The Good, Fantastic location, Pool and nice grounds. The Bad..Upon check in (first time to property) we were handed over to a lady to show us a map of the grounds and to show us where are room was located... what she was really doing was trying to get us to attend a timeshare presentation. Really did not appreciate the deception! A wasted 15 minutes of our time..when all we wanted to do was get to our room, unpack and go have a cocktail!. We did not do the all inclusive since we like eating around town. What they failed to mention is there is a upcharge of 15percent if you are not on the all inclusive plan to eat there. Also there is a 16 percent tax rate. I understand on vacation you will pay more but it was very expensive and the food was just average. To give you an idea, plan on spending around $85 (without tip) for 3 people for breakfast, water and coffee at the restaurant by the pool. Our room was nice but it does not mention on the hotel site that you share a balcony with the room next to you. I sorta like to go out on the balcony and drink coffee in my sleepwear in the morning..could't really do that with neighbors on the balcony too. The pool was the best part but to get a drink at the pool bar seemed to take forever. I don't know if it was just me but the service just seemed lacking. Sorta unfriendly and not that helpful. Maybe it is the masks they are wearing. I fealt that same vide throughout Cabo in general. Probably won't be back.

The Villa La Estancia exceeded our expectations. It's a beautiful resort, right on the beach, great pool, excellent location with amazing views. Our unit was perfectly appointed, large enough for 6 people and really comfortable. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The vibe was relaxed and friendly. We would definitely come back!

It pains me to write this review, but after this past week at Villa La Estancia, I’m just so very disappointed. We checked in on July 20th at around 1:30pm. Upon check in, we were told our room wasn't ready, so we went to La Parrilla for lunch, hoping our room would be ready by the time we were done. Not the case, which was fine since check in is at 4:00. We sat in the lobby for about an hour and a half waiting for our room, all while watching other people being escorted by the bellman to their rooms. At around 3:45, we asked if our room was ready and we're told "not yet." At 4:00, we asked again, since they said it would be ready by 4:00. At that point, we were told it would be even longer since the housekeeper wasn't done cleaning. By this point, I'm angry and cranky. Having been up since 2:00 am, traveling all day, and really wanting to take a nap before our 6:00 dinner reservation, I wasn't having it anymore. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Gustavo came over and basically told us in a nice way that we're out of luck and just need to wait cause the hotel is at 80% occupancy. We got a pretty lame apology and he went on his merry way. FINALLY, our room was ready at like 4:15ish. The bellman takes us to our room, which I think was 1309? Upon walking in, I noticed that it was barely an ocean view room. It was more of a lawn view room with a speck of ocean somewhere off to the side that you really had to lean over the balcony to see. I wasn't impressed with the view or the furnishings of this room, which looked like it hadn't been updated for a very long time. It was gross and felt dirty. But anyway, we called the housekeeper to come set up the sofa bed for our daughter. She came right up, and took the bed out of the sofa, only to realize that the sofa bed base was completely broken. The metal was totally snapped and it was unusable. She couldn't even get it back into the sofa. It took 2 maintenance men 15 minutes to finally get it back in. At this point, I'm fuming because, what the hell? They offered a rollaway bed, which I declined and told them I wanted to change rooms. They said housekeeping was cleaning it and we couldn't switch til 6:00pm. Ugh!!! So we had them change our reservations at La Casona to 6:30. The bellman was supposed to come up at 6:00pm, but by 6:15, he still wasn't there. So we dragged our luggage down to the lobby and told them we were going to dinner and we asked them to watch our stuff while we ate. So we go to La Casona, which by the way, was amazing when we went in December 2019. This time, not so much. My husband said his steak tasted like it was deep fried. As a family who eats a ton of quality red meat quite frequently, this was disappointing. He said it was one of the worst steaks he's ever had. Really sad and bummed out by this. My Caesar salad tasted fine, but it was warm. My daughter didn't care for her steak either. We totally understand that we're dealing with a pandemic, but the food has really gone downhill. The whole reason we opted for the all inclusive package was for the steakhouse, which we only went to once this trip, because it wasn't good anymore. However, the service was very good. After dinner at 7:30pm, we went to the lobby to get our new room keys. They said our luggage was already there and the housekeeper made the sofa bed already, which we appreciated. The bellman took us to our new room, which was leaps and bounds nicer than the original room. This time we were in 2601 with a beautiful, full ocean view. All seemed good til we got into bed. Omg. The mattress has literally never been turned, flipped, changed...nothing. The springs were completely shot and we were both sinking into the bed as it concaved in. Needless to say, we didn't sleep well the whole time we were there. I already have a bad back and need to go to the chiropractor to have them adjust me from sleeping in a crater all week. Awesome. This place needs to check the rooms before they rent them out to ensure that the quality is to the standards for which they are charging. To spend over $400 a night for a bed that was sinking in was unacceptable. And to be given a room with a broken sofa bed was also unacceptable. The batteries and cover for the dvd remote in our new room were missing in the bedroom, so even if we wanted to watch a movie, we couldn't. Oh, and the battery in our door died, so my husband couldn't get into our room after breakfast to use the restroom. He had to trek back down to the lobby to request the maintenance guy to fix it and also fix the toilet in the living room cause it wouldn't flush properly. There were just so many things that went wrong during our stay, that I can't even go into them all and I'm tired of typing this review. Needless to stay, we will be canceling our December trip that is already booked. I just can't see spending that much money to be annoyed and uncomfortable all week and to deal with attitude from the front desk staff. It breaks my heart, because all we did was rave about this place to everyone and we were so beyond excited for this past week. Now we can't go back anymore. We were really looking forward to our December trip too. Super bummed.

We stayed at Villa La Estancia June 26-July 1, 2021 and were sad to have to go home! This is a gorgeous, well-maintained, relaxing resort. I have never encountered such consistently excellent customer service anywhere- from the groundskeepers to waitstaff to bellhops and lobby personnel- EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here! Specifically, Oliver and Ale at the front desk were highly professional and welcoming. We felt like very important guests! Isabella helped me print and scan some paperwork that I needed to send, she was very gracious to help me out with this. Angel the bellhop was always friendly and helpful, we enjoyed talking to him. We ate at all 3 of the sister resorts, so I can say with confidence that Villa La Estancia is the nicest and the most peaceful of the three. The other two sister resorts had somewhat of a party atmosphere- if you're coming to Cabo for a party, they might be better suited for you! The restaurants were amazing, the pool was wonderful. We came to relax and that is exactly what we experienced. We only went into town 1 time because our main goal was chilling haha! We did not have to have a Covid test before traveling to Cabo, but we needed a Covid test to come back to the U.S. Villa La Estancia handled the Covid test, which was $25 apiece, and we were cleared for flight easily. The Covid test was taken the day before we left and it took place in the spa area at the resort next door, very easy. My only (slight) critique was the pool "saving chairs" policy- there aren't any signs around, so you should know that people "save" chairs at the pool by placing towels on them. We saw people out as early as 8am saving several chairs and then not returning for a few hours. I don't really like this policy, although I can see where it would be nice to save chairs if traveling with a big group. Bottom line, be aware that this happens, because the first day we unknowingly took someone's saved chairs. Oops! We are big beach people, but the beach here is not like what you'll find in the Caribbean or other parts of Mexico/U.S., so be aware of that. The surf is very rough, the beach is rocky and not level. We actually preferred the pool. The food service at the pool and the swim up bar was great also! Pedro waited on us most of the time- he was able to memorize our name and room number immediately. He made great drinks and we liked the chips, salsa and guac every day for our snack! Thanks, Pedro, you're awesome! I suggest purchasing the all-inclusive gourmet meals as you will not be disappointed. We ate at La Casona every single morning- delicious food and fresh juices. My favorite meal was La Casona's dinner as well. Incredible steaks! Diego was often our waiter and he was incredible! Anais the hostess remembered our name and room number on our second day - she is a great hostess! Also Fredy, Luz, Ruben, and Angela at La Casona were all wonderful. Overall an excellent, high quality experience. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed in room 3605 B for 3 nights and I must say the property is very well maintained, very clean and I felt safe walking the property alone. My friend and I live in 2 different cities, she made the reservations and we decided to meet at the resort. I arrived before she did and wasn't able to check on because she held the credit card our stay was booked under. So unless I gave another form of payment I had to wait until she arrived. Which took about 3 hours. While I waited I was able to look around and relax by the one of the 4 hot tubs. We were shown our room and we had a great view of the beach and pool below from the 6th floor. Our room shared a balcony with a one bedroom suite that had a kitchen bar and living area. It states empty until our last night there. As we checked out the room we realized there wasn't a coffee pot, the trash can didn't have a liner and there wasn't a laundry bag for dirty clothes. My friend ordered room service and after we noticed the air wasn't working. The gentleman who bought the food said call the front desk because he didnt know what to do about it. We called and Well, what we did know is when you go out on the patio the air shuts OFF completely👀 you have to shut the sliding door twice to activate the air again. The beds were very comfortable they give you 4 pillows and the weight of the blanket was just right. The next morning as we prepare for the day we notice there went any cups for mouthwash. So remember to bring your disposables. The staff at the restaurants and by the pool are very friendly. The food comes out hot and fast. The drinks were made with fresh ingredients with the right amount of spirits. The next day we visited the spa for the scrub and massage service. We arrived an hour prior to our service to enjoy the amenities and I simply loved the relaxation room after my service. My therapist had over 20 years experience and was very knowledgeable in deep tissue massage techniques. I am also in the spa industry so I could tell she took he craft seriously After we were scheduled for a photoshoot, which I highly reccomend you book prior to arrival. We paid for our meals to be included with our stay. However there is an upcharge for premium cuts of meat and alcoholic beverages. This gave us access to the restaurants at both neighboring hotels but all needed to be reserved ahead of time. We wanted to sit out on the beach but the hotel didnt have chairs out because the waters were too rough. This property sits really close to the ocean so there isn't a lot of space for chairs with the water being the way it was. The pool chairs fill up fast so be sure to claim your early. There is a grocery store on the property that is very expensive but convenient. There is also a deli that serves ice cream, sandwiches and a variety of desserts and coffee. We saw a shuttle but wasn't for sure where it went so we never used it. We pretty much stayed on the property and relaxed. I had a great 1st time experience in Cabo and look forward to coming back
