Everything about the Cantera Diez hotel is a great experience, except that it can be a little noisy from the bells and activities around the Cathedral. I would still stay there again when I return to Morelia.

Thank you very much for your comments, in the suites we have earplugs for our guests , but we know that may not be enough to avoid the noise of the bells of the cathedral. On your next visit we invite you to know the interior suites. We hope to see you on your next visit to Morelia Regards

The hotel is in a beautiful old convent that was also a bank in a previous incarnation. We stayed in the Cantera Suite and one of the Master Suites, both of which blended elements of the old, colonial building with a new, eclectic aesthetic that was glamorous, but less sophisticated than it could've been. Parts of it were over the...

My wife and I had an excellent Stay at Cantera 10. We stayed in Suite Cantera and it's as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The location was excellent with restaurants and shops within steps of the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious. The view of the Cathedral is stunning. Light sleepers be warned,...

There is no way I can adequately describe the beauty and feeling of this gorgeous palace. Also, no way a photo can capture its intimacy, yet grandeur! I want to also mention the fantastic friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff! Miriam made our stay perfect, and also helped us avoid a disaster of a logistical mistake in visiting other areas....

I second all the praise in other reviews. The hotel is beautiful, the location perfect. But every room should come equipped with a 12 year old to conquer the technological obstacles that face us who are over 50 - from a strange device within the immense shower, AC that seemed to reset itself at will, a strange black box in...

Everything started well: gorgeous palace, beautiful decoration, very nice room... Then came New Year's Eve dinner, which you absolutely want to avoid, especially at outrageous 700 pesos each! Soup was nothing but starch, arrachera (beef) was by far the worst you'll get to eat in Mexico, and so on, until a frozen dessert... made of pure fat and tasting of...

This place takes my breath away and was a totally unexpected surprise. Cantera Diez is the perfect blend of old world charm and modern design. History seeps through its walls while modern artwork inspires and awes. No doubt this is one of my top 5 favorite hotels in the world and I say this after 40 years of traveling. The...

This was my wedding night hotel. I lived in Morelia for 5 years and never knew the level and degree of excellenge that this hotel has. I highly recommend it for couples willing to spend some days in this magical city, and if possible ask for the grand suit that has a balcony in front of Morelia's cathedral.

What a terrific building in such a wonderful location. It is all suites and we got lucky and scored an upgrade to one of their top rooms. Enormously spacious with balconies looking straight out onto the cathedral. The building has been beautifully converted, a huge public space on the first floor with coffee and biscuits (cookies!) constantly on tap. Really...
