It has been a great experience from the moment I stepped in. Michele, the owner, is simply amazing and will puy you at ease trying his best to accomodate your requests. The place itself is marvellous, quite, clean, peaceful and literally five minutes from everything you need. I higly recommend this place!!!

My husband and I spent four nights in this lovely old Italian home, set in the middle of olive trees and ideally situated to tour the west and north west coast of Sicily. We had an upstairs bedroom in the main house, complete with fourposter bed and a large bathroom with bath as well as shower for soaking away the...

This was just what my sister and I were looking for, a peaceful area just a 15 minute drive from Trapani, and only 50 mins from Palermo Airport along fantastic (EU funded) roads. When we entered the Baglio through the imposing wooden gate we found the most amazing courtyard with a lovely fountain trickling its water. I don't think Margherita...

On the outskirts of Paceco are two B I 's - one on the P29 and this one on the S115 so be aware. The S115 is quite a busy road and although Baglio Ingardia is quite close you are not aware of any traffic noise. It certainly is a remarkable property with some lovely antique furniture, the bedrooms on...

It was quite an wrench leaving Michele, Marguerite and Rosa, the hosts, by the end of our week, they were so warm and could not have done more for us. The breakfasts they served us were a highlight and an education. They are justifiably very proud of their Sicilian cuisine and wanted to give us a wide experience of it...

Sicilians may have adopted the concept and expression from us, but there the comparison ends. We have never been anywhere else where a week's breakfasts were 7 unrepeated and delicious treats to start each day. Our three hosts were so welcoming, enthusiastic and informative. Staying with a family gives you a much richer experience as a visitor, (especially if you...

We had a great visit. Very conveniently located for visiting lots of sites of interest in western Sicily (though you do need a car). The 18th century "baglio" , which has been in the family since then, is run by Michele, his sister and mother who were charming and very attentive to our every need and request. We had a most...

The Sicilian word 'baglio' describes a rectangular building or compound with a central courtyard that was used for agriculture-related activities, usually winemaking. The word is used predominantly in western Sicily, and appears more and more frequently in names of hotels and guest houses, presumably as a means of attracting tourist business. Who knows if those places were truly baglios? But...

What a wonderful place to spend a few days or a week in this grand baglio located in the heart of western Sicily! Michele and his family provide their guests with the warmest of welcomes, excellent food, and stunning accommodations, without intrusion! During our two trips to Baglio Ingardia we visited nearby Trapani, historic Erice, the cantina Florio, and the...

“We preferred to have an upstairs room in the main house, as there was a small balcony from which you could see the sea in the distance. The rooms on the ground floor have the advantage of having a small kitchenette, however we found them rather dark.”

“Rooms on the ground floor great to sleep in, lulled by the sound of the water fountain and early morning singing from Tiffany.”

“It's a genuine baglio (high walls enclosing a courtyard), with no view of the countryside from the internally-facing ground floor rooms. These s/c units (Wi-fi available) have a charming, rustic appeal and well-appointed bathrooms, but limited space leads to our 'average' rating.”
