between ordering & it arriving. We've had a variety...

Called in after work to grab some food. Plenty of parking to the rear of the building and on entering we were greeted in a friendly manner by the bar man. I enquired regarding a table and were shown a number of seating options. Specials were on the blackboard and I was given a menu to peruse. The wife and...

Visited for lunchtime meal. Very disappointing, the inside doesn't resemble the outside - drab and cold, needs refurb. Food was ok but took 40 minutes to come with no explanation and it wasn't cheap. The barman was very pleasant, but the manager (we think) was on the defensive and grumpy. Won't be visiting again!

Spent New Years Eve at the Hotel where a beautiful free buffet was laid on by the owners Clive and Mel, we have been fortunate to attend them in the past when nothing has been to much trouble to make our evening enjoyable. We have also had Dinner there and the food is plentiful and of a very high standard...
