I love coming here. This is my 6th year coming and we own a fractional here. Could not ask for anything better. Modesto, Freddie, Francisco, Zac, and everyone else are amazing here. They are my friends. They make you feel like family. Very quiet and quaint, with amazing views. The whole staff is awesome and the food and drinks are amazing. I am 23 and there isn’t that many people my age here, but there should be. I will be coming back for sure. When you go, find Modesto and ask where El Chapo is.

Like many here, I read the reviews and went in with a bit of trepidation. We were traveling with 2 other couples, one of whom owned the time share so that is how we ended up here. We were greeted by a friendly concierge with a cocktail as we booked into our Jr. suite. The room was clean, had a beautiful view of the property as well as the Pacific. We found that every building had its own pool in front with the same view of the ocean and this is where we primarily stayed during the day. The rooms have small refrigerators so we stocked it up with beverages for the week. If we wanted cocktail service, the main pool has the typical swim up bar and food service, which we did enjoy on a few occasions. The staff their was again, very friendly and efficient. Their are many places were you can find a quiet spot in the front of the resort to stare at the ocean for hours. No trinket peddlers to be found anywhere on this beach for miles. We did try the restaurant for brunch and found the food good, nothing out of the ordinary. The resort is not close enough to walk to any local dining, so be prepared to take a taxi, never a hassle if you don't mind that sort of transportation. You are half way between Cabo and San Jose Del Cabo, so it's never more then a 15 minute ride to either downtown center. Now we did experience a bit of construction noise during the day, but it was never too loud as we were generally down at the pool. Yes, there is a bit of renovation to be done, but our accommodations were fine. One of our neighboring guests mentioned their jacuzzi was not functioning as stated in other reviews. The appeal here for me was the peace and solitude I experienced at the pool and on the beach. If I want more interaction, I go to downtown Cabo. The attention to us given by the staff was amazing as well. Freddy was "The Man!" he took care of all our needs and always had our transport there waiting for us every evening. Viki had our room looking spot on and always left a fresh flower from the grounds. So overall, I would say this place exceeded my expectations. Yes, it is being renovated, and being prepared for that, I did not personally find that an issue. At the end of the stay, we all agreed that it was a nice change from the hectic nature of downtown Cabo and we will definitely come back.

We just returned from our honeymoon - and we spent one week of our trip in one of the condos at Casa Del Mar. It was the best decision we could have made. If you are looking for a tranquil, magical place that is conveniently located between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas - this is the spot for you. The decor is traditional hacienda style and the service is top-notch. A special shout out to the manager of the restaurant, Modesto, for putting a smile on our face every morning as we arrived for breakfast (we ate breakfast at the on-site restaurant every morning because it was exceptionally good and reasonably priced) and for Frida for the incredible food and beverage service. We spent countless hours at the Casa Del Mar pool. Why? Because it is absolutely stunning, it looks over a completely vacant beach, and Franc (aka Pancho) provided the most sensational poolside service we’ve ever received (and both my husband and myself are well-traveled). Pancho made sure we always had what we needed, he showed up every day with contagious positive energy, and we especially loved his signature margarita, the mudslide, and the mezcalita - yum. We have just returned to California and we are already dreaming of our next vacation back at Casa Del Mar.

The good: We know this place to be really pleasant: quiet, decent food, lovely staff. and great views of pools and miles of ocean. We invested in ownership because we thought that this place was stable and reliable. We spent a lot of money for a place we could use once a year during certain months of the year. During one visit, we discovered the elevators were broken. Turns out, they'd been out for a year. We bought here because the spa on our patio was private and relaxing. At arrival we discovered that our spa didn't work and it appears from guests' comments that many of them are out of commission... We were offered nothing. But they had plenty of time to insist that we absolutely must attend a two-hour meeting to sell us on upgrading our membership to the tune of $59,000. They promised the resort will be nicer next YEAR! I don't feel very trusting, and actually I feel pretty foolish. It's not a good sentiment.

This resort could easily rate 5 stars if it kept up with the maintenance in its condo units. No reason for peeling paint, old toilets and faucets, broken lamps, and sofa in desperate need of replacement. The units are beautiful with great ocean views, but management is too busy selling time shares to pay attention to upgrading this jewel. Lots of new untrained staff, some friendly some not. Long time employees are terrific and very helpful. The Spa is amazing, clean and professionally run.
