We stayed here for the final 4 nights of our trip, and we definitely saved the best for last. Yummy food, incredibly helpful and engaged hosts, beautiful grounds with wildlife (we saw everything from parrots to a spider monkey). We splurged a bit and rented Room #4, complete with open air shower and a private cenote-style plunge pool with landscaping,...

Thanks for taking the time to write the review. I see you are experienced at reviewing the hotels you travel to and I for one appreciate the effort it takes to do this upon your return home. You have said it all.

I recently went to Mexico on a "girls trip" with my mom. We travled to La Selva Mariposa in Tulum, a delightful bed and breakfast. The owners Mari and Lou and thoughtful and generous hosts. Each room is uniqe, designed to provide you with the comforts you want when traveling and they stayed true to it's Mexican roots. Each morning...

Thanks for the kind words. You were staying in #4 for 3 nights and your last night was in #2 . This suite has a shared pool. Glad you like the accommodations. We are looking forward for your return trip with your Mom or bring your husband next time.

Traveled to Tulum and Cancun in late December/Early January. We were looking for a place to stay outside of the norm, somewhere we could use as a jumping off point to explore the area. Through the reviews on Tripadvisor, we found LSM and are glad we did. The grounds are immaculate, well designed, cozy, comfortable, and super clean. Lou and...

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful review. We have to say that you were delightful guests that made our hearts smile. We hope you will return and see the new additions to our little oasis in the Mayan jungle.

It’s not often that you leave a place looking forward to your next visit, but that’s how we felt after our stay at La Selva Mariposa outside Tulum, Mexico. In person the grounds are even more beautiful than the photos on their web site. All manner of lush native flowers, shrubs and trees line the walkways to the guest houses....

Wow. Your review was so beautifully written. My husband and I hope that you will return and experience even more of this beautiful part of Mexico, as well as the new additions to La Selva Mariposa that take place daily, as Mother Nature has a hand in it all.

We spent here the second part of our holiday in Mexico and we loved it. Everything was perfect, amazing breakfast, friendly staff and an incredible garden. We were so happy with our decision to stay here ! Lou and Moe are wonderful hosts, and they have created such a great paradise. The only think we didn't like was the sound...

We have created yet another waterfall to mask the sound of the trucks that pass our pueblo, it seems to be working. Thanks for your feedback.

You should stay here! It's a wonderful, relaxing hideaway - close enough to the beach and ruins yet pleasantly far enough away from all things hectic! Lou & Moe provide an amazing experience; they've really thought of everything. We traveled to Cancun after just 2 nights of LSM, and our only regret on the trip is that we wish that...

We look forward to your 3d stay with us. That is a great complement for us that you want to return AGAIN. And yes, we are proud of our involvement in the MG community. We love our life here at La Selva Mariposa.

Excellent place to stay if you want quiet and relaxation. The water features Lou has built are so calming and cooling in the middle of the jungle. The open air bathroom and shower was so fun--almost like camping in the jungle but with all the amenities. I wish we had spent a week instead of a few days. Mari and...

Yes, your stay with us was way too short. Thanks for the kind words and for mentioning so many details about your stay with us. Lou's creative mind is always designing the next waterfall, and who knows it may be associated with the cenote, 30 meters deep, that we are excavating at this moment. Lou even went down on a...

My sweetie and I were here for 5 nights in January 2011 and decided to return for 7 nights in January 2012. Lou and Mari are the most accomodating hosts ever - they truly have thought of everything! The B&B rooms are beautiful and clean. The B&B property is a magical experience with many species of birds and butterflies. The...

La Selva Mariposa was the ideal setting for our first trip to Mexico. The owners were well prepared to answer all of our questions and more than met our needs. Example: the page in their guide book labeled Mexican driving 101 provided many good tips for Americans driving in Mexico. Their guidebooks provided useful information on the myriad of activities...

Thanks for the review, and for mentioning that we are conveniently located between Mayan ruins, a colonial city and the beaches. Taking the 2 side/by side rooms #2 and #3 worked well for your family: parents and 2 adult sisters. Having you and your family here felt like being with family to us as well.

What an outstanding experience!. Although we expected a jungle environment, La Selva Mariposa was over the top. Can't thank you enough for the outstanding review. I liked how you said the charm was the LOCATION. Now that we have a fun Mexican restaurant in Macario Gomez, guests like yourselves can enjoy an inexpensive and authentic meal just steps from LSM.
