It is a nice boutique hotel. The room was clean and we had a living room and a separate bedroom. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is about a 15 minute downhill walk on stone road. I would recommend taking a taxi back up the hill.

Nice atmosphere in the hills above the city. Walking distance to downtown. The staff are extremely helpful and put up with my lack of Spanish. Rooms are clean and have a nice Mexican design style and vaulted brick ceilings. Our room had a patio with plenty of space. Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, lots of fresh fruit and...

La Puertecita is a pretty boutique hotel away from the downtown noise. It is about a 15 minute walk into town which is a pretty walk and just fine...but remember to wear comfortable walking shoes with thick soles because you are walking on river rocks, not cobblestones. After about 4 walks into town, the bottoms of my feet were crying!...

La Puertecita appears as a group of typical San Miguel houses adequately put together as a boutique hotel. The friendly people in all positions provide warm and efficient service. Accommodations and amenities are nice but not luxury so cost-value relationship may be on the expensive side if you do not look for an attractive rate. It is located in a...

This was our first visit to San Miguel de Allende. La Puertecita was recommended by an ex-pat couple that has been living in San Miguel for several years. The room was large, clean and quiet. The hotel is in a nice setting as others have said about a 20 minute walk from the central square in town. We had breakfast...

I made a reservation at this hotel over one month ago and received confirmation of my reservation. One week before leaving I received an email titled "Reservation Cancellation". No explanation, no apology , no recommendation of another hotel, just notification that I had no hotel to go to. I called the hotel several times and no one was able to...

Gorgeous small hotel. Terrific service. Our room right under the dining room (and piano) was HUGE with a nice jacuzzi tub. It's about a 15 to 20 minute walk to town, and costs about $4 taxi ride back. It's a difficult walk because the cobblestones are very uneven. We would definitely try to stay here again if we return to...

Located on a hill, on a 15 minute descendant walk to downtown that will require a taxi to go back, unless you are quite fit, has about 20 large rooms but restricted to double occupancy, unless a $50 usd charge per kid is added, which moves rooms prices to the next level, that aren´t supported by a top service. I stayed for six explosive nights in this wonderful hotel, where the style is hot and the vibe is literally fiery. There's a spark in the air, almost booming in it's reach, and any fears I had of not enjoying my stay were completely shattered. (Right out the window!) The staff was very warm, literally running for help whenever I...
