Nestled into the side of a mountain and surrounded by tropical vegetation on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mexican Pacific Riviera is where you will find this secluded tropical paradise that offers the perfect balance between recreation and relaxation. A private hilltop entrance leads into a stone courtyard with dramatic fountain, where porters escort new arrivals to the open-air reception area. Bright colors, high ceilings, and keyhole views of the Pacific Ocean highlight hotel's striking architecture. Las Brisas Ixtapa is a particular favorite of honeymooners for its romantic setting and rooms with private terraces, all with ocean views.

Las Brisas Ixtapa garners praise for its attentive staff and exceptional cleanliness, with the well-maintained rooms and grounds earning positive remarks. Guests are enamored with the stunning ocean views from the balconies, though the hotel's atmosphere and room amenities receive mixed reviews, highlighting a need for updates. While the beachfront location is a highlight, some travelers report accessibility concerns. The hotel's amenities, including the beach and pools, are generally appreciated, but there's a call for more variety in food services and better value, as some guests cite limited amenities and unexpected extra costs.

First I just wanted to say..... We did have a great time and an awesome holiday. this would have been 4 stars if not for the "all inclusive" and coffee/drink items in the room.
Just a couple of things we observed here that is different from other all inclusive" resorts we have been at. Not all the items on their menu is all inclusive. They have some "Premier" items that you still have to pay for if you want that specific dish. They are a bit skimpy on their room service items. We were a couple and only received one pod of coffee and one pod of decaf every day (even after asking) same goes for the coffee creamer and fridge items. Fridge item limit, 2 pop and two beer, coming only once a day to replenish :)

On the flip side.... the staff were super awesome and friendly. We loved the view from our balcony every morning and every evening. The fact that we had a private beach made this an easy choice. Lots of space and lounge chairs on the beach and great service.Just note, there's a LOT of stairs! they do have an elevator going to the beach but I would say a bit tricky still for someone with a wheelchair. I will definitely come back.

Just a note to management. Perhaps look into upgrading, (fixing) the items in the room for coffee and set a standard for cleaning/replenishing items in the room between all staff.

We have returned here every winter for the past 35 years and still appreciate the beauty that surrounds Las Brias Ixtapa from the vast aqua colored Pacific Ocean to the surrounding mountains. Nature is all around with the many species of birds, flowers and trees; acres of it.

All rooms, which are very clean, comfortable and nicely furnished, face the ocean and have a balcony from which you can view the most magnificent sunsets and the beautiful reds, yellows, oranges and purple of nature’s afterglow. After dark the clear sky provides a vivid view of the stars; like being in a planetarium.

Great friendly staff who make you feel warm and welcome. No request is too small or too large for them to handle. Should any problem arise it is addressed immediately.

The beach is exclusively for guests of this hotel only and very well maintained with a lot of Palapas for shade. There is a restaurant for lunch or snacks right on the beach.

So return with us, pull up a chaise lounge and have a “cervesa muy frío”.

We recently traveled to Las Brisas for our honeymoon, deciding to split up the trip with two nights at a very nice property in Zihuatanejo followed by four nights in Ixtapa…we should’ve stayed in Zihua.
Upon checking into Las Brisas the front desk agent had a very cold and curt demeanor which is not what you want when you’re checking into a hotel.
If you opt out of the all inclusive then you pay for everything in the moment instead of charging it to your room which feels highly inefficient.
The food wasn’t particularly good at any of the locations we tried. My omelette was over cooked and had incorrect ingredients in it at the buffet.
El Mexicano their higher end restaurant has a no shorts policy for men and a no sandals policy for women…at a beach resort. I’m lucky I packed a pair of pants! The staff at El Mexicano was friendly which is a plus but there was a screaming child at the table next to us. Weird to deny people entry because they’re wearing shorts but admit screaming toddlers.
Our last day we decided to upgrade to the Fiesta Suite with its own private pool. Big mistake. The pool was filthy and the coffee table and tv console in the living room were both covered with ants and other bugs. This is strange because it apparently took them three hours to clean the room so I’m not really sure what they were doing in there during that time.
In short, if you’re looking to stay in Ixtapa and not experience anything that the town has to offer then stay at Las Brisas and get the all inclusive. You can sit on the beach and drink Margaritas until you can’t stand up (it’s about $100USD per person per day for the all inclusive which means it’s honestly cheaper to take taxis to Zihua and eat the better food you can find off property).
But if you want to enjoy what Ixtapa has to offer stay somewhere else.

Built 40 years ago by a famous architect, very quiet & surrounded by jungle. It offers a free bicycle tour and an ecological tour. Every room is facing ocean. Best beach with perfect sand & color water. Perfect water temp in January. This is private so only guests are permitted. No vendors to bother you. Easy finding a shade under umbrella. On the full moon the waves were small but as the moon changed waves became big. There is a nice pool available above the ocean among beautiful trees. The hotel more busy from Thursday to Sunday. Wealthy people tend to stay so the crowd is well off. Rooms are very clean and staff is very service oriented. The main buffet were nicely set up with light arrangements, napkins, tables clothes & candle lite. The staff offered a great service, well dressed and presented. What was good you can choose from a menu and take from a buffet as well. As this hotel has two plans All inclusive and European Plan - breakfast only. Most of the dishes from the menu are free of charge except a few selections which can be ordered at 50% off if you have an all inclusive plan. Three restaurants were great. The down side too many stairs to go up and down to beach - though there is an elevator available. Family, couple oriented. Not good for singles. Mostly older clientele people. There is no night entertainment. Wished there would be a live music in the lobby every evening. The food in buffets was good but not outstanding. There could be more selection of seafood.

This was our fourth visit to this resort, so obviously we love the hotel and the grounds. The facility is situated within a lovely forested area. The beach is private and outstanding.
This year we are given to understand that there is new management and this is unfortunately reflected in the subtle attitude of the staff. There has been a noticeable change in personnel. There seems to be an unfortunate underlying current of dissatisfaction and unhappiness. This was sometimes reflected in the level of service provided in the buffet, specialty restaurants, and the beach area.
The setting at La Brisas II is exceptional. What has changed there are the menu items available to the all inclusive patrons. No appetizers are included, only two salad choices, and only the cheapest selection of entrees. For a considered five star facility, this could be considered unacceptable.
As noted in other reviews, the weekends are very busy with an influx of weekend guests. What compounds the issue is that on two separate occasions of our two week stay is that half the beach is roped off to accommodate a wedding and a convention group. Pair that with added guests for the weekend and loud music on the beach and the tranquility of the beach disappears with the seating.
We love the Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa area. We found Las Brisas to be exceptional in the past. Our expectations will have to be lower in the future.

I booked an all inclusive family vacation for 11 of us. I booked through Hotels.com. The hotel has potential but I cannot recommend it right now. The positives are its gorgeous private beach and lovely sea facing rooms. There is a sewage smell that is prevalent in different parts of the hotel such as the upper tennis court and near the lower family pool. If your family has kids under 12 you are restricted to only one of the three dinner restaurants -the buffet restaurant. This rule was not in the description provided by Hotels.com or i wouldn't have booked here. The buffet food was BELOW average! Take out from the other two restaurants wasn't permitted either. The manager wouldn’t help despite knowing we were unaware of the "rules" due to no fault of our own. Expect long lines for tables at breakfast and a long line for fried eggs -only ONE person working that station for the whole resort. Food was never replenished in a timely manner, nor was it replenished unless requested by a guest. The private beach doest have enough chairs/umbrellas. An elevator goes to the beach but the unavoidable few stairs at the entry, are slippery and dangerous as they're never swept. Friendliness of staff was inconsistent and very few spoke any English. There's a baby pool but it's separate from the other pools. Not enough chairs at the family pool and only 1 lifeguard to watch 3 separately located pools. If you have difficulty walking, this hotel is difficult due to stairs and long distances.

We had stayed in Las Brisas in Huatulco last year, so we should it should not have come as a surprise as to our experience. Firstly the positives: very friendly staff, and beautiful beach. The beach has no access other than through the resort, therefore there are no locals trying to sell you trinkets or tours, or braids for your hair. Lots of palapas so not a problem finding a shady spot. Smoking is not discouraged on the beach, although there were few smoking. Now the negatives: the check in staff do a poor job of telling you what's going on. For example, there was a large open buffet with a live band set up very nicely on one of the outdoor patios one evening. It looked like it was set up for a private party but was very poorly attended. We and others only found out a few days later that it was open for anyone to attend. Also, we were on the meal plan, but again we only found out by other staying there that in the buffet restaurants we could also have ordered off the menu. Other than maybe a piano player in the lobby bar, there is no entertainment at the resort.

As for food, one of the benefits of eating in Mexico is the wide variety of freshly grilled fish. However this was only available in one of the specialty restaurants. We ate at two of the specialty restaurants: Portofino and Las Brisa II. Both offer excellent service and good food. However, Portofino is inside with no windows to see the beautiful view. Air conditioning keeps the temperature a bit chilly. Las Brisa II offers a much more authentic experience with the ocean below. The main buffet Bellevista we tended to avoid after our visit there the first night. Since we were only permitted 3 visits to the specialty restaurants, we ended up taking a short taxi ride into the village and ate at some nice local places. We would also recommend upgrading to the Club package as you have your own lounge for breakfast and happy hour.

The pools are very nice, and the adults-only pool was a good size and very separate from the family pools. Staff very attentive, and the Solarium restaurant in the pool area was good for lunches. Our biggest complaint was that they allowed smoking around the pools.

In all, Las Brisas is a beautiful location with friendly staff, but don't go there expecting a excellent culinary experience.

Las Brisas Ixtapa
This was our second stay at Las Brisas. It is a lovely hotel. We enjoyed the ocean view and terrace with hammock. The pools are fabulous! We ate at the BellaVista Restaurant buffet which suited a carnivore and a vegetarian. Menu varied. Light meals/snacks were purchased at La Mescalarea: yogurt, fruit, salads and sandwiches, freshly made by the accommodating staff.
You cannot pay staff for the genuine caring they gave us. It comes from the heart. Concierge Eduardo treated us like family. We were provided a wheelchair and access to Bellavista via a service entrance. Housekeeping, porters, cooks, waiters treated us like royalty, appearing out of nowhere to open doors and escort us. Pharmacy supplies were delivered at no extra cost. All of our needs were provided for promptly, efficiently and with love. Las Brisas gets 5 stars for its hospitality.

We have been going to this property for many years. We have found the staff and the service to be top notch. The setting is amazing, with extensive grounds that are great for nature lovers and a fabulous private beach. The hotel is kept in good repair and they have recently upgraded the mattresses. Wifi access is excellent throughout the hotel. The hotel came under new management a few of years ago and some of the changes have changed the feel of the hotel from a luxury getaway to a run of the mill all-inclusive focusing on volume and bottom line. If you choose the all-inclusive option, not only are you limited to the number of meals at the gourmet restaurants, the menus have very limited choices that are not an up charge. An up charge on high end items such as lobster or filet mignon is understandable and expected, but they have gone overboard with the up charges and it makes them look cheap. Also, lunch is not included on the last day of your stay. We arrive late in the afternoon and the only meal we have on arrival day is dinner. This is also one of the things that makes them seem cheap. Towel cards have gone the way of the dinosaur everywhere but here. Having to present a card to get a towel is so last century! We also miss our water and beer being served in a bucket of ice. That was a stand out service which has now disappeared. There are great things that have stayed the same, such as no loud music blaring at the pools and beach, every room has a great ocean view, and the food and service are outstanding. We will still come back because the staff are fantastic and the sunsets viewed from the lobby bar are the best!

Let me start by saying that this is the second Brisas property we visit, the other one is in Huatulco, and this one did not disappoint. The signature Brisas treatment we expected, was achieved beyond our expectations.
The property is secluded in a cove with a sandy beach that stretches over 1/4 mile, and when the tide is low you can snorkel close to the rocks where you can observe marine life.
The service is top notch, you'll find people that are eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
We were there during covid times, andstaff always observed good practices, that made us feel safe. The only problem we had, is the local tourists who forget to wear the a mask when moving through the property, and although most of them did, there was always someone that walked next to you in the walkways or stood by your beach table, or stood by your side on the pool and the private security guards were not really enforcing the rules, which are mandatory.

Our rooms were good, first we had a grand room on the 11th floor with a great view, and a short walk to the pool. Our second room was a Fiesta suite with a private pool, on the 18th floor, we had a great time there because we had a pool to ourselves, and not worry about other people coming too close, as in the community pool other guests would come often too close for comfort, as if covid didn't spread with your head over water, and again guard/lifeguard did nothing to enforce social distancing.

You can tell the age of the resort but is very well kept, everything works as it should, we had only one issue with our pool lights not coming on, but maintenance was quickly to fix them.

The food choices are limited because of covid but the quality is there, everything was tasty and fresh, we specially enjoyed the seafood treats such as Tiritas, Tuna Aguachile, the quesadillas troncones at the Brisa I beach hut, and Red Snapper fillet, and the pozole in the restaurante El Mexicano.
I can't express enough how well we were treated by the staff, but special thanks to Bernardo who helped us navigate through constant booking changes due to Covid; To Blanca in the front lobby who managed to meet our request for room upgrade, always with a great attitude; to Belisario whose sense of humor and character made us feel welcomed, we had the pleasure to had him as our waiter 3 times! To Victor in the pool and Margarito in the beach hut, these guys were always checking on us keeping our drinks topped, always with a great attitude and I'm sure all of them had a big smile on their face, too bad we couldn't see it because of the face mask.
Needless to say, we will be visiting again, hopefully sooner than later.

A dark and light local beer is included. And yes there is a dress code for restaurants. it is on their website when you choose dining. It’s with the description of each restaurant what the dress code is.

Yes you can do that, and yes you need reservations at Portofino and the Mexican restaurants. However, it will cost you SO much more than if paying all inclusive. For example, our flight was leaving later in the day so we did a La carte lunch at the buffet and it was $35 each! We also went to Portofino a-la-carte and it was around $125 for two. Have fun!
