The rooms are dirty, hot and dilapidated, the lady from the reception took more than 3 hours to bring some towels that of course, were dirty, bottom line this is the cheapest and nastiest choice here in San Miguel de Allende, AVOID at all costs

When I came to San Miguel this is EXACTLY what I pictured it to feel / look like. A total step back in time with hilarious building faults like doors not quite tall enough for a westerner to pass through without crouching down. To me Hotel Sautto's little imperfections made it perfect but I can see how it wouldn't be...

This hotel has two things going for it. First it is in a perfect location, a few blocks to the jardin and cathedral. Second it was very inexpensive, we paid $28 a night for a twin. The property is kinda quaint, with a large interior courtyard to relax in. I believe it is shared with other properties. They have a...

The convenient location and lovely setting made up for other shortcomings- 2 tiny towels and 2 tiny bars of soaps were the only "extras". When I inquired about a carafe to use for purified water, I was told I would have to go buy a container. Oh well, no glasses either! My main complaint was with the staff who not...

Hotel Sautto is a bit on the rough side, but it is clean, with fresh smelling linens, great blankets, and a very convenient location. Only 2 blocks from the jardin, this 1700s hacienda turned hotel is a cheap place to stay and makes a great base to walk all over San Miguel. The courtyard, with blooming jasmine and orange trees,...

Hotel Sautto is an older hotel in San Miguel de Allende two blocks from the Jardín. It has clean basic rooms and beautiful grounds complete with Macaws and fruit trees. I don't think it has been really renovated since the 50s which gives you the feeling of wandering back to simpler times.

In my quest to feed myself and my family who are mainly seafood fans, we asked the valet parking attendant about a place to eat and he suggested the Italian Food restaurant at the hotel. The Risotto, the Salmon and the Carpacio are very good, it has a nice wine cellar and house like atmosphere.

My wife and I dined at the Italian restaurant at Hotle Sautto as part of a large birthday party of 20 people. This was the first time at this restaurant and I felt the experience was worthy of a repeat visit and I'm sure it will be rated higher upon our return. Serving a large party is never the same...

When I first stepped off an Estrella Blanca bus in front of the Angela Peralta theater back in 1974 the closest cheap hotel was the Sautto, so Juan carried my bags half a block and I arranged for a lengthy stay. While the town has suffered lamentable changes, alterations and architectural modifications at odds with San Miguel's Colonial history, this...

Oh what a difference a day makes...goes the old song..BUT; oh what a difference 25 years makes ?????. well, not much; as far as the Sautto goes. Having visited here then and now, we can assure you that it is certainly the same old Sautto. We took a photo of the front of our room then and now.. # 22;...
