Alsisar Mahal is the battle hardened palace in the town of Alsisar in Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan. Earlier Alsisar Mahal was the residence of the Thakur of Alsisar, which is recently renovated and refurbished into a luxurious heritage hotel. Alsisar, famous for castles, Havelis and Cenotaphs is a small town surrounded by semi arid desert, situated in the north-western part of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. It originated in the form of small Havelis' collection in the town and later developed in the form of huge havelis which today stands tall and leaves a history behind them. There are hundreds of havelis in this area which bear the wonderful fresco paintings in various everlasting colours and designs. Each speaks with full throated ease about the glorious past of Shekhawati. They are the masterpiece of art and architecture created centuries ago. This is the reason the land of Alsisar Mahal is popularly known as open art gallery.

What a big palace! A truly maharadja residence. Many corridors and floors with a wonderful courtyard. The dining room is simply spectacular in size and beauty. Quality of the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was gorgeous! The quantity of food offered was just incredible. Only weak point: no WLAN available in any of the rooms only at the reception desk.

Excellent Hotel, several hours drive from Delhi located in a village, where we spent a night during our trip in Rajasthan. The staff was helpful and made our stay comfortable. The room was huge. We really enjoyed our stay at Alsisar Mahal.

Our introduction to India started at the incredible Alsisar Mahal.

Situated in a small town/village, it is hard to imagine what lies behind the imposing gates.

The hotel includes opulent spaces, such as the reception, dining saloon and swimming pool.

The Alsisar Mahal exudes old-world charm - this should be kept in-mind when staying here, as not all of the facilities are to 21st century standards.
However, this is the very reason for our high rating and enjoyable stay here!

Our room was extremely spacious, with views over the local area.
Food and service was extremely good - several of the staff gave us mini-tours of the various areas of the Mahal, including the roofs (for amazing sunsets), the ‘dungeon’ bar-space and the ‘WW II’ Lounge.

We were fortunate to experience a Muslim celebration street-parade that came to the gates of the Mahal to pay respects to the local ‘King’.

A great start to our Rajasthan adventure!

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for appreciating our heritage property Alsisar Mahal is the oldest of our properties and has undergone careful restoration , a process that took six years since most of the palace was destroyed in battle centuries ago . We have tried our very best to maintain the palace's original charm and aesthetic and we are glad you enjoyed the common areas. We are very proud of the hand painted frescoes that adorn the ceilings of the dining hall each depicting the famous hindu deity Lord Krishna in his different forms.we do wish you had stayed longer and explored more of the palace especially the dining hall upstairs that is called "badal mahal" (the palace of clouds) that took the artists more than six months to complete. My staff and I look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to Alsisar mahal. Warm regards Dhruv Singh Alsisar

We end our last night in Alsisar Mahal for our Rajasthan trip and it was really well worth it! It was by far the best hotel we have stayed in Rajasthan. The pool was most beautiful and inviting. The dinning area was grand with super service from all the effecient and pleasant waiters.

The whole experience was simply splendid! We got a nice, huge room with amazing facilities, including a hair dryer! Everything was just wonderful. There was a local family performing dance in the hotel in the evening, and the boy was a darling.

Would definitely go back again the next time I go back to Rajasthan.

If you are looking for complete silence and peace this is the place to stay. Away from city life. Rooms are very big and spacious. Excellent pool. Also they serve candle night dinner in there courtyard under open sky which was the best part of our stay. Food is finger licking. Overall had a great and memorable time there.

We take tours through India and had never taken clients to the area of Mandawa before. Our stay at Alsisay Haveli in Alsisar could not have been better. In fact, I would say it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, just perfect. ALL staff were friendly, polite, and quick to respond to requests. Their smiles lifted our days. The hotel itself was immaculate, so clean, rooms are large and well appointed. The dining areas have superb grand architecture. The pool area is divine also. A fabulous hotel and we will definitely be bringing our clients back to this hotel for rest and relaxation on the near future. In one word, perfect!

We had booked the hotel for one night 25th June' 17which included lunch ,dinner and next day breakfast.
One of our friends' s son ate milk powder provided in the room and also when we made tea out if it, we realised that it smelt of naphthalene and had a bad taste.. When we checked the date on sachets, they had already expired in Sept' 16.
This is not expected from a hotel where they do not take care of safety standards.

Overall stay experience turned out to be very bad...there was no cold water to drink when we arrived ...we could not check in untill 1 pm and there was no effective air conditioning in the place where food was served.
The whole idea of vacation was spoilt after our stay at this property.

We were at the property during autumn but the way we were looked after whilst there, would leave me to believe you and your family will have a memorable stay at the property, during the New Years celebrations. Some of our party dressed casually whilst others more formal as far as I am aware there is no dress code. Enjoy your celebrations in wonderful relaxing surroundings.

Hi! Since we drove from Delhi to Alsisar I don't know about the train route. We walked around the village and discovered Indra Vilas a old haveli converted to hotel, it's a good option for meals. We drove to Rani Sati Mandir in Jhunjhunu, visited the Shekhawati haveli in Nawalgarh and went to Mandwa village.
