Solaz appears to be more focused on using the access to Marriott reservations to sell time shares to the resort and force guest to dine at their over priced restaurants than creating an environment that is memorable. Given the room rates at this hotel, that is very disappointing. We arrived around 6pm local time and started the check-in process. It was a process that disappointingly led to an initial non-optional (according to our check-in employee) tour of a small museum that quickly transitioned into a sales pitch for the time-share on property from a different employee. After check in, we asked which restaurant was good for a small meal, as we were not very hungry. I enquired about their sports bar, which is listed on the website and even on their information on the TV in the room as being open. I was informed it was not and was directed to the steakhouse by the beach. We declined to eat at the steakhouse given the very high prices for even very basic food like a side order of french fries ($15). Later we learned that the sports bar was only being used for time share sales in the morning. Given the cost of dining at their average restaurants compared to even the finer dinning in town and lack of evening gathering place to enjoy a cocktail with other guests, we left the property every evening. The breakfast buffet every morning was very good, along with some of the staff members who would go above and beyond. The room was nice but the plunge pool was very much more decorative than actually useful. This could be a very special property, as the grounds and architecture are stunning but the lack of atmosphere and dinning options in the evening are holding this property back from it being considered for a return visit.…
The staff, some good enough to call friends are amazing at this place. We've had the pleasure to have Cesar down by the Pool and Ulyses as our concierge on both of our visits here. They have taken care of everything and more with a smile and great attitude. Everything is kept in pristine condition, the food is phenomenal and the drinks are great. Can't wait to see you guys again!!
From the time we arrived until we left, the experience could not have been better. The craftsmanship and the materials used in all aspects of the resort were inspiring to say the least. The staff were the best I've experienced, everyone was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Cezar at the pool was a welcome treat, much appreciate his amazing service. I want to thank management here, this is an example of where you won't find a better people experience across the board. A bug thank you to those at breakfast, everyone there also amazing. If you're thinking about cabo and not sure where to stay, choose the Solaz.
We had an amazing stay at this property and can't wait to return. Solaz hit all of the notes. We were greeted in the amazing open-air lobby by our personal concierge with a local welcome drink and we knew we were in the right place. The room was incredibly well-appointed in a modern aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the hotel. The hammock on the balcony overlooking the ocean view was an especially nice touch. All of the pools were incredible with plenty of seating options, swim-up bars, and genuinely friendly servers (Marco) who would bring around a try of freshly prepared ceviche appetizers. The restaurants did not disappoint. A beautiful breakfast buffet. Casual poolside lunch with delicious tacos. And, some of the freshest and best sushi for dinner we've had.
We stayed here for 3 days during my son’s senior trip. We used points for the stay. It is an awesome hotel but there was not a lot for a teenager to do. It’s more of a couples place. But, The pools are all right on the beach and the rooms are unbelievable. Roberto, our butler aka concierge, was remarkable. He was spot on with everything we asked for. This property is amazing and definitely somewhere my wife and I would surely go back to.
