Wasn't really impressed with our duck lunch choice. Duck cooked quite rare, the potato Boulanger was over cooked and the size of a cigarette packet. Served with some bland vegetable. Thick jus poured all over which was very salty. Pricey for a very average lunch,

Needing a good lunch venue for bored city clients? We took our group of 5 ever hungry picky diners here and they loved it. It was a lovely sunny day but we chose to sit inside as we wanted to talk. There was a good choice of food , our group chose chicken on risotto, haddock and chips, and superb...

Stayed here for 1 night while on Business with a colleague last month. As last time we had a very warm welcome on arrival & was happy to stay in the large room I had last visit ( ground floor right at the back left hand side) . We had travelled down late so it was a quick shower /...

I use The winning post regularly for both lunches and dinners. Visited with friends and had the best meal I have had there for a couple of years. The crispy duck salad was very tasty as were the scallops. Service can be mixed but overall was very good this time, keep it up, I will be back again soon.

We had room 3 for a night while we were on our trip to Windsor. We also ate in the restaurant. The staff are really lovely and friendly. We both had steak and sticky toffee pudding. It's not a negative, but my partner doesn't eat cheese / dairy or fish, so there wasn't a lot he could have for the...

Me and my colleague stayed here for two night in a Standard Twin Room, rooms were nice and cosy, very clean and one of the best showers I've had in a hotel. We had an evening meal on one of the nights and the platter of fillet steak was to die for. Cooked to perfection and a wide variety of...

The food is absolutely lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was brilliant. We stayed one night whilst visiting Windsor Castle and then moved on to Stonehenge. This Inn is well known in the area and beyond for its food and standards. Absolutely brilliant stay, thank you to everyone. Tall people need to learn to duck under...

Arrived on a wild stormy night, late for dinner and our booking and opened the door of a very attractive old inn to a warm and welcoming buzz of noise - the place was full. The staff had no problems with our late arrival and suggested checking in after dinner - proactive, we liked it. There were plenty of staff...

Second stay and not disappointed. Room 8 was difficult with just a bath but the twin downstairs was really comfy. Could just do with a slightlt wider single if possible or option to join them. Food is fantastic and breakfast beautifully served and very tasty. Sometimes deliveries in the morning can delay check out and blick cars at the back...
