Alsisar Mahal is the battle hardened palace in the town of Alsisar in Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan. Earlier Alsisar Mahal was the residence of the Thakur of Alsisar, which is recently renovated and refurbished into a luxurious heritage hotel. Alsisar, famous for castles, Havelis and Cenotaphs is a small town surrounded by semi arid desert, situated in the north-western part of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. It originated in the form of small Havelis' collection in the town and later developed in the form of huge havelis which today stands tall and leaves a history behind them. There are hundreds of havelis in this area which bear the wonderful fresco paintings in various everlasting colours and designs. Each speaks with full throated ease about the glorious past of Shekhawati. They are the masterpiece of art and architecture created centuries ago. This is the reason the land of Alsisar Mahal is popularly known as open art gallery.

Travelled as part of tour group and stayed one night in this fabulous and breathtaking hotel. Our room was opulent and very well appointed with furnishings in keeping we felt with the age of richness and luxury of the days when used by the maharajahs. Our room had large comfortable veiled bed and two separate day beds for lounging! The bathroom was also huge and well appointed with excellent shower. Our food was good with a varied choice and we were sad to leave as the one night was not enough to explore and enjoy our surroundings. There were so many courtyards to sit and just listen to silence and songbirds - amazing! The room was fully air conditioned and also had mosquito plugs (just remember not to switch it off!). This amazing Heritage Hotel was in an isolated

Good old patterns looking furniture. Neat clean and calm areas. Food was good. You are in the lap of village and nature. One must try and get a feel of silent night and early morning bird singing. Nothing to explore in the village.

This place is magnificent, it is a really royal stay in a beautiful castle. The grounds are amazing and the pool is lovely. The dining room is stunning and the whole place is steeped in the history of a bygone era. The rooms are huge and the fittings are antiquated but that only lends to the charm of the place. The food, service and staff was great.

If you want a great experience of life now and how it was, book to go here. it's in a remote and simple place, but you turn a corner and there is Alsisar Mahal in all it's glory. There area variety of different rooms to explore which you woudn't expect to find. The dining room wouldn't look out of place in Buckingham Palace. Very attentive and pleasant staff. Would love to visit again.
