Staying here last weekend was a great experience. a Beautiful setting only 30 minutes drive from Milan Malpensa, and a short drive to Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, Cascina Cesarina is a real gem. The hosts are wonderful and the scenery is beautiful. Franco's homegrown vegetables are also a real treat. The swimming pool, basketball court and hammocks are an... More

Thanks for your glowing review, Henry. It was a pleasure hosting you, just a shame you couldn't stay longer as there is so much more to see and do for keen cyclists and sportsmen like you than can be fitted into a weekend. We hope to see you again for a longer stay - and if cycling and/or trekking the... More

Our kids still talk about the friendly dogs, Lorraines cooking, Francos smile and still ask when we shall return. This was the best stay in all of Italy for us. Our 10 year old has celiac disease, and traveling Italy was sometimes difficult. What a relief it was to arrive at Lorraine and Francos where they have excelent knowledge and... More

Thank you for your kind words. I can only return the compliment - your children were the two most delightful and exquisitely-mannered young people we have had the pleasure of hosting this year - A's English was amazing and little E, despite the language barrier, gave us lots of "Hello"s and "thank you"s. I am glad you all enjoyed our... More

I received such a warm welcome from Lorraine and Franco, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable room and lots of excellent food and wine (all the fruit and vegetables are home grown, foraging for mushrooms with Franco is a 'must do'). Plenty of interesting places to explore and the combination of mountains and lakes is intoxicating. Thoroughly recommended.

Thank you for your kind words. You were a wonderful guest, so interested in everything nature has to offer even in the off-season (off-season for tourists, certainly not for mushroom-lovers). I am glad you managed to catch the final days in which Villa Taranto gardens were open, and thank you for sharing your magnificent photos. I particularly liked the one... More

Really loved the fresh vegetables and fruit from the large garden. Rooms comfortable and clean, although hot water pressure a problem! Lorraine and Franco are a very interesting couple making the experience well worthwhile.

Thank you for your kind words. You visited when our 'forest fruits' were at their very best, so we could offer you a fruit salad made of freshly-picked raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, red and white currants, red and green gooseberries, with home-made gooseberry ice cream... as well as all the vegetables Franco lovingly tends all season. It is a shame you... More

A large group of us went to Cascina Cesarina over the summer, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The house itself is beautiful. The rooms are great - very clean but really have that rustic feel so it feels like a unique experience. The hosts were so welcoming - we really felt at home. Plus, Lorraine is a native English... Thank you for your kind words. It was great to have you here again, and to meet the new friends you introduced us to. Most of our guests are so busy touring the beautiful surroundings that they don't always take the time to relax and enjoy the pool, barbecue, basketball, ping pong... or relaxing in the hammocks and enjoying the... Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you all enjoyed your stay with us - Italian dinners and English-style breakfasts are usually highly popular all round! Even though we had a short stay it was altogether wonderful: the location is beautiful - with the forest just at the door of the B&B - and with the swimming pool in it! The warmth of the owners, and therefore of the general atmosphere is very welcoming and put us at our ease immediately. An exemplary B&B.

Thank you for your kind words. You were also very pleasant guests - good practice for my French too!
