This is a terrific place to stay. I can see returning to San Jose and thinking of this hotel as my home away from home. Marisol herself skipped down to carry my bag up the front steps when I arrived, and she is a delight. This is an adorable family-owned and operated hotel with only 9 rooms, a true gem where you instantly feel welcome. Marisol speaks fluent English and can advise on anything you need or want. Beautifully decorated rooms, colorful Mexican art, tranquil ocean and town views from the rooms and the hotel patio upstairs. The beds are firm, the pillow are soft, and they have linen sheets, I've never slept so well. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are fully equipped, fridge, plates & utensils, beach gear, super fast WiFi, toiletries and more. The beach entrance is steps away at the end of the street. All of the adjacent eateries are wonderful, including a homemade ice cream shop where you can get a huge scoop in a waffle cone for 45 pesos, or about $2.25 USD. There's a giant modern grocery store just one block away connected to a mall with a Starbucks. The walk to the central art district is an hour, but very easy if it's not crazy hot. And if it is too hot or you don't want to walk that far, the bus stops on the main road just half a block from the hotel, 13.50 pesos for a ride (and they make change!), it's maybe 8 minutes ride from hotel. If you're in San Jose during the hottest months and can afford hundreds of dollars per night, you may want to stay at one of the big nearby resorts with pools. But if you're looking for an affordable, authentic experience with Mexican hospitality, just steps off the beach, with tons of conveniences, in a super clean, quiet, cute & safe guesthouse, this is the one. I can't say enough good things about the Marisol Boutique hotel.…
Really enjoyed Marisol Boutique Hotel. Friendly staff, great location, close to a great beach. Close to great restaurants and bars. Highly recommended. WIFI worked very well. I only stayed for one night this time, but would go their again any time.
The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. The area is much quieter than nearby resorts. There's a pharmacy, lovely restaurant and ice cream Cafe all in the immediate area with a convenience store and more restaurants close by. The beach is practically across the street. The included breakfast was lovely. A perfect stay. We had a small issue with our fridge being too cold and our drinks froze but that was easily remedied.
Experience the difference with this intimate boutique hotel when you want a great stay away from the crowds and hustle of the large resorts in the area. My adult family (no children) enjoyed a week at this family owned gem that consists of just 8 rooms and one larger newly built suite. There is not a pool or restaurant on sight, but everything that San Jose has to offer in the way of food and drink is within walking distance. You can also take a short hop on the corner school bus to el Centro art district for an abundant choice of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. The spacious rooms are meticulous, and the staff is attentive and helpful to provide suggestions on other area beaches and places of interest. The hotel has a relaxing deck and supplies beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers for your 2 minute walk to the Sea of Cortez public beach. We definitely found our special place in wonderful San Jose del Cabo.…
Lovely little boutique hotel! Very clean! Big rooms. Beautiful atmosphere 💖! Mexican style. 2 minutes walk to the beach. You can see the beach from your room. Marisol and her sister are just and simply amazing!!! They know everything and everyone and are sooo helpful! Don’t try to make money…! But just really into it! You made our stay here simply perfect and so easy- thank you so much!
Marisol is very accommodating and goes above and beyond to help. I had issues with my flight and she helped me with accommodations, even with helping me find another hotel for my needs. It was very sweet of her.
Marisol was a wonderful host and made us feel completely at home! The rooms are spacious and wonderful, and the location is absolutely perfect. Marisol also showed us around the property and let us see some of the newest rooms that will be ideal for longer-term stays. The staff was warm and welcoming also - we will definitely be staying with Marisol again!
If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This is not your typical hotel. Marisol and her team go above and beyond in everything. They provided free beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and coolers for use. Marisol personally dropped us of at Chileno Bay and coordinated an Uber back for us so we could save money on taxi fare. Valeria helped us search for a local and available place for a man in need. Additionally, it is impeccably clean. This place truly is a gem! We'll be back.
Clean, quiet, and well appointed rooms. The staff were all very kind and accommodating. One of the family that owns this small 8 room property was working the desk when I checked out and she was very nice and helpful. This is a great option if you are in the area. Also, right off the beach and an easy walk to many restaurants. This was a great experience in every way.
Very quaint little hotel. Staff and owners are very nice. Rooms are spacious. Close to the beach and they even give you chairs, towels and umbrella if you ask. Only wish coffee was available in the room. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
