We arrived on a Friday afternoon and it was hammering down with rain. When it eased we tried to get our air tent up but it just wasn’t happening. It started to rain again and we were soaked to the skin with a very wet and soggy unerected tent. Some other campers and one of the owners came to help. Despite everyone’s efforts it was not to be. So they rolled up our soggy and very heavy tent for us to pack it away. We managed to get another tent and at 8pm some other campers helped us get it all up before dark and the owners sorted out our hook-up. It is such a friendly and pretty little site, close to so many lovely places in N. Wales I didn’t score a 5 as toilet and shower facilities could be better - they were adequate and certainly not the worst we have experienced. The road and train noise didn’t bother us at all - you can see it’s location when you book so should expect it.…
Stayed here as a last minute decision with 3 friends after hiking Aberfalls. Mr Williams was very polite and helpful both over the phone when making the last minute booking and also face to face on arrival. We camped for 1 night on his field which was well maintained, had access to a fire pit, showers and toilets. All which was spotless. Great pricing at £10 per head. Especially as it was a bank holiday. (Good friday) Would definitely return.
We have just spent 6 days here and from the moment we arrived cannot fault the service, from the warm family welcome to the never ending nothing but nothing was to much trouble. Help and advice for getting around the area to sharing curry sauce, this family site exceeded all of our expectations and more. We will definitely be visiting again for sure. Amenities were fab, spotlessly clean, very very dog friendly, ideally situated for travels around north wales, bus stops right outside which were great to see different areas of wales. There is definitely nothing to moan about here and everything to love. Thankyou for everything and will see you again soon
The best weekend at a brilliant location. We called Hafod holidays last minute as our plans fell through. The host Jacob was exceptionally accommodating and had a pitch just perfect for our group. The ground is all flat which was comfortable for camping; we were placed at the back of the field next to a mini woods type area, complete with a fire pit! Unfortunately, our attempt at starting a fire was a tad embarrassing but Jacob came down and got it started! He could not have helped us enough during our stay. The site is clean and well spaced out. Showers and facilities to clean are available. There are shops literally 5 minutes walking distance and the beach is just as close. We hiked up Aber falls which is approx 10 minutes driving time away so the location is perfect for a bit of everything. £10 a night per person is excellent value for money. We intend to go back in a few weeks for another stay. Jacob told us he plans to build some glamping pods too at some point so if camping isn’t for you, there will be other options. Highly recommend…
We stayed for 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday) in two large tents with electric hook-up (no tripping at all). We are members of the Caravan & Camping Club. Going to be totally honest with my review here. The campsite is well maintained, the grass is in immaculate condition and cut perfectly. There are two fields, one with a large fenced off pond with fish. On arriving we stopped outside the house to wait for somebody to show us to our pitches. There was a sign on the door with contact numbers. We were told there was a guy called Danny on the campsite who would show us. There are two toilets one of which has a shower. Unfortunately there are no sinks to wash your hands or brush your teeth although there is a sink with hot water to wash your dishes. No mirrors too. The single shower is very small, no room dressing area, the water does not drain very well and there is always at least 1-2 inches of water around your feet. The other shower with a toilet is more spacious but by the time you have finished the toilet is completely wet. I honestly, don’t think the facilities were cleaned at all during our stay, there were snails on the ceiling and walls. I brought my own cleaning products and often cleaned the floor around the toilet. So far, every CCC campsite we have stayed on had been thoroughly clean and you can normally smell the cleaning products. There is an outside drinking water tap and a waste disposable for caravans. There is no ice pack freezing facilities for the tent campers so it was a huge struggle to keep our cool boxes cold. The campsite is situated between the railway line, Express Way and a main road and we found this extremely noisy all through the night, the train also sounded the horn very early hours (I do live on a main road). I guess the caravan owners didn’t experience this as much as they have insulation. On our arrival we discovered a wasp nest very close to our tent which obviously meant there were always wasps in our tents not good when you have a phobia. We did mention this to the guy who was there on our arrival. The owner’s house was just behind our tent and there was a window open all day and night on the top floor, we could hear the television (24 hours a day) because it was that loud and it kept us from falling asleep. On our last day we arrived back from a fabulous day out around Llandudno to find the bottom field was completely full of tent campers. This was a very large group of friends or family who were very noisy, loud music was being played from speakers and this went on till 11pm. Eventually the owners who had not been at home whilst we were there until Sunday had to ask them to tone it down. Also with the amount of people, I don’t think the facilities were adequate for us all. The owners came over to apologise for the noise which we were very grateful for and this enabled us to discuss the issues we had with their campsite. After a conversation we felt a lot happier that they did care about the campers and they were happy to hear our feedback so they could make further improvements. Overall if you don’t have sleeping issues this is a great campsite and situated in a brilliant position to explore that part of Wales due to being so close to the Express Way. The owners are lovely guys and once you manage to speak to them directly are happy to help in any way, so please give them your feedback. Unfortunately we won’t be returning to this site but wish the brothers luck with what could be a fantastic campsite.…
Been here many times.Havent done a review previously because we wanted to keep it to ourselves, but these 3 brothers with the help from Danny most definitely deserve the review. Small secluded site,5 mins drive to the lovely beach and prom, and 15 mins walk into Llanfairfechan, where there are 3 pubs, co-op, pharmacy, takeaway and a chippy.Brilliant bus route outside the gate and train station in the village. Facilities are brilliant for us...2 free hot showers, 2 toilets, chem waste, elec hook up and sink for washing up. Camp site surrounded by trees, there is a fish pond, and loads of room for walking the dog or the kids. Relaxed and refreshingly informal camp site...our favourite by far. Would definitely recommend, as long as you don't want posh heated bathrooms, and as as long as you don't pinch our favourite pitch.…
We stayed here for four nights and had an excellent welcome from one of the owners. We saw no one again after the opening greeting but the weather was really poor. Strong winds and constant rain but the ground drains well. There are two toilets and two showers which are free but because the weather was poor they were always wet. No toilet paper and difficult to use the mop as the bucket was not too good. During our stay there were only two other users and because the weather was bed we saw little of them. It is a ten min. walk into Llan where there are plenty of shops etc. We walked along the coast which gave us good views of Anglesey. We would like to return when the weather is better as it is a nice little CL.
Nice people - really helpful. Hot showers! Lovely little site. Excellent - would stay again. £5 per person per night camping rates. Didn't pay more for my camper van because I didn't use the hook-ups. Thanks guys. Campfire beautiful. Llanfairfechan great village - chilled, beach, welcoming.
We all camped here for the weekend of my brother's wedding in Llanfairfechan - it's a lovely campsite with plenty of trees and space, and a beautiful little camp-fire spot in the woods at the back of the site, where we played music and the campsite Warden came down and hung out with us - all together just a lovely atmosphere with great staff and in a perfect location between the mountains and the sea.
We have just had 4 nights at this delightful site. the grounds were immaculate and had lovely views. Facilities were provided although we had no need to use them except for water and toilet emptying, both of which were easily accessible. Danny the site manager was very friendly and helpful, lending us an extension lead for the electricity supply. The site itself was very quiet yet convenient for the beach and the village. Cycling is good especially for the leisure cyclist however cycling to Bangor is not for the faint hearted. If you like old fashioned seaside and peace and quiet this is the site for you!
