I stayed here one night on a group trip to visit the El Rosario Monarch Sanctuary. We arrived in the afternoon and the staff arranged our check-out very efficiently so we could take full advantage of the hiking trails, waterfalls, animals, birds and plants in and around the resort. They had a full menu of massages, facials, treatments and a...

The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Simple furnishings, i.e. bed, wardrobe, chairs but no tea/coffee facilities, safe or hair-dryer. The surroundings are stunning: semi-tropical gardens, waterfalls and rivers. Lots of pretty walks to take. The swimmings pools are filled with mineralised waters so are slightly murky but don't let this put you off. The restaurant serves a...

This is a wonderful place to be surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and birds while soaking in mineral waters. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and hospitable. My partner and I were very comfortable. We recommend buying the meal option because it's not easy to get to good restaurants. They provide a nice menu and buffet on weekends.

I stayed here with my family while on Jose Luis Alvarez's eco tour of the El Rosario Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. I have to think the hotel is the nicest in the area. Rooms are lovely. Restaurant is beautiful. Food is delicious. Common rooms are welcoming with plenty of spaces for private conversations and board games. Bar has everything you could...

We stayed here for 6 nights at the start of February 2016. The location for visiting the Monarch butterflies is ideal and takes about 45 minutes to the main reserve of El Rosario. We found the spring water pools very relaxing and warm. The water was changed daily. The hotel is set in a beautiful canyon near Jungapeo. The hotel...

Located in a canyon and surrounded by jacaranda trees you will find an oasis of calm. There are mineral pools, a spa and lovely hosts. There are walks to be taken, waterfalls to visit and the perfect place to spend a peaceful afternoon. And there is an opossum named Terry. He shares the animal quarters with rabbits, donkeys, sheep...you get...

Simple but great place. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Ok rooms with traditional decoration. Nature around is just fantastic - small caves, waterfalls, flowers. The pools are warm 31°C, not hot, but ok enough even in February. We spent one night here during our Mariposa Monarca travels (El Rosario Sanctuary is about 1 hour drive). It was nice since Jungapeo...

The place is known for the thermal bath. And the Monarca butterflies sanctuary close by. We went as a group of family and friends - tweens up to Grandma, who needed to recover from a surgery. There were activities for all ages and physical conditions. The first evening we were welcomed with a "temascal" (a sort of old indigenous sauna...

The location in this place is absolutely amazing, the canyon is almost magical. I truly have never seen such an amazing location. The spa is wonderful, believe me. This place is almost a Michoacan secrer, only regulars and locals know about this place. It certainly makes you feel special.
