Old Courtyard Hotel is an authentic old Portuguese styled mansion centrally located in Fort Cochin. It has been renovated into a heritage hotel with 8 rooms suiting the architecture of the building. The rooms are furnished in colonial antique furniture on original wooden floors. All rooms are air conditioned, rooms have attached bathrooms, and we provide free wifi, laundry, travel desk. We have added a Jacuzzi pool to the guests to cool down. As a nine room property, we try to make the guests' experience more personalized with staff always ready to help.
Our motto is that Fort Cochin is your Kitchen. We are surrounded by many options of where and what to eat. But if you feel like dining in , you can bring in or order food and have it at the lounge or Garden wherein you'd be provided with cutlery and crockery.
This is a very private place only for room guests.
Very centrally located to wherever you want to go in Fort Cochin.
Come and stay with us and enjoy the privacy and calm.
We stayed at The Old Courtyard Hotel for 3 nights in February. It is a beautiful building with lovely rooms. The old wooden furniture and floors in the rooms add to its charm. The mosquito nets and air conditioning ensure it is always comfortable. The courtyard and small pool are good to return to after a days sughtseeing. The staff are so helpful and the food was great. Would love to return!
For the second time, The Old Courtyard excelled! Re-visited Cochin in January and was amazed that some of the staff and the owners remembered me. The addition of a spa pool in the courtyard is fantastic to soak in the sun and relax after a day of touring and work. Service is too attentive and to detail, offering a selection of herbal teas is most welcome and so is the lunch menu of the day. Had an excellent meal comprising of fresh vegetables in a home cooked style and the taste of the prawn curry still lingers! Thanks to all at the Old Courtyard for another great experience and shall re-visit in time. Keep up what you are doing and good luck to Rose and Jacob for maintaining a property with such consistence ! 5 *****
The Old Courtyard Hotel is in an excellent location and is an older style Hotel with heaps of character, it is an old Indo-Portuguese architectural building, the floorboards are huge, and the furniture is so comfortable. We found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There are plenty of places to eat in the evening within walking distance, this hotel is in the centre of things in Fort Kochi, and an excellent place to stay. Not only are the hotel staff great but Meena at the Travel Desk is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, she made our stay all the more enjoyable. We can really recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.
Fort Kochi was very busy. It did tax my driving in India a little. People, motorbikes, tuktuks, cars. Fortunately I did get to park right outside the hotel. The hotel was beautifully presented, with a lovely room, and the courtyard had a small pool. We ate elsewhere in the evening, but had breakfast, which was sufficient, though not the best. Very friendly staff (as throughout our stay in India).
Really enjoyed our stay here, the best in Kochi after moving around between side trips. The staff were super friendly and cooked us our best meal in Fort Kochi. The room - spacious, clean, brilliant hot shower and v powerful (same as a Western power shower... 👍)! The pool was also great, nice and cool and super clean. 10/10 would make sure to go to this hotel again if I came back.
The Old Court Card is an old heritage hotel in the colonial-style. It is located in the center of Fort Kochin and is a very nice hotel. You should be aware, however, that you can hear almost everything through the walls. But we had very quiet neighbors so this wasn't a problem for us. There is a little pool in the inner courtyard, but unfortunately, there is no longer a tree in the patio. The most notable feature is the wonderful staff. Everybody is super friendly and always extremely helpful. Especially Thomas, the receptionist and night porter, was always ready with a smile, and his dedication to the customer was absolutely amazing. He was there around the clock for us, so much so that we really wondered when he ever had a chance to sleep. He helped us in so many ways both…
What a special place! We stayed here for several nights and found the staff to be charming and helpful, our room was clean and full of character with wooden floors, lovely furniture and comfortble beds (covered with mosquito nets). This was my first visit to India and although we went on to stay in several places, it was hard to beat this hotel. Brekfast also really good with chef who is flexible and will cook according to needs (recommend the omelette). Lots to do and see nearby including crafts shops, beer and wine bar, good restaurants and walks near the beach. Staff recommended an early morning walk to see the local fishermen bring in their catches on the beach, very worthwhile.
We stayed here at the start and end of our Kerala trip and both stays were great. The staff are all so lovely, smiley and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms are gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool everyday which was always clean. Breakfasts were also lovely. Special thanks to Thomas and Suhas :-)
Ordered 2 x set dinners on New Years Eve, only one other customer in. Had veg and non veg option - non veg (prawn curry) was very tasty - but only 3 small prawns in the meal, dhall and side veg and rice were all luke warm, which did not go down well, cold rice is not that palatable. In a prime position but could not get any alcohol from in site hotel ...? - went to bar around the corner for that, in a prime position but not customer friendly...
This place has colonial style with colonial service. The quality of the wooden doors, floors, ceilings, staircases, have not only stood the test of time, but are exceptional in this day and age. Even the toilet roll holder in our bathroom (modern walk in shower in a party sized space) was made of wood. It's a shame they don't do breakfast but there are innumerable places to eat in this holiday town. I hope to come back one day for a longer stay.
