We stayed at Santa Cinnara for 3 nights and it really is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful location and scenery. The cottages are all self contained and well equipped, with a rustic charm. Fabrizio the owner and manager is extremely welcoming and helpful. We spent one day exploring the nearby Canyon Valli Cupe which was spectacular and the highlight of our stay in Calabria. You can order a breakfast basket filled with homegrown produce and one basket lasted us three days of our stay! If you are looking for a stay away from the coast and enjoy the simple pleasures of life then you need look no further.

Francesco has a beautiful, large agriturismo where you can completely relax. Amidst the citrus and olive trees and farm animals are several houses that are fully equipped. The host (but also his brother Fabrizio) let us lack nothing. We really felt at home with these warm people! Fabrizio gave us an extensive tour about the unique history of this farm. The surroundings are beautiful: the sea is nearby and you can completely relax in the rustic nature. You don't have to be bored either: there is a tennis court, table tennis and a swimming pool. The unlimited fresh fruit and homemade jams and marmalades complete the stay. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place surrounded by trees and lots of vegetation... It's the second year we've been here and we were welcomed very well! The houses are all close together and have a patio and outdoor table for dining al fresco in the evening ☺️ and what about the owners? Everyone is very kind and makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive and is very available for anything. Last night on the last day we tasted a truly excellent lemon granita made by Francesco. The sea is just a few km away and it is wonderful!

Visited for a short break. If in need of rest and recuperation this is the place to be. A tranquil location with fabulous views, comfortable accomodation and wholesome, organic food prepared by the owner's wife from their own produce. The busy seaside town of Catanzaro Lido is a short ride away where restaurants, shops and beaches can be found. The near-by village of Soveria Simeri and church is also worth a visit. A hire car is recommended as public transport is almost non-existant. We took the train from Lamezia to Catanzaro Lido then taxi from in front of the railway station. An interesting train journery but no lift and no porters at Lamezia station which resulted in carrying luggage up and down steps. On our return we took a taxi direct to airport which cost 60 euro.
For a true taste of Calabrian hospitality and way-of-life Santacinnaro would be hard to beat.

We had great pleasure at Family Frattos agriturismo for three nights early May (weather was just perfect, not to hot). It was exactly what we hoped for, even more than that. The surrounding landscape, the gardens with a variety of fruits and flowers were just wonderful. Meeting accidentally Leopoldo, the lovely pony, at a roundwalk thru the fields, several nice dogs, some goose and especially the bunch of cute cats with nearly all characters (amongst other animals) was so enjoying that we were really sad when we had to leave. The breakfast at a great view terrace had high quality with several homemade fruit products and a great spicy sausage. Fantastic organic marmalades (the extra Mandarine and Prunes-Marmalades) we bought caused a part of our extra fright we had to pay on the return flight, but it was worth it). And we had the best caffee latte we ever had in the world. The room was spacious with two bast rooms, extra kitchen and terrace. And the warmhearted people (thanks for the family birthday cake!) gave us a great welcome feeling. As cat addicted people we dream to come back and spend a week someday!

For over a week we stayed in one of the guesthouses of Santacinnara. We loved it!! In a little town called Soveria Simeri is the accommadation of the Family Fratto. They have a wonderfull agriturismo with 8 houses / accommodations. Our house was more than big enough for 4 people and had a complete kitchen with oven and also an outside kitchen!.
On the day of our arrival we were touched by the warm welcome off the owners; Marjolina and Nana. During our whole stay at Santacinnara they and their doughter Carolina did their very best to please us in every way they could.
The surroundings of the agriturismo are very beautifull. Not only there at Santacinnara, but also nearby. How special is it that you can pick your own fruit and nuts directly from the tree?! We and our two litte boys of 1 and 3 years old, enjoyed the variety of animals (cats, turtles, goats, sheep, gooses, the little horse and more), the swimmingpool, the spectacular view and aspecially the outside-living. We 'tasted' the true ontouched nature of Calabria and its people.

Nearby Santacinnara is enough to see, to do and discover. It is also only 40minutes away from the airport of Lamezia Terme (were we had a very cheap flight)!!! Santacinnara can also be visited in an other season than the summer. We were there in september and it was still very hot.

With 3 families, 5 adults and 7 children this is the place to be. We've never experienced such a warm welcome and hospitality. From booking conversations till waving goodbye it was a great experience. Plenty to do at the premises, great pool, tennis, pingpong, football, many animals, home cooking, bbq, and then beaches around within a 15 min car drive.
The owners are lovely people, really taking care and helping out with everything. (incl a doctors visit !) This is the place to be if you look for laid-back holidays and your children to be active :). We were invited for a birthday celebration with plenty of local food/wine. I guess the beauty of Santacinnara is the unique combination of the best hospitality, location, kids-friendly, away from the crowds yet all at hand. This is really a dream location. Book it. Go there. Enjoy it.

Agriturismo Santacinnara
This is a bit of gem in the hills of Cosenza just 5 km from the Ionian Coast. Difficult to find (Turn at Hotel 106 on SS106 and go 5km towards Soveria Simeri. Donato and Maria Fratelli are the third generation to run this farm and current Agriturismo. Besides the usual fruit and olive trees, this farm has a menagerie of farm animals from pigs, goats, donkeys, horses, geese, goats etc. They produce and sell olive oil as well as other items from the fruit.
There are a number of cottages on the property. The two that we have stayed in (Elena and Silvia); have a loft, with a second bedroom and a very well equipped kitchen.
On warm days there is a nice pool with a great view of the hills. There is nothing nearby so you do need transportation to get there. We have been to Santacinnara twice and plan on going back again.

This Agriturismo is located about 5 km north of state highway 106 a few kilometres east of Catanzaro Lido. It is not on the ocean but more than worth the few kilometres drive.
Hosts are Donato and Maria. The farm has been in their family for 3 generations and they currently have animals and fruit trees all of which are raised with out chemicals.

We had a 2 bedroom, 2 floors apartment with a full kitchen (and full fridge)
Although they cater to weddings etc, dining room was not open. With the full kitchen we were able to buy some groceries and did very well over three days.

Swimming pool gives welcome relief and there is also lots of shade throughout.

The only complaint would be that we found the mattresses not as good as we would have liked,

The farm has a variety of animals and lots of historic implements and machinery.

Donata was constantly asking us if we needed anything. On our departure we received 2 bars of farm made scented soap and also preserves from the farm.
