This hotel is aesthetically pleasing, conveniently located and the staff is friendly. However, If you were to remove the boho chic decorations, you’d be left with a prison cell. The shower had hard water deposits or was so poorly made that it sprayed water all over the floor every time you showered. We had to dry the floor after each use. I honestly wouldn’t have been annoyed, but they charged us after checkout for dirty towels. I’d have scored this place a 4/5 but I feel cheated about the towel thing. I’ve traveled all over and never been charged after checkout. The Wi-Fi logs you out every time you close your browser. The breakfast had a single cookie and a bunch of fruit that you would have to cut and peel with plastic cutlery.

A hidden little gem in San Jose Del Cabo! Rooms are well appointed, staff is super friendly. Cristina was fantastic and so welcoming, always there to help no matter what we needed. The bar was really cool and the tacos were great! There are a lot of restaurants nearby within walking distance, check out Lolita Cafe down the street, great for breakfast! Definitely recommend Drift and will be back!

We had a great time at this hotel. It is right in the heart of San Jose Del Cabo. Lucy, Jose, Jonathan and Luis really made our stay special. Great restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has Thursday taco night and music. I would definitely stay there again!!

My husband and I stayed here last week! We have never been to Los Cabos and are usually all-inclusive type people. But we are sooo glad we didn’t go all inclusive in San Jose Del Cabo!! Drift was so beautiful and the whole concept is so unique. By day 2, I felt like I was best friends with the staff - they were so helpful and kind. I told them I know it’s their job to be kind but it just felt so genuine! They were constantly asking if we needed anything and how things were going. Each morning, they had food and coffee from the local bakery (Ruba’s - amazing!) and drinks all day! We also rented the car for the first time in a different country and they were so helpful in helping us understand driving and places to go see and how to get there! The hotel itself is in the BEST location in old downtown San Jose Del Cabo! Every night, we’d walk to one of the picture perfect, fun, yummy restaurants in town and then walk around- perfectly safe… all so dreamy… and then walk back to our beautiful hotel. Thursday night art walk was awesome as well! And I know the pool looks small, but it actually accommodates a good amount of people! Also, we went surfing one day and they have surf boards and a car rack for you to use! It was so awesome! It really is a wonderful little place! We actually met someone who had stayed at Drift one night because their all inclusive wasn’t ready yet and then he ended up coming back by the end of the week because he liked it that much!! Make sure you book a stay here the next time you come to Los Cabos!

I can not say enough good things about our stay at Drift San Jose. From the time my wife and I walked on the property to the time we left we were taken care of above and beyond our expectations. (We got lost driving to a destination with very limited service and I reached out to the staff and they got us back on track without hesitation.) The hotel itself has a super modern but historic concrete that is actually really comfortable to boot. The location…… wow…. It is right in the heart of this town that we have now fallen in love with. Just a block from the town square where all the fun starts. Everyone is super nice and we never felt anything less than excited to walk around and see all the shops and try the different restaurants. Please do yourself a favor and give Drift a shot. You will fall in love with the hotel, the people, and most of all the town like we did!

Staff was friendly, nice rooms, central location. But very unnerved by the management — I have several charges on my credit card from the hotel that exceeds my original bill. When we asked to speak with management to resolve the issue, they have not fixed the problem. Also very loud on Thursday nights — they host a party till midnight. Can’t sleep even with earplugs.

Occasion: We stayed at Drift for the wedding of a friend w/ my wife. ------- Good: - Friendly and caring staff - Great location - Beautiful premises, modern, stylish rooms - Nice small pool -------- Bad: - We booked the room in USD online. They wanted to charge us in Pesos which was $100 more than the original booking fee. They insisted that's the way. We beg to differ and that's not cool. - They put 2 additional charges without our permission on our CC (about $100). They were not able to explain why we were charged. One said it was mandatory city fee, another said it was the deposit hold. We've not got reimbursed so far. - Apparently they throw a huge party on Thursdays. It was impossible to stay in the room due to loud music, let alone sleep until 12am - Loud music from nearby bars - Good looking, yet disfunctional rooms (no water heater, no tables etc.)

I loved this great urban oasis a block from the main town plaza. If you want an authentic, local, but high quality hotel that doesn't have the overdone big resort feel, this place is it. I liked having walking access to all the local restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops and enjoyed the fact that this part of town is more local and less touristy. It's a well designed place but not pretentious, the courtyard is great and makes you feel like you have a sense of privacy in the heart of town. The hotel staff are all very friendly, and the pool bar had a nice vibe and offered great mezcal and ceviche too. The beach is just a short drive away, but the access to local restaurants / bars is well worth the tradeoff. This is definitely my new go-to spot for a Cabo weekend getaway.

Charming, sophisticated and authentic. This gem in the heart of San Jose del Cabo is a revelation. From the moment we set foot on site, we were blown away by the world class design and serenity of this urban oasis. Not to mention the vibrant center courtyard mezcal bar and meeting amazing locals and foreign travelers alike. We plan to be back...every year.
