What a treat. We stayed for a week in the 2 story suite. We were the only guests, so it was very private. We were in a walled in compound with beautiful plantings, yet we could walk into town for dinner or to the beach. There were wonderful breezes in the evening. John was a fabulous host. He had lots...

There are several rooms at Palapas, from the small private cabañas with a shared bathroom to suites with kitchens. Everyone has access to the small, deep rooftop pool and the kitchen area. It is a few minutes walk from the marina-side restaurants and bars and a few minutes from the beach. Palapas is private walled compound with plants and a...

We loved our stay here. John, the host, is great. Very friendly and personable and made us wonderful espresso in the morning. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of hot water in the showers (yay!). There is a bit of street noise (loud cars) that drive up and down the road through the night, so if you're a...

I stayed 2 weeks in one of the Palapas Cabañas and honestly it is hard to find a place so quiet and with such a good vibe. Captain John, the owner, is a great guy makes some amazing coffee, and if you are lucky you might test the Tequila coffee. A beautiful, quiet beach is just a few minutes walk...

John was a very friendly host. He was there to greet us when we arrived. He made sure we had everything we needed. Since nobody else was there at the time, John let us wander through all the rooms to see what else he had to offer. This a a very cool place and would be a lot of fun...

Super cute, comfy, relaxing and out of the way - exactly what I was looking for on my recent trip to Mexico. Really well looked after gardens, relaxing pool looking over the beach and well stocked kitchen. Basic, but simple with some comfortable touches. Well worth the money, I couldn't have asked for anything else. Get yourself a car though...they're...

I have stayed here twice, as this is a perfect setup for my family and friends. If you want the luxury and sterility of a big hotel/resort chain, look elsewhere - that is not what Palapas is about. It is a great place if you want a private and funky place to stay a short walk (on dirt roads) to...

I can't image a better place to stay in San Jose del Cabo. The grounds are a lush tropical garden with a pool, hammocks, BBQ, fish smoker, and even a ping pong table. Capitan John was a gracious host and bent over backwards to fulfill my every need. My boat was being repaired in the local yard which was only...

I had a wonderful stay at the Palapas Resort. The cabina I rented was clean and comfortable; a nice bed, small refrigerator and coffee maker. Perfect accommodations for the traveler who plans to get out early for the fishing nearby. The grounds of the resort were quiet and comfortable - lots of plants, an open kitchen, hammocks to relax in....

Thanks Dave for being such a great Guest! We very much enjoyed your company too! By the way, the smoker is finally operational, por fin :) I am now working on smoke timing and a good teriyaki apple juice brine recipe with agave… Take Care

PALAPAS is an amazing gem in SanJose. We choose to stay here for many reasons. John (the owner) is very accommodating, attentive, and friendly. Vida, the lovely resort manager is so helpful! They both go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. As world travellers, we have no problem sharing, cooperating, and respecting others. In fact, we...
