Rhiwiau is ideally situated 600 feet up in a secluded valley with mountains to the rear, panoramic views overlooking the Menai Straits and Isle of Anglesey and less than 5 minutes from the A55! We have been family owned and run since 1972. Rhiwiau always offers a warm welcome and a happy relaxed atmosphere as the many return guests confirm. We are ideally located for exploring North Wales. We are approx. 20 mins from Zipworld and 35 mins from Surf Snowdonia.

We stayed here in late September for one night and it was very pleasant indeed. It is a very well maintained, solid, sturdy building with an instantly homely feel. Set up high, beneath the mountains and above the sea, there are great views all around. An excellent welcome was given on arrival and excellent service throughout our stay. Rooms very well provisioned and the breakfast was superb. We were also given the option to take an evening meal which we did - no regrets! Lovely food and plenty of it. Big advice was eagerly also given to us to help us to know what sights to see the following day. This is a very lovely accommodation option and one for which I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending.

Great location tucked out of the way but close enough to nearby services. A very warm welcome from Ruth who is a fountain of all knowledge for the local area. My son and I stayed in the block next to the house and had two bedrooms and a lounge - very cosy with fantastic views. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the morning - just right to start the day. Make sure you find some time to walk around the gardens and take in the amazing views and sunset. We'll be back!

Beautiful place, wonderful and very helpful host. Definitely recommended. Excellent facilities and nice walk along the trails at the back. You probably can just stay there for the whole day and don't need to go anywhere else.

I cannot put into words just how amazing this beautiful hidden gem is. We’ve just got back from a truly lovely 1 night stay. We honestly found everything just so personal. We were greeted outside on arrival, our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Lots of amenities available in the room even including their very own fresh water from their spring. We were greeted with a tray of tea and the most beautiful homemade cakes! We explored their amazing grounds with the most spectacular views across the Menai. It literally is paradise up there. Ruth is a font of local knowledge and had some excellent ideas of future visits for us. We had evening dinner ordered and we were not disappointed by any means. Everything was home cooked and tasted just delicious. Ruth thought of everything, including homemade fudge. I told Ruth I was coming to live there.. We don’t often sleep too well in places we stay but I can honestly say, we slept like a log! The bed was so comfortable we didn’t want to wake up. Breakfast was beautiful, again all home cooked and very personal. Ruth is exceptionally attentive to her guests, nothing is any trouble. She’ll even do your washing if needed! I have to mention that the linen and towels smelt so lovely and fresh ( this makes a massive difference to us and I firmly believe it helped us sleep better) My only one grumble is.... We never stayed longer!! We will be back though Ruth so thank you ever so much - by far our favourite stay to date! Lisa & Eddie x

I cannot express how wonderful this little guesthouse is. Ruth is the perfect host, there's nothing this beautiful lady had forgotten.. And she was so natural, she made our stay unforgettable. The location is absolutely stunning, the guesthouse is so pretty and welcoming, the room was warm, comfortable and relaxing, the food was amazing and all sourced locally, even a bottle of water in the room fridge is from their own spring. A magical place run by a magical lady. Thank you Ruth, we can't wait to come and see you (and Indie) again. 🥂🌹

What an amazing guest house! Stayed for 3 nights and have been thoroughly looked after. Rhiwiau is in such a fantastic location and so perfect in every way. The views of the hillside and Menai Straights is second to none. The food is fantastic, good home cooked food by Ruth the proprietor. I cannot fault it in anyway. Delicious! Great value for money and perfect in every way. If you want perfect peace, great food and a lovely view, there is no better guest house the the Rhiwiau.

Discovered Rhiwiau last year by chance on our annual pilgrimage to Bodnant Garden and the surrounding area. Great food, lovely building, comfortable room. Ruth is the most helpful host you could wish for, and is for knowledgeable on dietary restrictions. I have Coeliac Disease, it can be a worry but Ruth has it all in hand. The surroundings are perfect, wonderful views over the valley and down to the Menai Strait, no traffic noise, just the sound of birds and sheep. This evening the loudest noise was a cuckoo in the woods. I can not fault Rhiwiau Guest House. If you want parties and music and noise, don’t book Rhiwiau, if you want an oasis of calm and tranquillity, without a care in the world, always book Rhiwiau.

Me and my wife (mid 20's) wanted to travel to Wales before the birth of our son and chose this as our North-West location. This was the cheapest of the three but left us wishing we'd just stayed here throughout our visit! After traveling around 4-5 hours to get there, we were greeted by Ruth who barely confirmed we were her guests before offering us a chance to rest on a balcony overlooking the valley and bring us fresh tea and homemade cake. This really set the tone of our stay as Ruth was extremely professional, welcoming and made us feel at home whilst giving us space for us to experience her beautiful guest house. The room although not massively modern had everything we could want with stunning views of the surround hills. Everything appeared cleaned and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had access to the guest house communal areas which were extremely homely and remind both me and my wife of our grandparent's homes although don't let that put you off it just made for a great feeling of comfort. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and Ruth made sure to keep our water/orange/tea topped up and was close enough for us to call if we required more. The surrounding area had stunning views, we had the woods and hills to the back of us and the sea to the front. I find it difficult to articulate how much we enjoyed our stay here but I can say the 5 star overall rating is well deserved and we look forward to returning here and staying longer - but this time with our son. See you again sometime in late summer 2019!
