We had so much fun from sun up to sun down. The service staff here is what really makes the place so special. They are warm and friendly always greeting you with a smile and a warm hola! The entertainment crew at the pool and in the evening made it fun and engaging. I want to name just a few of the staff that especially made my trip special. Luis Rendon, Manuel Gonzalez and Elsa Cortez always kept my drinks cold at the pool. Lalo, Marcos, and Gualito kept me laughing and entertained. Maribel kept my room sparkling clean during my stay. We were invited to a presentation at the resort, promised free round of golf (for 2) and $300 (150 per couple). When we arrived they attempted to change the $300 to a free week somewhere in Cabo. When we declined, they reneged on the $300 offer and basically asked us to leave. No breakfast no nothing. Don't be fooled by these scam artists!
We have stayed and dined at this resort for years. Had a late lunch there today and once again enjoyed good food at the Double Eagle restaurant and great service from Felix. We’ve always enjoyed this small, friendly restaurant especially after golf at the nearby golf course.
We were nervous and excited to finally take a trip after 6 months of quarantine. We felt the Cabo community was taking serious precautions and would actually be safer than home. Through our membership with Global Discovery, we booked a 2 bedroom at the Golf Resort for 2 weeks thinking it would be a safer option. On their website, they bragged about how they were following strict COVID precautions. We stayed at the resort in the past and at that time it was tranquil, quiet and away from the typical Cabo crowds. We called ahead to confirm our arrival and expected an easy check as we expected very few guests. But when we arrived at 2pm, we were delayed an hour before our room was ready. We were then approached by a promoter (with his mask around his chin) trying to sell us excursions. We moved away to keep our distance and told him we just wanted to wait for our room. Once the room was ready, we carried our luggage up the flight of stairs to our room. Later, we saw others were given assistance with their baggage but we didn't think to ask for that service and it was not offered. When we arrived to the room, it did smell of disinfectant and many items were wrapped in cellophane. We felt the room was adequately prepared. However, over the course of our stay, several of the staff wore masks on their chins. I get it - it's hot. But most particularly, one bartendress never wore her mask during the two weeks and at one point was eating a mango and handed our receipt and drinks to us with her wet, mango covered fingers. Gross even without a pandemic. Our expectations for quiet were broken as every weekend they sell day passes to locals filling the pools and common areas beyond capacity. They stated it was their attempt at staying in business... which I can understand, however when you're paying full price at a resort, you expect access to the amenities in a safe fashion during a pandemic. Perhaps they should have designated a "guest only" section. Instead, the common areas and pools were overcrowded while, of course, nobody wore masks. To top it off, we were there through Hurricane Genevieve. Of course, we were very concerned as it was at a stage 4, a day away from potential landfall. We asked about any precautions the resort was planning for the building or for guests. The front desk staff told us basically not to worry and did not mention any efforts being made. Having experienced hurricanes in the past, we went on our own to the stores to prepare for any power outages or water issues. The only effort made by the resort was to provide extra towels for any leaks. Luckily, it was only a category 1 as it passed by Cabo. The room flooded and we were left to clean it. Overall, while we were glad to have our retreat, we will not stay at this resort again. We visited other resorts/hotels to eat or drink and saw a very different scene at those locations. You can visit in a very safe way and will experience a general gratitude for your support at every other location.…
NIce Units - fully stocked - close walk to Walmart. Pools and Hot Tub is well maintained. Great staff - specially Felix. Great restaurant with good food. Breakfast very good deal. Golf - expensive especially if you are Canadian. Nice place to just relax and read. Older group.
