While the Hilton Los Cabos garners praise for its immaculate cleanliness and exceptional amenities like luxurious pools and a variety of dining options, some guests feel the prices do not match the service, citing overpriced food and drinks. The resort's atmosphere is generally enjoyed for its vibrant dining and scenic views, though opinions on the rooms are divided, with commendations for their cleanliness and size but criticism for comfort and maintenance.
Service quality also sees mixed reviews, with accolades for staff attentiveness alongside some disappointments.

Detailed Reviews
The Hilton Los Cabos has upgraded many of the amenities in anticipation of the Hilton Grand Vacation units they are developing within the hotel. Two new infinity pools, a pool with a slide for children, a children activities center, a fabulous new gym with Antonio, the fabulous new trainer, an adult only pool and two jacuzzis This hotel has excellent restaurants. The ones by the pools serve delicious tacos, pizza, sushi, salads, etc. My son and I went to Vela and the food was amazing. He had a chicken and pasta dish that was truly exceptional. While the food is pricey, it is mostly locally grown, fresh local fish, and meticulous preparation of everything they serve. A new bar by the beach is also a welcome addition for those who prefer to stay close to the water. There are new cabanas by the beach for families or small groups to enjoy a private space. The people in this resort are amazing. They are friendly, professional, and focused on their guests. The concierges are resourceful and can help with arrangements for some of the experiences available in Los Cabos Paulina is my concierge and she is very knowledgeable, helpful, and resourceful Alfredo and Johanna are also helpful and very knowledgeable The beach is one of the only swimmable beaches in the corridor, although it is still rough at times. This is truly Paradise!

Dear Isabel05 There’s so much to love about our beautiful resort, and your review highlights some of my favorite features. It sounds like your stay was simply delightful, which is exactly what we aim for. I’m so happy to see that you and your son had a great time with us and were able to create a ton of memories that will last a lifetime. It’s also fantastic to know you enjoyed many of the amenities that are offered here, such as, the locally inspired and produced culinary delights from our restaurants, relaxing pools, beautiful cabanas. It’s also great to read that our staff was welcoming and attentive throughout your entire stay. We have already commended Paulina, Alfredo and Johanna for their service hospitality. Where do I start? We are just now returning back after spending the last week at the Hilton Los Cabos and our family had a wonderful stay.
From the beginning our interactions with Johanna made it clear that they cared about making sure we had everything we needed. FYI; Johanna’s attention to detail and ability to pass information along to those that needed it along the way was really impressive.
Having not been to the property for ~1 year, we were blown away by the recent changes. We stared longingly (if you don’t have them already... don’t have kids) at the adult only pool, which had an amazing view of the beach and ocean.
They’ve built a water slide, splash pad & another non-adults only infinity pool. All of which seem like a fabulous compliment to the new beach and cliff side cabanas + what for the first time in 5+ years of coming to this property feels like they’ve recognized the beach is an asset. Swimming, snorkeling, all beneath an annoying inaccurate feeling red flag. Having swam, fairly far out each day, I still don’t entirely see the reasoning for the red flag, but hey, safety first kids.
My wife is vegan and the entire F&B crew, including the executive chef Mauricio went out of their way to prepare meals that accommodated her. Never once were we disappointed, and the birthday treat they sent to our room was just icing on the cake. Wow.
We enjoyed an awesome Mexican Independence celebration outside on their grassy patio with the chef preparing a smoked Barbacoa in a fire pit all day.
From breakfast with my man Humberto, to pizza miraflores poolside, to our nightly dinners rotating between El Maison, Vela and the lobby bar— the food and service was on point. My kids enjoyed their nightly Mac-n-cheese and chicken fingers meals as well. Also, whatever was in the edamame and serrano pepper dish, was freaking amazing. If you like either of these, hunt down that dish. Honestly, I wish I had gotten that for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Yum.
Daily housekeeping, even amidst COVID, nightly turn down service. Clean freakin’ everything (seriously, we would touch something and almost immediately someone was there to disinfect) and masks across the property certainly made us feel safe. Quite frankly, they’re doing more here than any place I’ve been in the US.
We love this hotel, we love these people, we love the location. We’ll be back. Again and again and again.
Thank you all for the wonderful stay, we can’t wait to return!

We stay at this property quite a bit but haven’t been back since November. It always feels like home.
We were a little nervous to travel back to Cabo but are so glad we did. In fact, we’re planning to go back in November. We felt very safe at the hotel. Shoes are washed, temperature is taken and hand sanitizer administered every time you enter the hotel. The pool towels are even sealed.
The hotel rooms are sealed so that you’re the only one that breaks the sticker, remote is sanitized and wipes are in the room as well.
We also appreciated the recent renovations. The adult pool, cabanas, etc.
We love this hotel. Great for families as well as for a couples getaway. Also, the food at the Vela is to die for. Meson has a great breakfast as well.
Appreciate Cristian and Gaby at the front! Thanks for the great service!

Just back from what was my third and last stay at the Cabo Hilton Resort. First two visits in 2016 and 2017 were nice, this last one was not.
The staff was disinterested at best. We had to clear our plates at breakfast and when at the pool and ocean chairs we had two “check-ins” by the staff over an eight day stay. Almost every time it was us having to go look for a staff member to order drinks or food.
And then there is the renovation work. :( New additions of $450 a day cabanas block what was a great view of the ocean from the whale watching deck. During our stay we had to listen to power tools, chain saws (yes, chain saws) and a back hoe less than 50 feet from the chairs on the beach and deck. Not once did a manager come by to check if it bothered us or the other guests. I heard two other couples remark that they would not have come had they known this. Count me in that group. The hotel should have set up an area for a more peaceful experience - there was plenty of space to do this, but they did not.
The food was good, but not of you are Vegan or a semi-strict vegetarian. The wait staff at Vela and night time staff at Meson did their best to accommodate us, but it’s 2020. The hotel chef should have had more offerings on the menu.
The spa visit was not up to the quality of previous visits. They did not check in to offer slippers, drinks, or anything much beyond making sure we considered a tip on the bill.
There must have been a change in management during the past year or two. It’s sad and with the only swimmable beach in Cabo it looks like we will explore other options for southern vacations.

Just returned from a much needed getaway from Hilton Los Cabos and had a wonderful experience! My last visit was back in 2018 and the hotel has made many enhancements since then, new pools, beach club, refreshed public spaces and my favorite new addition - their plunge pool suites! I splurged on one and honestly didn’t think I’d use the private plunge pool much, but it was so amazing having your own private pool! They are on the ground floor facing the beach with great views & easy access to the entire resort. Plus, the plunge pool suites come with all the La Vista club amenities. Definitely worth the extra cost! The hotel did a great job adopting all sorts of safety protocols for the coronavirus... the staff all seemed dedicated to fostering a safe & clean environment without sacrificing service. This hotel is definitely feels more like a luxury resort. Top notch service, plenty of amazing pools, fantastic beach club, great gym and lots of tasty food and beverage options. All of the staff was so friendly & eager to assist. You won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to go back!!

Hello DavidTX83, Thank you for your detailed review and your loyalty to our Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort! Thank you for painting such a vivid picture of the many upgrades to our property - our future guests will be indebted. It was an excellent idea to indulge in one of our plunge pool suites. The private pool is certainly a treat! The team of the Hilton Los Cabos take a lot of pride in the cleanliness and condition of our resort daily. They have ear to ear smiles from receiving your effusive praise of your experience as our guest, and we are grateful for you writing such kind words. This was my first time hopping on a plane during the pandemic and I must say, I am so glad I did! It was the perfect vacation for a long weekend getaway. This resort is all about the details in all aspects - decor, amenities, service, cleanliness, etc.
Safety: Not once did we see a staff member wear a mask improperly. All restaurant staff wore a mask and a face shield. Sanitation was a top priority, as staff members were constantly wiping down tables and public areas. Temperature of guests were taken when you enter the hotel, and masks/hand sanitizer were available for guests as well. Lastly, social distancing was never an issue. I was telling my friend that it felt safer in Mexico, than in the states.
Service: At our arrival, we were offered a hibiscus margarita, which was quite refreshing.
We were extremely impressed with the overall service experience at the resort. Every staff member (front guest, restaurant, housekeeping, and facilities) that we interacted with was kind and genuine.
On the last day, we ran out of toothpaste and called the front desk to see if they had any toothpaste available for guests. In less than 5 minutes, we had toothpaste as well as mouthwash!
Room: Since we are Hilton Gold Members, we were upgraded from an Oceanview to an Oceanfront room. The view was spectacular - the update was greatly appreciated. Extra bonus, the beach was comfortable for swimming (and it wasn't just a pretty view)!
Food: We were nervous about the food because hotels are known for average food and high prices. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. The restaurant at the pool had terrific food and drinks. Order the Baja ceviche and tacos (we had all of them and no complaints!). The Italian restaurant on-site had the best "antipasto" I've had in my life. Seriously... I came back a second time for it before our last day.
Thank you to the staff at Hilton for the wonderful memories. We will be back!

I just returned from 5 days at the Hilton. The resort/location was fantastic! It's on the San Jose side, so about a 15 min cab ride into downtown Cabo San Lucas - it was nice to be in such a calm and peaceful area. The resort is absolutely beautiful and has swimmable beach access. Several pools/infiniti pools and hot tubs to choose from.
The food was excellent (Ceviche in Sotol was delish). The buffet breakfast was well worth it and included a good variety that changed daily but included freshly made to order quesadillas and tostaditas, chilaquiles, menudo and other mexican favorites, plus lots of freshly cut fruit and your typical American fare such as oatmeal, French toast and made to order omelettes, etc. Juan Carlos was an excellent server, as was everyone there.
Service was great all around! Front desk staff was helpful and attentive, concierge was often there after normal concierge hours helping guests with excursions, the bell service staff was always there to help with luggage, cabs, info, etc. Housekeeping was amazing, If we had the do not disturb sign on they made sure to follow up to see if we wanted service, and did nightly turn down service. In general, anything we asked, info, directions, etc, all staff went above and beyond to help.
The room was spacious and very nice. We stayed in a double partial Oceanview queen room on the hotel side (the other side has some Hilton Club suites, which are absolutely beautiful!) Our view was full ocean view, but we did have some un-landscaped dirt on our side of the hotel, but could only see that if we were standing on the balcony. The room layout is nice in that the bathroom is very large, and the toilet area is separated with a door from the main bathroom, as is the shower. There is a large tub, and there are large plantation shutter type doors that you can open or close. If you open those, the bathroom is open to the rest of the room, so that you can see the ocean while in the main bathroom area, but you can close them for separation. Overall, the room is a good size, with a very nice balcony.
Can't wait to go back!

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were always serviced, the pool was always staffed with clean towels wrapped in plastic to ensure safety. The food was outstanding especially the breakfast which had plenty of choices. The restaurant at the pool had very tasty and fresh seafood tacos. We enjoyed our 5-day family vacation.

This was our second stay at the beautiful Hilton Los Cabos. The renovations are beautiful! It truly has the look of a 5 Star resort. They have a swimmable beach, spacious rooms, delicious food, one of the top restaurants in Cabo, beautiful Infiniti pool with poolside drinks and lunch. The only negatives this trip was confusion at checkin with our reservation. We booked the free wifi and breakfast included package and they did not show this on their end. I provided the email confirmation. We only had a chance to enjoy 1 morning of this free breakfast and it was still confusing on day 3 of our stay when we arrived at the restaurant. They had us wait while they made calls to someone to verify. Definitely not 5 star service by day 3 when this was brought to the front desks attention when we checked in. The AC in the room had a mind of its own. Our room was constantly humid and too warm for our sleeping comfort (never below 71). I am a loyal Hilton member, paid $300/nt for this “ocean view” room and had an awful view of the side of the the neighboring resort’s construction. For being at less than 30% capacity and paying this rate, I felt like they could of placed us in a better room.
I would recommend this resort and have to friends and family. Just hope you get a better room rate than we did for what we actually received.
The staff was very respectful of the COVID situation. Temperature checks upon entering the resort. masks on everyone and hand sanitizer available. Felt very clean and safe.

Dear FortWorth2, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with us. We are thrilled that you are so appreciative of our enhancements, including the stunning views we are lucky to have at our great facilities. We would like to assure you that our aim is to provide amazing experiences and lasting memories for our guests. Based on your feedback, it appears that there was a missed opportunity during breakfast to provide you the true Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort experience. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences with the package inclusions, the AC and the view. Undeniably, this was not representative of our normally impeccable service and all corrective actions have been made to ensure our guests’ expectations are met in the future. On a positive note, I’m genuinely thrilled to hear about your excitement and positive feedback regarding our additional efforts due to the Coronavirus to ensure you feel comfortable and safe. Once again, thank you for your kind feedback and we looking forward to hosting you again at our Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort. Warm regards, Maxence Bonnamain General Manager at Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Hilton Los Cabos. This was our second time staying there, and we can't wait to be back. Check in was a breeze, and the hibiscus margaritas were so tasty and refreshing.
We upgraded to AltaMar and am thrilled we did. Had a tequila amenity waiting for us in the room when we got there, daily nighttime aromatherapy turndown service, highly recommend the citrus and green tea scents, they were delightful. A lovely beach bag to take our things to the beach and pool. A cute hand carved wooden turtle, a Oaxacan speciality, to take home with us. Ah yes, the whole breakfast buffet is included with AltaMar, which was very nice.
Pros: The view is stunning. Beautiful property on the ocean, one of the best swimmable beaches in Cabo, a rare treasure in itself. ( I don't swim and I felt so safe in the water ). The daily sunrises, had me, someone who isn't a morning person waking up early, just so I wouldn't miss the beauty.
The drinks were great, the food was delicious. We are tequila people, so we frequented Sotol, the tequileria for drinks, food, churritos, even did a tasting. Try the tequila with the rattlesnake in it, makes for a great ice breaker. We had dinner reservations at Talavera, the food was scrumptious, and Vela, once again a huge hit.
Talavera was our destination for breakfast every morning and a very complete breakfast buffet was a treat to be savored, lots of vegetarian options at all the restaurants, made it very easy for my vegetarian hubby. Mio has fantastic sushi, and Lena, the poolside grill has some great tacos and quesedillas, they kept us fed at lunch.
We booked the beach cabana a couple of times and the Infinity Pool Cabana on other days, they were so comfortable and the service, the cabana attendants, the waiters, top notch service across the board.
Fernando O Campo and Jose Sanchez at the beach cabanas,
Alberto at the Infinity Pool cabana,
Victor and Hugo at Sotol, I hope Hilton knows that all of you are such a huge asset to the hotel and made every day of our stay that much special, with your helpfulness and hospitality.
Cons:. If I had to nitpick, would have loved to have one more option for lunch, but with a pandemic and all, it's understandable that they have what they have.
Every single person made an effort to learn our name and always remembered to use it, and they helped me out with my attempts to learn and practice my conversational Spanish, it was so welcoming.
The Infinity Pool and the beach were so much fun, we never did make it to the adult pool, and we never felt out of place where we were, it was not too noisy.
Every single person wore a mask, lots of hand sanitizers available, the Covid testing center was efficient and on site , we felt very safe vacationing during a pandemic.
We cannot wait to be back!!

Yes the hotel has a Adult only pool. Beach service was well attended by waiters. We had breakfast included with our stay and there was no shortage of options. I do believe there was loxs and bagels one morning and I can not recall if there was Prime Rib. Hope this helps.
hi. I usually don't check the questions so I apologize this is late. I am a diamond member so my pricing is a bit different but I think the breakfast is in line with other reports. it is a bit expensive.
there are several grocery stores on the way to the hotel but I can't remember their names. the closest one is less that 5 minutes by car. take an uber and it is no problem.
