My friend and I visted the half way house last week for lunch as had been recommended by a mutual friend. The first we noticed was the lack of tacky signs of the previous occupants and new signage. The pub is well decorated and still has the old charm of the old Inn. We were welcomed by a pleasant young... More

We had a lovey lunch today, everything was fab - food hot and lots of choice with the Sunday carvery. My only criticism and the reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the lack of a vegetarian option to go with the carvery. There are lots of veggitarians out there, and it would be great to be taken into... We traveled from Dover on 25th October to stay over for one night as we were going to a funeral the next day. It was an horrendous 8 hour journey. We arrived at the Halfway House Inn about 6pm exhausted not knowing what to expect as we have never been here before. But what a huge surprise!!. We have never... More

We visited here after seeing its facelift and hearing it had changed hands. The food is wonderful, one of the best meals I've had in a long while. It has a wonderfully warm ambience from the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly and efficient without being intrusive, it is clean and well finished. I would thoroughly recommend it... More

We were welcomed on arrival and given a table in a quiet area which was great as we did not feel our celebrations were affecting other customers. The food was presented beautifully, everyone got there meal at the same time and it was all piping hot. Every member of our party was very pleased with their meal. Even the dog... More

We visited the Halfway House Inn for a family Sunday lunch. We all opted for the carvery roast- three meats, stuffing, roast and rosemary potatoes, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, parsnips, mashed swede, the best ever Yorkshire puddings, plus much, much more.....Food was good quality, hot and plentiful! Despite being very full, we could not refuse the wonderful array of desserts!... More

Whilst visiting friends nearby we decided to try this refitted Inn as word was that it was good and much improved. From the moment we entered we were greeted by very attentive staff and as we sat down at our table our drinks arrived along with some wonderful bread and a pre starter, beautiful. Our steaks were first class and... More

Went to this recently reopened pub for an evening meal. Friendly welcome. Water on table. Ordered food. Bread arrived and then a fantastic amuse bouche of sardine in curry dressing which was tasty and unexpected. Just as well we did not have starters as the mains were tasty, well presented and a good size. I had succulent duck, the others... More

We went to Halfway House, on Cornwall's Atlantic Highway just west of Wadebridge for lunch today, maybe it's called 'Halfway' because diners don't even get halfway through the meal before deciding to leave a review on TA!!. We've recently moved to this area of Cornwall from West Penwith and this is the 1st time we've had a meal which compares... More

Managed to squeeze in for Sunday lunch today and it was superb! The staff were great and very helpful, the carvery was delicious and generous and by the look of it, word has got out that food is great as it was a full house. Book up for next Sunday, you won't be disappointed!
