Alsisar Mahal is the battle hardened palace in the town of Alsisar in Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan. Earlier Alsisar Mahal was the residence of the Thakur of Alsisar, which is recently renovated and refurbished into a luxurious heritage hotel. Alsisar, famous for castles, Havelis and Cenotaphs is a small town surrounded by semi arid desert, situated in the north-western part of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. It originated in the form of small Havelis' collection in the town and later developed in the form of huge havelis which today stands tall and leaves a history behind them. There are hundreds of havelis in this area which bear the wonderful fresco paintings in various everlasting colours and designs. Each speaks with full throated ease about the glorious past of Shekhawati. They are the masterpiece of art and architecture created centuries ago. This is the reason the land of Alsisar Mahal is popularly known as open art gallery.

A group of friends took a long weekend to head to Alsisar. I would say that the hotel is an ‘experience’ with many facets that make it a fascinating place to stay. Staff were great and helpful, food was good. I think the best thing was the sunset safari and drinks which was unexpectedly super fun with the drive and the drinks and beautiful sunset. Not many animals tho but who cares? The rooms are interesting but not necessarily cozy. Outdoor spaces are special. Fully recommend this place.

Magnetic. Magnificent. Magical. That’s Alsisar Mahal. 2020 has been the craziest year ever.. our first break for the year was at Alsisar Mahal.. we were so ready for the break and also had high expectations.. and we were completely overwhelmed, rejuvenated and pampered by the experience. The Mahal is a work of art, steeped in history but equally feels like being at home. Every corner is a spot of bliss.. And the ultimate place to party.. Food was amazing .. the sundowner at the dunes was surreal.. but what was off the charts was the classic hospitality.. definitely going back.

4-5 hours drive from Delhi, this place is perfect for people who love to drive and would love to get away from their homes during this pandemic. The Mahal is beautiful with big rooms and the staff ensures safety for COVID. The Mahal is located in the middle of a village so you're away from the city noise.

My sister and I visited the Haveli in early March. It was a strange time to visit with the virus beginning it’s spread across the world. It had not reached this beautiful area of Rajasthan yet and we had a fabulous visit at this stunning Haveli. I would call it a palace. Every area in the palace is filled with paintings, wonderful photographs of the family throughout the years, stunning frescos, antique furniture, stained glass windows that send rainbow light, hidden rooms on all the floors which we were able to explore and so much more. The staff was so friendly and helpful and every wish was fulfilled. The food was excellent and the rooms graceful and with every comfort. We hope to come back again and bring friends as soon as the world heals.

Fabulous building!! Magnificent rooms with huge bathrooms and lounge areas in each. Lovely grounds and swimming pool. Pure luxury!! So why not 5 star. Basically the food let it down. The setting for the evening buffet was wonderful. The buffet however was luke warm, with not a lot of choice. Breakfast was disappointing. Very little fresh fruit and only one choice of cereal. Not sure whether or not they were cutting back with the Coronovirus about to take off in India and we were the last group to visit. The hotel was set in the centre of a busy little village, which was worth exploring.

This is a magical hotel. Steeped in history the setting is magnificant right in the village of Alsisar whch gives a wonderful insite to life in a typical Rajistan village. The bedrooms are enormous with 4 posters and the food and service was first class.
