The hotel is in a fabulous location but that is where the good news ends. It is cold and damp with no natural light or heating in the rooms. The rooms were freezing and when we asked for extra blankets were told "no!" There are no tea or coffee making facilities and the bathrooms are dated and only two towels... More

You get what you pay for ... admittedly good location. The room had no windows, the mattress was stiff, the hotel run down. However, the rates are quite low, they do have free parking and wifi (in the common areas as the signal did not reach our room) ... and the location is great ... therefore my average rating and... Rooms are large. Front rooms have large windows with sheer curtains. I could hear my neighbor's conversations through the walls. Light from spotlight comes in at night and traffic noise starts up at 6:00 a.m. Not for light sleepers. I changed to interior room 110. A little drab, but it was quiet and dark when I turned out the lights.... More

Definitely they are not a 4 stars hotel. Dark and old mani area, dorm big (its good) buttt without heating (zero degrees outside, and the room had 2 big windows), a bad-illuminate bathroom that makes impossible take a real shower at night, dont have a really hot water (only warm), and the curtains are not 'black-out'.

This was my second stay in this place, it was by luck since the first one also just looked for a cheap place to crash. The room was a little pricey for 2 people, but since it was 4 of us it didnt felt like too much. The location is perfect. They have parking place and a restaurant in the... More

Room 102 is wonderful: spacious with high ceilings, hardwood floors, recessed lighting, huge closets and a step-out window with a fantastic view of the Teleferico bufa and the charming street below. The beds are cozy with warm duvets (December + Zacatecas = cold). The only adjustment for some travelers may be the tiny shower, which has an accordion-fold door, no... More

If you don't want to spend a lot of pesos and want to be in the heart of the historic center, you won't go wrong with this hotel. There are some beautiful expensive hotels in the heart of the city too, it all depends on your taste and budget. I like historic old hotels and this one fit the budget... More

This hotel is typical of older Mexican independent budget hotels. It's quite spartan by American standards and features such things as extremely dim lighting (it wouldn't hurt to bring along a 100W equivalent CFL bulb), firm springless mattress on a very low bedstead (very common in Mexican homes), and an obvious look of being worn around the edges. The hotel... More

I stayed here 3 nights recently. The hotel was nothing special. with rooms that are clean, comfortable enough and plenty spacious, However they are drab, a bit rundown, can be noisy, not all have windows and some can be cold at night so not quite sure how one can rate this 5 stars. The staff is friendly and are willing... More

“Room 102: I clipped the sheer curtains together, put in my ear plugs and put on my eye mask. The noise quiets down at night. Starts up again at 6:00 a.m. Very noisy. All buildings and sidewalks have spotlights installed so that the entire historic center is theatrically lit. No black-out curtains. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an interior room.”
