#1 of 2 hotels in Alsisar
Travellers' Choice
Alsisar Mahal is the battle hardened palace in the town of Alsisar in Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan. Earlier Alsisar Mahal was the residence of the Thakur of Alsisar, which is recently renovated and refurbished into a luxurious heritage hotel. Alsisar, famous for castles, Havelis and Cenotaphs is a small town surrounded by semi arid desert, situated in the north-western part of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. It originated in the form of small Havelis' collection in the town and later developed in the form of huge havelis which today stands tall and leaves a history behind them. There are hundreds of havelis in this area which bear the wonderful fresco paintings in various everlasting colours and designs. Each speaks with full throated ease about the glorious past of Shekhawati. They are the masterpiece of art and architecture created centuries ago. This is the reason the land of Alsisar Mahal is popularly known as open art gallery.

For our anniversary celebrations we were looking at a quaint place with royal luxury away from the hustle bustle of some of the more popular destinations in Rajasthan. I am glad we found this gem of a place in the middle of Shekhawati region. Alsisar Mahal is a fabulous grand Mahal in a small town Alsisar 20kms from Jhunjhunu. The place is 5 hours drive from Delhi on a not so touristy route. Roads were good. Until you reach the gates of the mahal its hard to imagine such a luxury waiting for you in a nondescript town. Once you enter the gate its a completely different world. The place is Huge and beautifully maintained. The rooms were very spacious. The Restaurant is gorgeous!! So much that Hindi movie Manikarnika was shot here, even though for just a few scenes. Staff was very

We stayed for a night at Alsisar Mahal enroute Jaipur from Chandigarh via Hissar. The approach to the hotel from the State Highway is through a narrow road crisscrossing the village. The signage is not good and one has to depend on Google Maps. Once inside the hotel, one is impressed by the sheer magnificence of the property. This is a 17th century palace belonging to the Alsisar royal family who are also running the hotel. We had booked a Deluxe room but since we required an extra bed, we chose to upgrade to a Super Deluxe room which has an extra day bed. Our room was massive and had a huge sitting area. We also did check out the Deluxe rooms which are also fairly spacious. In the evening, we went for the sunset Jeep Safari of the semi-arid surroundings. It was a nice

Went on an extended weekend trip in jan’21. We were 3 couples and 2 kids. The hotel is in the middle of the small shanty town, but once you get there, the propriety is fabulous. Immensely well maintained and decorated, like the WW2 lounge and superbly friendly staff like Mr. Zahir who arranged the safari, gave us adjoining rooms and advised on our go to places as well. Rooms we stayed in were humongous (super deluxe) and food pretty decent Once again zahir. You rock.

Visited the Alsisar Palace for 3 nights last week.We were 2 couples. Alsisar is a small village in Jhunjhunu district with this palace and nothing else around it. It is a BEAUTIFUL palace. The staff is courteous and friendly at the same time. Arjun at the reception ,was very nice to us senior citizens and upgraded us to the Superior rooms.Beautifully done huge rooms. We were a little wary as it was our first trip in almost a year , during these COVID times but felt relaxed after we were told that the rooms were fogged/sanitized after each use. The dinning staff pampered us with delicious food and never said NO to anything. Seeing the BADAL MAHAL, I was reminded of the St.Petersburg palaces and felt proud of our Indian heritage. The terrace and the swimming pool area and the

We took a short family trip to this property in early October and were all quite pleasantly surprised with the place and the service offered. The hotel has been very well restored and maintained by the owners who seem to be managing the hotel themselves rather than giving it to a chain. This is quite visible with the personal service the staff offers. The hotel being a heritage property maintains the old world charm with all the modern amenities. The food is excellent and the focus on local cuisine is great. There are no televisions in any of the room's it gives you ample opportunity to relax and spend time with the family. The pool is really great and the hotel offers poolside service which is really great since one would like to spend most of the day there. However, I think
