Nestled near the picturesque beach and the charming San Jose del Cabo, Royal Solaris Los Cabos garners praise for its location and the warm, attentive service offered by its staff. While the hotel boasts family-friendly amenities and a vibrant atmosphere with lively entertainment, some guests have called out the need for updates and additional pool lounges.
Room conditions have received mixed reviews, highlighting maintenance and cleanliness issues. Furthermore, concerns over the value proposition are evident, with particular emphasis on food quality and reservation processes.

Detailed Reviews
This is a nice option for an all inclusive resort in the Hotel area of San Jose del Cabo. It's a much quieter location than Cabo San Lucas, but also walking distance to a more traditional town, which we did every other day.
The property really is quite nice overall. The lobby, pools, and grounds are on par for a 4.5 or 5 star resort. The rooms are less fancy, more what you expect from a hotel in this price range, though they do have big balconies and decent washrooms. The food was variable, like most all inclusive hotels in the price range: Panchos (a la carte) was great, and the snack bar/pizzas were reliably yummy. We had guacamole and fried fish almost every day, twice a day :) Drinks were great, they never ran out of our favorite cocktails, cappuccinos in the lobby bar were well done.
Wifi was fine, surprisingly good coverage right out to the beach.
Beach is nice for walking but of course not swimmable due to strong swell.
Kids area is amazing for most ages. waterslides, structures, large shaded pool. We would return simply for this, as our little guy spent hours on end here.
There are certainly areas where it lacked; sometimes it was exceedingly difficult to find a lounger by the pool or on the beach. We also made a room request (groundfloor) through Expedia and when we arrived it wasn't available. They couldn't guarantee a crib either, sadly, so we had to pack a play pen. Just little quirks that they could do better at.
Overall, nice place, would visit again, great for families, great value for the money, ideal location for those not wanting to party and deal with the noise levels in Cabo San Lucas.

Stayed here january 2020, familly of 8 including 2 small kids. We have stayed all over San Jose at various resorts and this one is a good value and everything we look for when traveling.
It's a little older hotel, but very well maintained, super clean throughout (our number one expectation) smaller restaurants and buffet, but something for everyone and very GOOD food. I find it hard to food wise when I am in Mexico in general, and pretty much eat just to eat but uneven have to say incouldnalways fond something. The a la Cartes are good (taco night at Panchos is amazing), easy to book, despite other reviews, the best thing about this place is the staff, hard to single out just a few because they are all so good, but Jonathan and Pancho at the buffet were tops, never let your glass get empty, remember your drinks and even go above and beyond what they probably should;)
The theater is small compared to other resorts, but the shows we saw were great, my kids still want to go see the Micheal Jackson show again which was great. We never had the decscribed experience with the pushy timeshare people at all either. The beach is starting to get back to the "pre 2015" hurricane quality and you can even venture in a little ways tontge water with the former soft fine sand nearer the water.

+1
We chose this resort to celebrate our 21st anniversary and have a quick get away. Instantly we were pleased to see how safe the property is with 24 hour security. Plus the area where these resorts are located is more upscale.
The check-in process with Tiffany at the front desk was fast and efficient. Despite not getting a free possible room upgrade that we were told, she still hooked us up with a great bottle of champagne. The room was basic but very clean and spacious. They cleaned our room daily, changed our bed sheets, fill up the mini fridge & provided fresh bath & beach towels.
Due to the pandemic, the resort wasn’t too crowded and so the pools, beach front and the restaurants were very safe to be in. All of the staff had their masks & gloves on and respected and distancing that was necessary. The food was great and delicious & the staff made sure that they accommodated our every request(specially on our cocktails).
The evening dance show was very colorful, festive and a great way to lift the guest’s spirits. They also had a DJ & a dance floor right outside the theater, incase you didn’t want to end the night too early. Also, they are just a 15 minute walk to the town center - Plaza Mijares which is the Arts district & had a great night market.
Now, as much as I want to give them all praises, like most resorts, they too are a TIME SHARE trap. I had to just put my foot down & instantly told Ronnie(at concierge) that we are not interested in their 90 minute presentation. They will try to offer you free land tours, spa treatments, discounts, etc. to the point of practically begging us to just “help him out” & and say yes. But if you’re beyond allergic to time share pressure like us, just say NO & they should respect that. Nothing is worse than annoying your customer at check in! So thanks Ronnie for respecting our request.
All in all, it was a great 4 night stay at this resort. We would still recommend it. They are professional, accommodating and most importantly LGBTQ friendly. Thank you!

We stayed here January 13 to the 22. We were 3 families 11 people in total. I can say I write this review for all of us as we all felt the same way. I can also say That I’m a traveller with lots of experience in different countries and many resorts. I will start from the beginning. Check in was a breeze not all 3 rooms were ready but they put our stuff all in one until they were which only took an hour tops before we all had rooms. The rooms were very clean with an optional third bed that comes from the wall which was perfect for teenaged brothers that won’t share a bed. Bathroom was roomy with walk in showers. Beds were comfortable and was nice sleeping in rooms with not a bug in sight.
The pool was nice and clean, water could have been a little warmer but weather didn’t help in that department either. Getting chairs was a challenge, you had to get down early and reserve them or you wouldn’t get one in the sun. Lots of shady spots around the pool. Beach was ok not really a beach person other than for walks, really not a safe place to swim in this location anyways but it was always clean. Lots of locals trying to sell you things but left you alone if you didn’t show interest. Drinks were great unless you are a rye whisky drinker. Not a bottle in sight unless you had vip bar privilege. So we had to goto town to buy a couple bottles to get us threw.
Now the food. By far the worst selection I’ve ever seen at a resort. I would say even Cuba resorts were better than this. I was shocked at all the good reviews before we left only to find what we got. Maybe it was just a bad week but it was very tough to find a good meal. They only had food at the pool snack bar twice the entire week, and pizza was ok if you could wait 40 minutes to get it. Even the restaurants were not great so by the forth day we had all our dinners off the resort. Luckily right across the road they have a few great places. Rock and brews was my favourite place to hang out every night.
The best part of this resort was the workers. All worked hard and provided great service. The resort itself is very nice and well kept unfortunately the food just doesn’t compare with everything else.
I would not go back but if your someone just looking for a nice resort and food is not that important than it’s worth a try.

This is our fifth time to The Royal Solaris in San Jose Del Cabo. This time in the midst of the Covid so there were some changes.
As always we were greeted so warmly by Alberto, swiftly taking our luggage and disinfecting it, he sent us through the booth to be "cleaned" ourselves. It was quick and painless as was check in, the people at the front desk have always been very kind and respectful, never an issue, this time was no exception. The only thing I wasn't really happy with for check in was that we were ushered over to the "membership/welcome" desk before we could get our room key. It only took an extra 10 minutes of saying no thank you, over several times and we were off with our key and a nice ground floor room awaited us. Alberto soon delivered our clean luggage with that wonderful smile he always has and we settled in, err, got into our shorts and flip flops and headed for the beach bar and did a shot to welcome ourselves once again, it's tradition!
The food this time was not quite as plentiful as our other visits, understandably though slightly disappointed in the quality of the buffet this time. The pool snack bar is pretty much the same as is the pizza. The biggest disappointment for us in the food department was both the sushi and ceviche bar were non existent the entire visit. We look forward to both and really missed them. I mean the sushi bar is so easy to set up and small and doesn't take a lot of oversight, I don't understand that one being closed/gone.
The bars were all open just like before, and I wanted to give a shout out to Augustine at the pool bar, he was our favorite and his drinks were consistent and he was nice. Janeth in the lobby bar is on point as always, I don't think the lobby bar could function with out her!
As always our favorite waiters, Jonathon, and el Capitan, Victor were there to be sure we had everything we wanted. They are so friendly and we adore them.
Lucy was cooking up a storm at the Omelet Station each morning and she is so lovely.
The shows were not presented each night as before, seemed like every other night. But as always entertaining. We waited several nights for past nightly entertainment in the lobby, like girls vs boys night and maybe a little karaoke, but they never happened and we gave up, tried to find some outside venues and those too were sparse. So turned in relatively early each evening, that being like 11:30ish for us
All in all its still a wonderful hotel, the staff are what make it our go to vacation spot. We feel at home the minute we pull in the driveway and are treated like royalty and we are not members.
We love this little gem, the location, the long beach walks, the pools and hot tub and the overall family atmosphere keep us coming back a couple times a year for R&R.

We love this resort! The beach server, Guillermo, is the best!! Jonathan in the buffet is very attentive and super nice! we had room 606 which is the top floor facing the ocean. We had 2 double beds and a rollaway in our room as requested. The bathrooms are large,a/c is cool, bar fridge was stocked with 2 large bottles of water and 4 beers whever we needed. We'll definitely come back to this resort when we return for our third visit at a later date!!

The hotel has a terrible front desk service from the moment you arrive. They have a very impolite “trainee” who is not friendly at all. Their cleaning service doesn’t show up on your room until after 3 or 4 pm, so if you expect to have a clean room or towels, don’t try to go before that time. Some waiters are rude to guests, specially during lunch time. In the pool you can see people swimming literally with shorts and t-shirts, and the food is terrible. They serve pretty much the same every day. One of the elevators was broken so you had to wait in line for it sometimes, and the card for the room gave a lot of trouble. Would definir not go back ever. Also, if you plan to do some activities like snorkeling or going to the arch, expect to have to commute for 30-35 minutes. Important: no swimming is allowed on the sea anywhere near the hotel, so consider that as well.

Hotel has lots of activities to do for everyone. I had a toddler so their kids’s pool with a bunch of kiddie slides and playground area was perfect. I suggest that the hotel have a staff there to take snack/drinks orders as it is away from the main pool area where the pizza, snacks, and drinks are located. The restaurant food was so-so but edible if you are not picky. Also, the staff was great and provided excellent service whenever you need them. The pool bar makes the best drinks. The housekeeping staff was excellent in cleaning the room and there’s a person that stocks up the fridge - water, beer and soda. I had a room with a showered bathroom and the balcony can see a little water view. There’s a gate in front of the hotel so anyone coming in with a vehicle has to check in. The beach has big waves so we just took some selfies but didn’t go into the water. There’s a staff next to the shower area that will warn you about the waves and not to go into the water saying the water is deep - very considerate. There’s plenty of lounge chairs around too.

We have been coming to Royal Solaris for 15 years. We are rarely disappointed and this year was no exception! With COVID 19 we were concerned, but after talking with staff and learned of all the precautions they had put in place to protect us and their staff, we committed to supporting them. We were not disappointed!!! The only area for improvement was transportation to hotel, but we were prepared. We had wipes to wipe seats down and seat belts and sanitizer to clean hands. When we arrived our excellent bell captain, Omar was there to greet us and showed us into an ozone booth. We stepped in booth for 15 seconds. Our luggage also got sanitized. All over the resort there were sanitizing mats to walk on hand sanitizer at the ready. Staff kept mask on including maids and security. The buffets were still open, but your plate was dished up by a staff member and you were held back away from food that was also covered by a sneeze guard. If you didn’t want to stand in line the dining room staff are happy take care of you and grab a plate for you. Great job to Gilberto, Martin, Josue and most of all Alex!!! He’s the best! Our favorite table was set for us with all our drinks and special requests he knows we enjoy. Don’t forget to grab an omelette or eggs from the best cook, Lucy!! She retires in September. The lead host and hostess are excellent as well. Our main man Victor!! Thank you my friend also kudos to Angel and Maribel. All lounge chairs were socially distant unless you were family, there was 12 of us this year and we were all able to be together. The chairs were washed and sanitized each night. The pool bar was the only place where social distancing was difficult. Outstanding bar staff will wait on you hand and foot, whether you choose to go to bar or stay at your pool chair. Well done Ramon, Ventura, Edwardo, Raul and Augustin. The entertainment staff did an excellent job with games and shows considering COVID. A big shoutout to Anussca, Maggie (Hogie’s favorite!) Brenda, and JJ . Even our reservationist, Nubia makes it easy to keep coming to this resort and I cannot forget to mention Hector and Cesar in VIP guest services. This outstanding team is lead by Jose Romero well done sir.
Thank you very much! See you all next year!

I must admit we had a rough first impression we were placed on the first floor and found our room very dark and a little musty. But I brought my concerns to front desk and asked to be moved and they were excellent and so accommodating we were moved to a higher floor for the next night. We stayed 10 nights and grew to completely love this place. I can’t say enough of how amazing the staff there is from made service to concierge and in between. We were most impressed by the restaurants ability and effort put in to accommodate my sons dairy allergy. Each time the restaurant manager come right to the table to ensure they are all over it. We ate at Zai, Panchos and Marco Polo, all amazing service. With special note to Marco Polo manager, I can’t think of his name, sorry but he never stops in making sure everyone is happy. My only disappointment is the pool activity crew, there is a bunch of them but we found they just hang out in towel house and visit most of the day. A few more kid related games would have been nice around the pool. All in all we would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.
