First time visiting for me, the place is very warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very quick and very nice, the ribeye steak i had was cooked brilliantly and the chips are the nicest chips i have had in a pub. Would recommend to anyone, the log burners are nice and warm :)

I came in last Thursday with my family, the atmosphere in the pub and restaurant was perfect; not to loud but could however still feel people having an enjoyable evening. Looking at both the vegetarian options and the selections of steaks was a tough choice, however the fillet seemed like a great treat over Christmas. The meat was cooked to...

Excellent menu choices for dinner. Portions are very good and prices very reasonable. Plaice goujons were crispy and delicious, the white crabmeat starter was so fresh and the fish soup almost a meal in itself. Rib eye, fillet and sirloin steaks were perfectly cooked, the hake was substantial and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the home made chips but we couldn't eat...

Following a cookery demonstration at the Padstow Christmas Festival, talented chef Henk de Villiers Ferraira was back at the helm last night and we were treated to yet another superb meal. An amuse bouche of lightly curried Hake and home-made bread followed by beautifully dressed, mouthwatering crab and a main course of succulent Hake with butterbean cassoulet; delicious! My guests...

My friend and I visted the half way house last week for lunch as had been recommended by a mutual friend. The first we noticed was the lack of tacky signs of the previous occupants and new signage. The pub is well decorated and still has the old charm of the old Inn. We were welcomed by a pleasant young...

We had a lovey lunch today, everything was fab - food hot and lots of choice with the Sunday carvery. My only criticism and the reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the lack of a vegetarian option to go with the carvery. There are lots of veggitarians out there, and it would be great to be taken into...

We arrived at the Halfway House Inn about 6pm exhausted not knowing what to expect as we have never been here before. But what a huge surprise!!. We have never...
