We stayed for two nights on our way to Pafuri, Kruger and it was a good location to explore Haenertsburg and surrounding area. Accomodation was well priced, neat, clean and seemingly recently renovated inside however the towels and bedding were tired and some of the appliances did not work properly. The unit also smelled of woodfired smoke from the indoor fireplace but all-in-all we will consider staying there again.

We stayed for nights on a midweek break. Disappointingly the horse riding was only offered on the weekends - this was not stated anywhere on the website or advised when booking. We would’ve definitely taken this into account when booking. There was also petting zoo noted on the website, however this was nowhere to be found. Upon enquiry I was advised that this is still forthcoming. In my view that is misrepresented on the website. Be careful of the tiles used on the bbq/Braai area in the chalets. These get extremely slippery when wet. The area also experiences regular power cuts, although no fault of Silvermist. Only 2 candles are provided for the extended period spent with no electricity.
Our interaction with Rob - the farm manager was wonderful. The farm is extremely peaceful and relaxing. The horses are beautiful. The hike in the pine forest up to the plantations was wonderful.
With a little more effort this place can certainly be a wonderful must visit resort.

Great service. Beautiful setting and facilities. They are in the process of upgrading the chalets which will make of an amazing place to take your family.
They helped us with transport to the wedding venue and back.

The best place in Haenertsburg. We stayed at chalet 10. Sufyaan and the team are super amazingly. 100/100. We've been there for 3 times and we will continue returning. The Lake views and mountains hikes are the best. Waking up to horses and other animals super awesome. Thank you to everyone

This place is truly magical. Horse riding. Hiking and breath taking views. Tranquil and so peaceful. We saw many buck and even zebra on our hike and loved the swing next to the dam. Very friendly staff and we will be back for sure. Next time we will stay for longer.

Lovely getaway nestled in the forest. Woke up to a layer of mist over the lake which cleared later on and caught some nice size bass. The horse riding was wonderful , we explored the mountains on horseback and saw a variety of game. Would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway.

This resort is what you make off it.It has a brilliant location ,comfy but a bit dated chalets, self catering facilities including microwave, fridge oven, daily housekeeping service ,a small murky looking dam/water feature overlooking the chalets,A beautiful forest sweeping through the mountains and the horses ofcourse. It can be a let down if you arrive with expectations of creature comforts.network of the phone can be very poor,DSTV doesnt work,No security guards at the gate at night. if that is what you looking for rather book into a hotel. but on the other hand if you can have an open mind and have a good time this place has lots to offer.
Rob the manager upgraded us to the superior chalets as we were not impressed by the rooms we had booked. He was there to help us whenever we had a query.Rob deserves a 5 stars. The housekeeping lady christine was very friendly and did the rooms during our stay so im not sure about the previous comments of room not being cleaned.Jimmy the horse guide was very informative and friendly. The horse riding with my kids was fun and we had a great time with jimmy giving us tips and lessons .Haenertsburg is at the door step of the resort for restaurants and supermarkets. So location is tops.
On the whole it was a refreshing break. Will I go back again?yes I definitely will.

What a beautiful place for horse riding. It has the most stunning trails and views. You ride through a dense pine forest, where you expect fairies and other magical Disney creatures to come out and play, and then you get to the open plains where Wildebeest, Nguni cattle and various Buck species show the essence of the African spirit.
Plenty of space for trotting, cantering and even galloping. Different trails suited for different level of riding.

I rarely give negative reviews but I feel the need to warn people about this place; do not go! Firstly, when you drive in you go past an equestrian centre which is attached to the 'resort' (I use this term loosely), the horses look as if they are not feed properly, you can see their ribs. Because of the horses there are copious flies. We tried to have a drink on the balcony outside and flies, hundreds of them, landed on us and IN the drink and food. The accommodation is in need of a major refurbishment. It is old, dirty and the shower mouldy. When we were there a storm hit which meant we were without power for 2 nights. No one from management came to see if we were okay or help in anyway. The storm stirred up a lot of mud in the dam which is where we learnt our shower water came from, the water was brown. When we asked the manager when it would be fixed we received a non- committal answer about having to get filters to fix the problem. In lieu of having clean tap water we were given 5 litres of drinking water which supposedly was for drinking and washing. Really? We packed up and left and found alternate accommodation in town. I strongly recommend you do not go.

I booked a glamping tent at silvermist for a night. I was surprised, when I arrived, to see that many people. I was expecting a more remote place... Some of the tents were located right on the edge of the dam - perfect location. Mine was more at the top. Pick the right one when you book... I had a long walk on the property the following day. I was amazed by the kiwi orchard... The first time I saw that...
